  1. Hi bro, if it was underwatering your plants will perk up in an hour or so. Before you water again make sure it's not overwatered by lifting up the pot. If it feels light give some water if not the problem might get worse if you should add water. You mentioned that it was completely dry before you watered last time. If your soil was super dry it can loose the ability to retain water. That would explain why you had such a lot of runoff. Maybe someone else has got some more input.
  2. Nice, harvest day is always a good day! Some nice frosty buds you got there. As for the droopy leaves I am not too sure what caused them. Could be either over- or underwatering. Since when do they look like that?
  3. Welcome ☺, I'm especially interested in how the cream cookies auto will turn out. All the best on your grow.
  4. Quite interesting to see that some of you guys had problems with Dinafem Seeds. So far 10 out of 10 seeds germinated. @Nibiru I grew the PAK too a few times. I didn't struggle with germination but I think the strain is a bit tricky to grow. Sometimes I wonder how old the seeds are when they arrive in South Africa. I mean they are surely stored for some time by the breeder and by the vendor in SA before they get sold to the grower.
  5. Hopefully spring will be here soon. I'm afraid some coldfronts are still to come. I plan on germinating my first few seeds on the 1st of October. Fingers crossed.
  6. Yeah it wasn't a smooth ride. I learned a lot from that grow. But I was determined to grow my own and luckily it paid off.
  7. Thanks @SkunkPharm. By now I have convinced the people around me that this plant has many benefits besides just getting you high. So I don't need to sneak around anymore. My plan is to grow a few autoflowers and two photoperiod plants. I'll try my best to stay within the limit . The two photoperiod plants I grow are: Purple Moby Dick - Dinafem Simple Wedding Cake - Pheno Finder I'm really looking forward to see how they'll turn out.
  8. Hi fellow growers, It’s rainy and cold in the Cape and it seems like the next outdoor grow is still eternities away. So I decided to do a little write up about my first outdoor grow in South Africa (used to do indoor in my home country). I think it might be beneficial for a first time grower. I hope it’s fine to post it here as this is a grow from 2016. I want to start off with a little background story. After 4 years of not consuming cannabis I decided that it’s about time for cannabis to be part of my life again. I didn’t have connections whatsoever in SA and buying from strangers wasn’t an option for me. I started to do some online research hoping to find seed vendors within South Africa because I didn’t want to risk being caught importing seeds. By that time the only online vendor I could find was Green Smoke Room but I was still very hesitant to order some seeds from them. By coincidence I found a guy on Gumtree who sold San Pedro Cacti and Salvia plants. I figured that he surely knows where to find some cannabis/seeds. My plan was to meet him to buy a San Pedro and then casually ask him if he also has some weed for me. That’s what I did and it all worked out as I hoped it would. I went home with a San Pedro cactus and a little bag with seeded weed. I was so happy to finally have some seeds even though these were bag seeds. Next thing I did was getting some good soil. I went to Stodels (yes I know what you think) as Freedom Farms either didn’t exist back then or I just didn’t have them on my radar. I think I was very lucky to find some awesome soil in a garden center with a PH of 6.3 I think. It might have been the soil from Floragard but I am not too sure about that. As friends and family had some funny ideas about cannabis I decided to do an extra stealthy grow… On our roof . I didn’t fertilize a lot before she went into flower. Only the last weeks of veg I fed her with some Seagrow and in flower I fed her only Biobizz Bloom. The total costs for that grow were something like 300-400 Rand. Below you’ll find some pictures. I only started to document my grow around week 3 after germination. As I was growing on the roof I needed to train the plant quite a lot so she’ll have a low grow profile. The plant got camouflaged by the grapevines pretty well. You see my growspot evolved slowly to counter problems like gale force winds or to keep it invisible to our neighbor. I even watered the plant before the sun came up to make sure nobody sees me. Once the buds fattened up I decided to play it save and build a little cover made from Plexiglas to ensure that rain won’t cause bud rot. Unfortunately the picture below is the last pic I made of the whole plant. This lady actually continued to grow another two weeks before I chopped it. As I harvested more than I expected I had to make a plan where to dry the buds. I figured the attic would be the safest place to dry my plant unnoticed. It worked out quite well, but if you can don’t dry it up there. It can get hot in there which will cause the plant to dry too quickly and also the heat is bad for the terpenes. This plant must have been a Sativa dominant hybrid. I can remember the first time I smoked it I was so full of energy that I had to mow the lawn. It was an awesome high. I decided to post this to show that it’s possible to grow some decent bud even on a very tight budget. I have to add that I was lucky the plant turned out to be female and that she was such a beauty. Bagseed is always a lottery and I think I won the jackpot that summer. I hope you enjoyed my little write-up and I look forward to start a proper grow diary this season.
  9. Nice djungle! Looking awesome.... and the best is still to come.
  10. I totally agree with this statement @PsyCLown. At least when it comes to mixing the soil yourself. On the other hand starting to grow with some good premixed soil like for example FF soil plus using the biobizz range is pretty much fool proof (if you stick to the feeding table). Beginner growers tend to try and invent a new wheel instead of sticking to proven grow technics. Or they try to safe and buy crappy soil from the nursery around the corner. IMO these are big contributing factors why some beginners struggle with their soil grow.
  11. I guess someone wasn't too happy about your new passion. Been there too, but things have changed since then. I'm sure you'll be able to sell your equipment. Especially after you demonstrated what it's capable of doing to your plants.
  12. @zolrookerOh no that's a bummer. Things where looking so good... Hope you will be able to finish your next grow man.
  13. Also looked into this a while ago... Like @PsyCLown said once you figured out how to grow mushrooms it's fairly easy. But I am not too sure if you'll be able to maintain all growing parameters if you put the grainbags/jars into your growtent.
  14. Soooo I got my airpump and fiddled around a bit. Couldn't find 35mm pvc pipes anywhere, so I tried 25mm and it works like a charm. This is how it looks like. Now I got a question what you guys use as a 'teabag'?
  15. I'm sure this strain will help you. It's very indica dominant. I believe the breeder claims it's 100% indica but that's always questionable. I grew 5 of these. When it comes to growing this strain be aware that it starts off quite slow and requires very little water. The leaves will always look a little droopy but that's strain related so don't worry too much about that. Hope you'll enjoy growing these .
  16. @RafDon't worry I wouldn't recommend the seedbank you think it is. I've ordered from them years ago and it went fine. I think @Ill_Evanhas ordered from them more recently and received good service.
  17. Hi @silverdelange, the plants look happy and healthy to me. I see you've put them straight into quite big pots. I would have chosen a smaller pot for the first stages of growth. Watering can be a bit tricky when starting with bigger pots, so be careful when watering as it's easy to overwater. Other than that I think you should be fine. I'm an outdoor grower, so can't tell you much about lights but 1000 watts is plenty. Happy growing
  18. @afternoon blazerGotta put it in a bird Cage bro (not the dog, the plant).
  19. That's the 420SA spirit @StickyD420.
  20. Thanks for the detailed grow log. Really enjoyed this one @Prom!
  21. Man, I have two dogs and needed to build a 2 meter high platform for my plants just for the ladies to be save (and to get plenty of sun).
  22. Here you could get some PAK @highchome. https://www.cannabisseeds.co.za/store/feminised/dinafem-purple-afghan-kush
  23. Purple Afghan Kush from Dinafem. Never had a better good night smoke and it helps with my back too.
