  1. Hi fellow grow enthusiasts, I mixed my super soil 3 weeks ago (first attempt) and all genetics I want for the coming outdoor season are on their way. Now I can't sit around till the growing season starts, so I did some research on compost teas, etc and found something that was new and quite interesting to me... Has anyone used and made some seed sprout tea? I am planning on trying it this year. Here's a link for more information on Seed Sprout Tea: https://www.alchimiaweb.com/blogen/seed-sprout-tea-sst-cannabis-plants-ok/ I also would like to know how you guys test your soil mix? I plan on planting a "test plant" and see whether it likes the soil or not (hopefully it does ). I germinated a bag seed for that purpose, which I will plant into a container with my soil mix in a couple of weeks. Is there any other way to check if all requirements are met? Thanks in advance for any guidance
  2. @Ill_EvanLove the idea with the cooler boxes man. I guess the ladie's roots will love it too! ...and the outdoor plant is praying to the sun. For me that's always a sign she is fine as can be. Looking forward to seeing your next update ☺
  3. @oros da bossthat's what I do but it just takes for ages. Do you by any chance know where to get single bags for a reasonable price? I guess I could just get a 43 bag and replace it with the 25.
  4. @oros da bossI tried already man but it still takes me like half an hour ... but I guess that's worth it seeing the price for a bag. I am sure it's good quality but too expensive for me at the moment.
  5. Hi Chris, thanks for posting this. I love making bubble hash and have bags from overseas. The smallest screen is 25um and it takes ages (more than 24 hours if not more) for the water run through. I always made sure to give the bags a proper clean after using them, but I always had the problem described with the 25um bag... Now I found this thread and think about getting a set of these bags because I hope the runoff time for the smallest bag will be shorter. I also like to support small local businesses instead of faceless big companies based in China or so. Have you ever used an 25um bag and if so did you experience similar issues like I did?
  6. Nice setup man, I hope your grow goes smoothly till harvest ☺. I haven't grown with these lights yet but it seems like they are a bit too far away from the seedlings. They look a bit as if they stretch to get closer to the light.
  7. Yeah, I got a few auto seeds here already (White Widow, banana blaze, Colorado cookies, brooklyn sunrise, original Amnesia). But I'd also like to grow two photoperiod plants this season. @ORGANinc.that is very generous man, I'll PM you ☺
  8. Haha guess who suggested the gelato auto to me brother ☺. I'll check it out now.
  9. Thanks guys, I see they have quite a variety of seeds. @afternoon blazerblazerthey are definitely selling their seeds cheaper than others. @PsyCLownI guess I'll have to look for similar seeds. I am just one of those guys who wants to get what I have in mind ☺. Oh well, hunting for seeds is one of my favourite activities during winter.
  10. @PsyCLownthanks man, seeing sacred seeds hasn't got the beans in stock that I am looking for I'll check biltongandbudz. In general it seems like the local seedbanks are running out of seeds. Let's hope this whole lockdown thing is going to relax a bit soon...
  11. Hi bro, I am based in the Western Cape and look for a few auto Strains from Fastbud seeds (gorilla glue, gelato,...) as these have been recommended to me. I saw they offer these beans on their website. But what a bummer... the moment I want to add them to the cart it shows they aren't in stock. Don't understand why seeds are visible on the page when they are actually not in stock. So the search continues.
  12. Hi, I am on the mission to get all the seeds I want for the coming outdoor season, but my go-to seedbank hasn't got what I want in stock. Now Sacred Seeds has exactly what I am looking for. After recent problems with a certain seedbank I want to be on the save side before ordering from a seedbank I don't know. I saw people where happy in the past, but has anyone ordered from them during lockdown? Enjoy your wake and bake
  13. I once planted a photoperiod plant in August (also Cape Town area) just for fun. It went straight into flower and got 30 cm big. I germinate mine in the end of September, beginning of Oktober.
  14. Always wondered how the indoor guys deal with effin loadshedding ☺...
  15. Yes, thanks everyone for all that information and help ☺. This forum seems to be one of the few places online where people really try to help. I like that. @Bospatrollie2 in case I would want to use hydrogen peroxide, how much should I use for 5000 liter?
  16. Hi bro, just checked and it is 600l/min. I don't know if it'll do the trick. I took a picture (this thing needs a good clean).
  17. @Bospatrollie2 thanks man, that's some valuable information. I'll check out what I can get with regards to filter systems. @DamDave cool I'll give it a go. Thanks again guys you've helped a lot. P.s.: I'm new here, is there a way to give rep points? Like what are the little arrows for in the left upper corner of the replies?
  18. Morning bro, thanks man that helped a lot! I've got the green ones. I have a very small pump I got myself for an ebb and flow system years ago. Never really got into hydroponics so finally I found a good purpose for it. Or do you think it might be too small (not sure how much it can pump in an hour but can find out).
  19. Hi there, I got myself two 2500 liter jojo tanks. Want to store the rainwater till summer when it's needed. Can I just keep the water untreated till I need it or is there anything I need to do to keep the quality of the water maintained? (I'll do an organic grow, so chemicals won't be an option.)
  20. Good morning, I am new here so I am not too sure, but I would continue with this thread (if needed I am sure it can be moved). There's already so much informtion that others can learn from. But let one of the others chime in too.
  21. Hmmm not sure but maybe you should look at a possible potassium deficiency.
  22. @Prom and @Bakstein420 that's good to know as I was always worried about that. Just want @afternoon blazer to be successful.
  23. What I suggested to him was not to start to seed directly in the ff soil. I think there’s a warning on the bag not to do so hence I never tried it.
  24. Hello everybody, I start my seeds directly in the jiffies. Also did the papertowel method in the past. My reason for starting the seed directly in the jiffie without a soak is that I want to protect the fragile taproot. Once the seed is in the jiffie I put it in a warm place and wait till the seedling breaks through the surface. Thats when I carefully place the jiffie into the final pot. That's just how it always worked for me, but there are so many different ways to start the seeds. Sorry my English isn't 100%. I am from Germany originally (hi @Prom )
