  1. Yeah, I hear you on the companion planting. My outdoor grow area was chosen for its sunny position and away from prying eyes. I've decided to selectively introduce companion plants(tomatoes, basil and squash) to create a mini 'biosphere', hopefully attracting some beneficial insects to try and keep the bad critters in check. 2. Holy moly Stinger96 112 seedlings....are you planning to take over the world? You growing outdoors I assume? Sent from my SM-A500F using Tapatalk
  3. Good is an understatement Pat... I'll be stoked if I get more than 50g dry weight off my 1st swazi lady. Harvested the last buds and main colas 6 days ago- still drying- high ambient rh here. But then again I'm growing outdoor. Sent from my SM-A500F using Tapatalk
  4. Been battling red spidermites for a week now. Blasting them with soap and epson, now trying soap, oil and peppermint oil. Luckily the spider mite are sticking to the tomatoes so far and staying away from my swazi girls. What works for you guys? Sent from my SM-A500F using Tapatalk
  5. That looks awesome. A lot of good smoke and variety. Lekke man. Sent from my SM-A500F using Tapatalk
  6. My method is quite similar. Soak the beans in dechlorinated water in a shotglass for 12hrs to soften up. Then transfer onto round cotton facepads and place 2nd pad on top to cover. Taking care not to mix different strains-label them. Keep them moist and warm ishh for 2 to 3 days in a dark area. Once the tap root emerges 5-10mm I transplant to prepared seedling trays (tap root down) with my own compost and riversandsand mix. Once 4 leaves emerge I transfer to forever pots. If the seeds don't germinate in the 2 to 3 days I don't discard them. I transfer them to a separate pot of soil in a last ditch effort. Had quite a few beans surprize me that way. 7. Afternoon all. Planting all kinds alongside my Swazi. Got some palermo sweet pepper seedlings on the go. Have a green ,yellow and orange tamato forest in the front garden, some plants nearly 1.5m tall. They dig the compost teas that I use on the swazi. Sweet potatoes and strawberries running underneath. Basil, rosemary and catnip dotted in between to keep the bugs away. Managed to germinate some passionfruit a while ago, trelissed the vine and it's bearing good fruit now. Keeps me busy and out of trouble. Sent from my SM-A500F using Tapatalk
  8. Welcome Noon. Enjoy the experience. Sent from my SM-A500F using Tapatalk
  9. Our choices were between local grown seeded, prematurely harvested lowgrade and some ok-ishh ,bonedry ''imported'' weed. Growing our own has shot that to s##t, the homegrown bud beats it hands down. Aroma, flavour and potency. Properly cured it's just better. I'll never go back now. Currently puffing Swazi gold and DP. 11. Some good stuff...haha. Sent from my SM-A500F using Tapatalk
  12. Eishhh, thats not cool. Had the same thing, if you catch it quick and it's not completely snapped off, tape it up it should heal. Sent from my SM-A500F using Tapatalk
  13. What a brilliant article, Clearly explaining so many misconceptions. Bloody good read. Sent from my SM-A500F using Tapatalk
  14. Evening 420sa I seem to have found a interesting phenotype in my bagseed batch. It grew and started flowering quick and has a different leaf structure. 3 point main leaf. Buds are real pungent and fruity. The interweb research suggests there might be some Ruderalis coming through. What are your thoughts on a bit of breeding? Sent from my SM-A500F using Tapatalk
  15. Evening good ppl- bit of an update. Did a bit of harvesting pruning and curing. My swazi lady yielded 23g cured so far. Expecting a bit more from the main colas which I'm chopping tomorrow. It's not huge but it's a good start. Sent from my SM-A500F using Tapatalk
  16. Big mama is doing well, but not quite there yet. I know it's late in the season, but she is soo close I don't want to stuff it up by harvesting early. 1st 2 pics trichs too clear. Started the winter outdoor grow as an experiment. Extending daylight with artificial light. We have very mild winters, so we'll see how they perform. 3rd pic. Sent from my SM-A500F using Tapatalk
  17. Just remember, dry ice is Co2...carbon dioxide. Be carefull how you use it. In small quantities it might be beneficial for the plants but you could inadvertently creating an atmosphere with reduced oxygen. Sent from my SM-A500F using Tapatalk
  18. Mainly work as a Marine surveyor, petrochemical, gas and dry bulk. Sleep is optional ha,ha.... Also did some onshore exploration drilling in deepest dankest africa. Self confessed greenthumb, now venturing properly into oganic cannabis cultivation. Sent from my SM-A500F using Tapatalk
  19. Looks verrrryyy good. Awesome. Can just imagine the aromas. Sent from my SM-A500F using Tapatalk
  20. Howzit lekke ppl, I always seem to be growing something, as can be seen from the 'other' herbs. Had some swazi bagseed germinate between the basil and chillis in Spring 2018 and voila. Largest remaining female now bearing decent heads, especially as she's in very sandy soil and does not recieve enough sun. Top dressed with my own compost and stuck to seagrow once a week, finishing her off with molasses to fatten up a bit. 1st pic Dec 18(let's see what happens) 2nd pic Feb19(almost 2m tall) 3&4 heads (smelling awesome) Now about 1 or 2 weeks away from harvest, checking every day. Won battles against aphids, worms and spidermites. Happy to say they all died horrible deaths...ha,ha,ha. Had to brush up on a lot of stuff from nutes (organic and chem) to adjusting water ph and fighting all the goggas. Glad I joined this forum, learnt a lot. Thanks a million guys and gals. Gonna do a larger scale outdoor grow. Babies allready germinated, will post pics soon. Cheers vir eers Sent from my SM-A500F using Tapatalk

    Cannapax

Morning, interesting read this thread. I've met Bobby and attended one of his talks. He's just a normal guy that believes in this plant and all its different uses. He's out there doing his thing and it seems to be working. He's pushing for registration with the Cannabis development Council of SA. Government doesn't know effall about the cannabis industry and they don't really want to. All they care about is money/taxes. The industry must get to the point where it can self regulate and control, but who is going to do it??? We have to...the growers/buyers/smokers.. the knowlegable people(us) that can spot these shady characters from a mile away. Who better to distinguish between good quality homegrown herb and the rubbish majat these other dodgy mofo's are trying to sell. I'd rather join the CDCSA and have a say in how this is going to pan out, than sneak around like a skelm looking over my shoulder the whole time. In this ''window'' of opportuinity the regulations for this new industry must be defined and written. Otherwise cannabis is going to remain underground. Sent from my SM-A500F using Tapatalk
  22. I agree with the sentiment to not use benzine. It's a proven carcinogen. The vapour and liquid can penetrate the skin on contact. Nevermind its extreme volatility that will cause explosive atmospheres. Download an msds from the net. Know the stuff you work with. Be safe. Sent from my SM-A500F using Tapatalk

    Intro

Howzit all, Looking forward to gaining and sharing knowledge and experience about cultivating this green weed called cannabis. Always been growing just about anything, not just cannabis-green fingers they say... Currently have several Swazi ladies outdoors. Prefer organic, but also keen to experiment with hydroponics.
