Tuesday 23rd August: week 8 of flower. Ladies still looking good. T3 has started developing a purple color to her leaves. My research reveals this to be a phosphorus deficiency. It must be related to the nutrients I'm giving her because another plant on the same feed cycle as her is doing the same. She's currently on GHE Bloom 3ml/l I'll flush her over the next few days to try sort it out. Photos taken just after lights off tonight.5 points

I finally decided to harvest. The 1 Crescendo and Headbanger could of definitely gone abit longer but due to space everything must be Chopped! This was definitely a challenging grow, not being there daily to check up on plants and feeding has cause some problems. The Blumat watering worked great but needs to be monitored daily as I've had pipes blocked abit and those plants sufferred from that only noticing a few days later. Now time to wait and see how they turn out and taste.4 points

Here is Pineapple Fields 5 days before the chop. As you can see... she is a big girl. The smell coming off of her is absolutely incredible. Candy/fruit/fuel/haze. Probably one of, if not the greatest smelling plant I've ever come across. I haven't been this excited about a plant in a good while.4 points

They looking good. That's not a deficiency... Some phenos do purple as they fade right from about the 7 week mark3 points

Changing osmotic pressure is never a good thing, plants have to spend energy adapting to it. I never flush, ever.3 points

Ive decided to go back to GHE, also that I’ll be running RDWC. In my last grow with coco and hortimix I found something was a bit off with the batch, after using it for close to a year I just found it far to much effort then it’s worth, having to use close to 220ML of A and B to get the required EC in 25 L of water. Will rather just carry the cost burden with GHE.2 points

Wow they looks great , maybe it the 240 [emoji39] Sent from my Hisense Infinity H50 using Tapatalk2 points

On close inspection it does indeed look like teeth marks. Luckily she doesn’t seem to mind it yet Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk2 points

This is interesting. As mentioned I know porcupines do it and a porcupine is a rodent. So your rodent guess is probably spot on. Plus I think I can see little teeth marks. Nice one.2 points

I think it could be a small house mouse or something along those lines/mole/rat. Unlike ringbarking trees, water and nutrients for cannabis flow up the internal part of the stem, so it should not be a problem.2 points
-
Like ringing a tree, Stops the flow of nutrients and the protective coating Not sure cannabis is the same though. Maybe a cutworm?2 points

So myself and @Dr. Greenpurchased a pack of Loud Cake together so I will be running 4 of them. Might stick in random clone but I'll see, 5 plants felt a bit too much in my spare.2 points

Yeah what the Dr did to those Headbangers was exceptional. With every grow we learn and hone in on the skills that will make us happy campers. So what you planning on popping next?2 points

If you keep the dome closed or unventilated, your clones dont need roots, they get what they need from the air, as it so moist. You can close it off in the first 24h and then slowly open or vent, more and more, so they seek food. Making roots I use old Dynaroot, and have 100% rate, and also not to leave them in water for long, just dip and go...2 points

The RH in the dome plays a big role. I followed your advise of lowering it by leaving the lid slightly ajar as my dome doesn't have any vents. When I used this process the rooting success ratio moved from the odd 90% to 100% The tops that I clone with are also relatively small reaching about 10 to 15 cm. With about one to two nodes above the cut that I fully remove with only the top tip remaining and those fan leaves at the tip getting a proper trim down. I also don't really mist or spray my dome too much within that 2 week period probably only about 4 to 6 times after the first initial spray down. Happy cloning my friend and hoping this little bit of input can help you knock those top cuttings out of the park2 points

Thanks man, i generally do exactly that, down to sitting in water and using 6 year old dynaroot LOL, i find the hollow stems of the tops often lead to the stem going soggy from some bacterial infection or something, so i add a few drops of h2o2 to my cup of water that they sit in for a few min... that seems to make a good difference, but its not fool proof.2 points

