  1. That is a good root ball my friend.... no wonder those plants grew so well. I'm growing organic in soil and always like to check the root growth after harvesting. To try and get an idea of the overall health of the rootzone. Happy roots+happy plants=good harvest You are doing something right there. Lekker man Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
  2. Blerrie Good stuff, Any change of a pic of those roots out of interest sake? Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
  3. Hi 420SA, Give those spider mites something better to eat and they might leave your cannabis plants alone. The buggers seem to love my tomato plants and apparently they like squash and celery(as mentioned by other members on this forum). Wouldnt some companion plants or ''sacrificial'' plants help with your problem? Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
  4. Lekker man, What an unexpected elegant solution to a ''pain the neck'' problem. Mother nature is all about balance and equilibrium. Us humans tend to eff up that balance and then many times we wonder to ourselves.... wtf??? Glad it worked so well for you. Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
  5. @Totemic, I would suggest@Skunkpharm's method of weaning off the meds gradually as there could be severe unforseen side effects bruh... It seems as if you are allready committed to your current direction of cold turkey. There will be some bumps.... Strongs bru. Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
  6. I feel the same about diy and personally prefer it. You learn so much more by applying your mind and it gives your ''setup'' a personal touch. Never mind the financial aspect, prices at growshops are ridiculous!!!! Everyone on this forum has varying environmental and economic circumstances but, we have this ''ONE''[emoji271][emoji260][emoji891][emoji263]thing in common. It's blerrie cool man. Keep it growing. 8. Looks like everything is on track. Lekker man. Sent from my SM-A500F using Tapatalk
  9. Some wordplay... Sent from my SM-A500F using Tapatalk
  10. Howzit[mention=1893]Dank[/mention]I can confirm that there are no cheesy flavours, just clean fruity mango. Got a couple of beans from the breeding attempt, next gen is in the ground. Lekker.[emoji16] Sent from my SM-A500F using Tapatalk
  11. Our winter ladies doing well so far. They about 1 week into preflower and looking good if I can judge by the early trich production. Bit of an experiment, because winter outdoors is not ideal. Did a bit of cropping, have 6 to 8 main colas, trying to keep the plants short to attract less attention. These plants have the same 3 tip main leaves as the Mango ''kush/ skunk'' that was harvested previously in this thread. So far so good, we are quietly optimistic. Sent from my SM-A500F using Tapatalk

    Help

For outdoor... Bark is a common part of most ''store bought'' mixes, but many commercial mixes contain TOO much bark IMO. Depending on the type of bark (Usually Pine) it tends to be acidic(tannins)and many times organically sterile- bad news for any plant's rootzone. (Culterra has been mentioned) That's why so many growers prefer to mix their own. I use ''commercial soils'' but it only makes up a percentage of my mix. I activate my mix organically with ''home made'' compost and inoculate several times with AACT. Sent from my SM-A500F using Tapatalk
  13. I was running just the airpump with an air stone previously. After some research it seemed that more agitation is recommended. This thread prompted some tinkering. I built two versions, 1st one out of some 50mm pvc 2nd one from some 20mm clear silicone (I used what I had laying around) The 50mm required much more air than what could be delivered. 40mm would be better. You need a lot of air. The 20mm diameter worked well but did not agitate the water near enough. What I eventually settled on was the airpump and air stone running together with an old fountain pump and some garden hose. Not exactly a ''vortex'' as mentioned, but the water is being aerated well and the fountain pump is circulating the water well and adding more aeration. Sent from my SM-A500F using Tapatalk
  14. Hi@Psyclown I'm growing organic outdoors got a number of plants at various stages. Water, Seagrow, AACT- alternating. I wouldn't mix nutes and tea's, keep it simple and separate. Sent from my SM-A500F using Tapatalk
  15. Good idea for AACT Diy the hell out that thing for a fraction of the price. Sent from my SM-A500F using Tapatalk
  16. Eishh that sounds hectic, good to harvest in batches. High veld is good, nice and dry, cause I see the guys in the Cape are struggling. Hope they smoke well. Sent from my SM-A500F using Tapatalk
  17. Hey@Gnome, How's the trimming going dude, that's a lot of loaded branches. Hope you don't get clipper blisters, after 3-4hrs of trimming you feel it in the hands hahaha.... Any issues with curing, seems winter mould is becoming a problem. Sent from my SM-A500F using Tapatalk
  18. The breeding has allready started... will see what the 2nd gen. delivers. How deep does the rabbithole go??? Sent from my SM-A500F using Tapatalk
  19. That is a decent list dude... thanks. Yeah...you gonna have to grow it and test it yourself- because of proprietary info most of the breeders won't share that info easily. It's a lot of commitment, physical and economical if you're doing it by yourself. I'm running mostly sativa strains due to the heat and high RH in summer. Dont know if Indica dominant strains will handle our summers - 30deg nights, 42deg days 80 to 90%RH. The idea is a perpetual outdoor grow Sativa during summer, Indica for winter. Matching my strains to the weather. Sent from my SM-A500F using Tapatalk
  20. Finding pure land race strains would most likely entail travelling to the country of origin and personally collecting the seeds to ensure tracibility. Are there sativa strains with notible CBD content? I'd be interested. Sent from my SM-A500F using Tapatalk
  21. Got some imported Swazi Gold bagseed. Probably some F1/P1. Don't know if that would be of interest?
  22. Congrats. Sent from my SM-A500F using Tapatalk

  24. How is the yield looking@Gnome Looks like it's gonna be a lot of trimming? Sent from my SM-A500F using Tapatalk
  25. I have used extracts/steeps before on orchids and vegetables, just have make it weak or it will burn the roots. Wanted to find out about uses on cannabis. Thanks Sent from my SM-A500F using Tapatalk
