For outdoor... Bark is a common part of most ''store bought'' mixes, but many commercial mixes contain TOO much bark IMO. Depending on the type of bark (Usually Pine) it tends to be acidic(tannins)and many times organically sterile- bad news for any plant's rootzone. (Culterra has been mentioned) That's why so many growers prefer to mix their own. I use ''commercial soils'' but it only makes up a percentage of my mix. I activate my mix organically with ''home made'' compost and inoculate several times with AACT. Sent from my SM-A500F using Tapatalk

Vortex/Air lift compost tea brewing
Bos replied to 420SA's topic in Organic Growing - Growing in soil
I was running just the airpump with an air stone previously. After some research it seemed that more agitation is recommended. This thread prompted some tinkering. I built two versions, 1st one out of some 50mm pvc 2nd one from some 20mm clear silicone (I used what I had laying around) The 50mm required much more air than what could be delivered. 40mm would be better. You need a lot of air. The 20mm diameter worked well but did not agitate the water near enough. What I eventually settled on was the airpump and air stone running together with an old fountain pump and some garden hose. Not exactly a ''vortex'' as mentioned, but the water is being aerated well and the fountain pump is circulating the water well and adding more aeration. Sent from my SM-A500F using Tapatalk -
Hi@Psyclown I'm growing organic outdoors got a number of plants at various stages. Water, Seagrow, AACT- alternating. I wouldn't mix nutes and tea's, keep it simple and separate. Sent from my SM-A500F using Tapatalk

Eishh that sounds hectic, good to harvest in batches. High veld is good, nice and dry, cause I see the guys in the Cape are struggling. Hope they smoke well. Sent from my SM-A500F using Tapatalk

Hey@Gnome, How's the trimming going dude, that's a lot of loaded branches. Hope you don't get clipper blisters, after 3-4hrs of trimming you feel it in the hands hahaha.... Any issues with curing, seems winter mould is becoming a problem. Sent from my SM-A500F using Tapatalk

The breeding has allready started... will see what the 2nd gen. delivers. How deep does the rabbithole go??? Sent from my SM-A500F using Tapatalk

That is a decent list dude... thanks. Yeah...you gonna have to grow it and test it yourself- because of proprietary info most of the breeders won't share that info easily. It's a lot of commitment, physical and economical if you're doing it by yourself. I'm running mostly sativa strains due to the heat and high RH in summer. Dont know if Indica dominant strains will handle our summers - 30deg nights, 42deg days 80 to 90%RH. The idea is a perpetual outdoor grow Sativa during summer, Indica for winter. Matching my strains to the weather. Sent from my SM-A500F using Tapatalk

Finding pure land race strains would most likely entail travelling to the country of origin and personally collecting the seeds to ensure tracibility. Are there sativa strains with notible CBD content? I'd be interested. Sent from my SM-A500F using Tapatalk

Got some imported Swazi Gold bagseed. Probably some F1/P1. Don't know if that would be of interest?

Ok, so you don't make tea's or extracts from chicken poop at all. Only into the compost? Sent from my SM-A500F using Tapatalk

I have a relatively broad knowledge base regarding organics,macro/micro nutrients, rhizosphere ect... But I've haven't heard of AACT and the active inoculations before and their benefits as mentioned on this forum. Holy crap...what a difference it makes guys and girls... And proof is in the pudding... We harvested our last lady and it looked good she put on good weight and filled out beyond expectations. But I was surprized. All told 178gr dried and trimmed from a lady that stood 1.5m tall in a PEP 20lt carrier bag. This forum is beyond cool, thanks for adding to my knowledge of flora and a better insight into those ''little things''. Feed your soil is all I can say. Keep it going. Evening 420sa Our funky pheno yielded 48gr dried and trimmed. Some really dank fruity mango buds. Taste testing exceeded expectations. Lekker.... Sent from my SM-A500F using Tapatalk

Sounds like they are ''guinea pigging'' a system. If you think about it...(and the more you think about it the effed up it sounds) What doctor(cause you need to see the doc to get the script-schedule 4) is going to write a prescription for a cbd treatment that doesn't treat ''any specific condition'' only for ''general health benefits'' Consultation fee of around R500+cost of meds that will have little or no effect at that dosage??? Think I will self medicate and watch that space...puff, puff... Sent from my SM-A500F using Tapatalk