My 3 main ladies are looking rather happy in their new homes. My bag seeds are pushing through, I thought I was going to lose 1 as I watched pieces of the leaves literally burn away (I didn't change their soil, thought I'd see what happens to them). Is it safe to assume that original soil was hot?? Anyway, 1 of 3 DS seeds clearly wasn't doing as well as the others but looking better each and every day. I bet you'll immediately be able to point that one out . I gave my first dose of BioGrow, 2ml/lt of PH'd water. Water was brought down to 5.8 this time around. Leaves have become darker so I believe all is well so far.2 points

Hi CreX. I primarily only clone with tops due to the mainline that I run. No special process and close to 100% rooting success rate. I cut the tops and keep them in water for a couple of minutes till I am done with the one plant. I then use Dynaroot rooting powder and dip the stem in it. (My rooting powder is also probably 6 to 7 years old) Then over to peat cubes. I do remove quite a lot of leaves and any nodes that are above the cut so as to allow for a smaller leaf foot print. If the stem is relatively big the rooting might just take a little bit longer. The Twisted Helix cut that I gave @PsyCLown was a top cutting.2 points

That must be him right there. It’s been quite a trip with this girl. Got a clone about 6 months ago. Did a bare root and prune about 3 months in and again a month ago to fit in that pot and have enough fine roots. Went outside immediately as I don’t think I could afford more veg growth. Been hanging in there and the new growth is actually green. Let’s hope she gets through this. Thinking of taping it up Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk1 point

That's the type of damage you can expect from a cutworm. They curl around the stem and walk 'n eat in circles. Happens at night and then they burrow back underground.1 point
-
That is amazing ,stem that size in a pot so small. Nice growing. Probably just a outsider marsupial doing some stem art on something so interesting. Yip a porcupine might have knocked it over ( top heavy ) while a field mouse would not be able to.1 point

Fuck me bro.. I can see you and @Dr. Green read the same grow bible Epic scrog work my man. You can be very proud of that grow1 point

But why flush? For what? What is the purpose or what are your gaining by doing so? I run coco with GHE nutes, I never flush and never experience issues. No nute burn either. @CreX Also runs coco and he even reuses some of his coco at times (goes from flower to veg) and also does not flush. I understand the nutes can build up in the medium over time, however I have yet to experience any issues with this when running nutes at recommended doses. If you want to be cautious, you could try lowering your nute strength a bit and save some money on nutes.1 point

@Pants check those roots my boy @Prom you probably grow some of the fattest nugs on this forum. Very well done man. Great defoliation and proper balance on nutes. Will use what I have learnt from you on my next grow.1 point

@The Grass Baas The Sprayer for R85 works nicely, but the lack of a wand can make a big difference. Although this is 10 times better than those trigger bottles. The issue with this is when you want to try get the bottom of your plants and try turn the bottle sideways and it sucks up the air and reduces the pressure or when you try get under the leaves etc. The one for R269 is what I am referring to with the wand, excellent sprayers and well worth the money! The one I use is a Garden Master I think, but I am sure they are all pretty much the same. One can even lock the spray trigger into place and just move the wand around. WIth the wand the tank can be upright and you can turn the wand in whatever direction to ensure you get a nice spray alllllll over your ladies... if you know what I mean1 point

You can say that again, 4 days before the biggest cannabis event of my life, it was all cancelled due to COVID. I was about to print shirts, caps, flyers. And then had to pay back about 5k to add insult to injury. Not entering, but making a plan to be there. It really does look like its going to be a great event.1 point

Eish, you know how your hand cramps are using one of these bottles and the spray isn't as fine as a pressure sprayer. Not to mention when I drench my plants I can go through 2L to 4L of foliar solution - so having to refill the whole time can be a mission. It is difficult to spray and get under the leaves with a trigger spray - I understand that a paint sprayer can be overkill for some, although they do work really well I have heard, but at least fork out the money on a larger pressure sprayer with a wand if you plan on doing a few foliar sprays. The fine mist helps with coverage, the wand helps get under the plants and leaves easier and reach some otherwise difficult to reach places and the pressure makes life much easier on your hands and forearm muscles... Not to mention those trigger bottles always break and clog very quickly and easily.1 point
