  1. The small bubbles don't cause enough flow/disturbance in the water. Bigger bubbles breaking the surface are better. Airstones get gooey/clogged quickly and become a breeding ground for the wrong bacteria- you can cross contaminate your teas with the airstone. Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
  2. The problem is...you have to over engineer the system. Most solar istallations do well when the sun is shining but, give it 3 overcast/rainy days and you are stuffed. You have to calculate your total consumption for everything-Kwh But what you use in 24hrs the solar panels must put back in 8-12 hrs of daylight and the batts must be able to handle it. What you think you need in batts and panels you likely have to double up if you want to go offgrid with the grow. Solar Panels+Mppt/pwm charge controllers+ mod/pure sinewave inverters+ deepcycle batts. Cables, connections, fuses. Installation costs aren't cheap even if you diy it. FYI....beware cheap Chinese electronics you won't save money here. A basic sized system 50k- 100k Offgrid system for your house R250k easily- just to give you an idea. And then you break even in 10 years. @GLO figures are not far off- like it or not. Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk

  5. Yes it will, leave the airstone off and just weigh the end of the pipe down. My basic recipe... 20lit dechlorinated water 25ml seagrow(food for fungi) 25ml unsulphered molasses(bacteria) 500gr compost in netbag/stocking (EWC will work too) Let brew for 24hrs Good signs- biofilm foam on top Smells woody/musty/sweet/clean Golden amber colour Bad signs- turns dark-bad bacteria Smells off, bad, stinky, rotten, shit (Discard) Don't try to brew constantly, do small batches and start each one fresh. 6. AACT- Actively Aerated Compost Tea. Heard of it on this forum for the first time and now I'm converted brewer. Our plants have never looked better. Have a look on this forum- plenty of info. If you prefer Google- Try search for Heisenberg compost tea. Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
  7. Missmayhem, We're doing an organic outdoor grow, using my own soil mix. I alternate with Seagrow, AACT and rainwater every 3 days approx depending on the plants requirements. Cannabis plants require more nitrogen during vegetative growth, during flowering they require less. So if you want to use both, you can alternate between biobizz and fishmix(not sure if they can be mixed), but be aware that you'll have to reduce the N feeding during flowering. Too much N during flowering will cause toxicity. FF soil is good(reviews on forum),have a look at the ''organic'' thread on this forum. Lots of info on FF soil and organic nutes. Cheers..[emoji4] Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
  8. Hi Allyb, Welcome to the forum. Growing outdoors as well, but our outdoor temps do not drop as low as Pretoria. So our plants are all outside on the westerly side, facing the sun(full sun), from seedling stage to get max exposure. In winter we chase the sun, cause these plants love it. Just introduce them gradually if they are used to indoors and they should be fine. Keep it growing. Bos Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
  9. She was harvested on the 10th of May. So technically she going on nearly 2 months now. I'll give her some extra daylight, hopefully she is ready for the outdoor season. Been meaning to ''repot'' her- better to do that now or when she starts pushing good growth again? Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
  10. Cool, I can extend her light hours. Just don't want to mess with the flowering girls. I'll just seperate the plant completely. Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
  11. She is outside, in the sunny spot facing west with the other flowering ladies. Only getting about 8-10hrs sunshine daily if it's not cloudy. Got me thinking now.... any recommendations regarding light hours for reveging? Full sun/shady...? What seems to work best? Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
  12. All our big ladies are in flowering mode. Got some interesting shades of green coming through with the camera flash. Got some funky twisty tips on some of the main growths. Any ideas? Really happy with their growth, haven't had any issues worth mentioning. Got a rotation going wrt feeding/watering 1 session plain rain water 1 session AACT 1 session Seagrow They ''dry out'' within a day or 3, we monitor the soil moisture and water/inoculate/feed accordingly. Trying to let Mother nature do her thing - K.I.S.S. as they say. 13. Hi Spicedgold, You going to have to get some more enlargement on those tricomes. Little difficult to judge from the pics. I have used a magnifiying glass in front of and my cell camera(full zoom) Worked well, got some nice pics too. Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
  14. I am by no means an expert but I have experience with hydroponics growing other plants(vegetables) My cannabis I grow organic in soil. No light can beat natural sunshine. Organics- slower growth rate and more forgiving grow. Better terpines and flavour development. Less stressful grow, you don't have to watch every little thing. Hydro- faster growth rate, small margin for error. Apparently less flavoursome smoke. Very involved/stressful, checking ph, nutes, lights, temps, ventilation, RH. 19. I'm growing outdoor organic in my own soil mix. 50%Compost 30%commercial potting soil 20%riversand I feed sparingly with Seagrow and supplement with AACT for the rootzone. I only use rainwater or koipond water. Our Municipality messes with tap water too much. PH is all over the show. Less is more- we tend to think otherwise!! You need to be careful when mixing a whole bunch of stuff together. It usually causes more problems than it solves. Been there got the t-shirt. Shotgun remedies are bad. If the signs are on the old growth but the new growth looks good, give the plant some time. It wil show you what it needs. Members with similar growing conditions will probably be able to assist more. Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk

    Calcium?

Hey Acid Alice Don't know if you have these. Accordingly, looks like P, Mg or Boron. Leaves also lookin very dark green like too much Nitrogen. What medium, grow condition, plant age/stage. Could it be a deficiency(shortage) or toxicity(too much) or a lockout? Difficult to diagnose like this. Let some of the other growers also share their opions. Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk

    Broken branch!!

Afternoon, I think everybody has had this happen to them to a certain extent. The honey tip is a good one, thanks. Didn't know that. Here's my kit Electrical tape, supportive and stretchy for binding, even on a light break. Wooden splint to keep the branch straight Wire, cableties and bagties to tie splints Compost tea to mitigate plant stress and help with the healing. I've trained bonsai's before, so with the wire you have to be careful that it doesn't cut into the branch as it grows. Cannabis grows so fast, you have to check on healing regularly. Otherwise leave it alone, cannabis is very resilient, they heal quick. Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
  24. As the title states, we started something and it's taking on a life of its own.... Pic 1 and 2 are the original Swazi mama's babies, all doing well. 3/4 The ''foreigners'' 3. 2x Unknown donated fem seed from the Netherlands. 4. 2x Sour Diesel auto's from Herb Nation 5. 7 bagseed ladies from Swazi origin- The Winter experiment 6. Flowering started lekker 7. Results of topping, 6/7 colas we hope. Topped all the ladies to various degrees to keep them low and improve yield (No 8ft sativa monsters-not stealthy) 8. One exceptional lady going BIG 9. The Ruderalis seems strong in this one. Lots going on and keeping me out of trouble....[emoji16][emoji28] Grow on 420SA Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
  25. So I managed to fertilise this ''Mango kush'' pheno and she is now parking off revegging after being harvested. Seed has been planted and are growing well, they grow so well in fact that some of the beans cracked and started sprouting straight on the tree before I could pick them off.... They are on a mission to grow!! A question to the more experienced growers, is the growth in pic 3 and indication of revegging? Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
