  1. @OrganicGrower_ZA so you get 300m³/h of air transfer with that fan. For your tent you want to do at least one transfer of air a minute which is the recommended amount. So you need a fan that can transfer the 8m³ of air in your 2x2x2 tent once every minute. So if your fan does 300m³/h then it does 5m³/min, which means it actually under performs for your tent specifically although I'd say it's good enough if just for simple air transfer.
  2. What size and type of exhaust fan were you running?
  3. Then HPS is your boy. The science says HPS has the best spectrum for flower to this day. I am 100% behind that statement and still own an entire air-cooled in-line HID setup sitting in the closet. However I completely replaced them with LEDs (Quantum Boards). I replaced 2 x 400W HIDs with 3 x 240W QB LEDs. My electricity cost every month was hovering just shy of R2k with the HIDs, with the LEDs I am now paying less than R1k. In terms of quality of flower I can't fairly comment between the two setups. My grows currently are certainly much better than when I had the HID setup however my access to way better genetics from using HID as well as my skill as a grower have increased since. I am honing in on my particular setup and I am pretty sure I can get some ultra primo stuff in due time, not to say the latest harvest didn't bring bountiful plenty goodness. The heat was an absolute nightmare with HPS and I had to time my grow in the year to be closer to Winter just because of that. Just make sure to keep the heat in mind during flowering.
  4. The way I understand it, PM is a fungus and can travel through the air via spores. Plants in your garden or just even outdoors, sometimes even partially underground, can suffer from PM which then passes on to your outdoor cannabis plants.
  5. Got my seeds sitting in the dome since yesterday should be able to get a concurrent grow going. I'll be doing my 3 x Pluto Cut plants outside.
  6. Ooo is that a fancy fancy Bud Box you got there @PsyCLown?
  7. I'm going to do mine outside so would be interesting to see the difference.
  8. This was my thoughts, is landrace even a thing anymore? Like anywhere? I would think it would set a breeder back a bit to attempt to work with a untouched landrace strain, if one could find one. I'd imagine the breeder would anyways just mix that landrace with a tried and tested US/EU strain. But I'm a n00b at breeding so my knowledge extends to what is posted in this thread
  9. I'm going to be using nets on the next grow in my 2.4x1.2 space. At the end of flower last grow, half the branches were moering all over the place, had to use plenty of yo-yos and twist ties to keep things at the canopy. Hoping the net also keeps the canopy more uniform.
  10. This man is getting me Ethos Autos as well. Anyway to start a joint diary?
  11. !*whoop whoop whoop*! Sorry sir you are under suspicion of being way too cooked, could you remove your glasses for me sir? Just as suspected. Send them in!
  12. I'm talking about marketing. I'm aware, I didn't say they don't sell international at all. Cooked Jay everybody!
  13. They are a whole other story though. From a pack of 5 fems of their version of the GDP I'd say only 1 of them were "ok". From what I see they breed for seeds, not to contend. Their farm is based in California and they do super random strains en masse. In fact, I don't really see them as breeders. Although they do have the dosh to spend on marketing hence you see them as the most "local commercial" seed bank, but even they seldom get the high-end international strains.
  14. Pretty much this. My first local breeder buy was of @Totemic and it was completely based on his reputation, the diaries I've read of his over the time I've been on the forum, and then finally the genetics within the Tortoni F1 was the trigger point. I was worried it would have sold out by the time I had the space to grow them so even though they are not on the next grow line-up I really wanted to just have them ready to go I think a big push for local genetics comes from forums like this and also from the seed banks themselves. I can imagine the struggle of marketing as a local breeder because at the end of the day, the breeder is busy working on their craft over trying to sell their work. The international breeders bleed money into marketing which can easily attribute to the price per seed, but they have the ability to do so. I don't think there is a question that local breeders have just as good genetics as the international guys, it's just exposure and branding I feel. As @Prom says, the legal private home growing has made a huge impact to the interest of cannabis and the availability of information. It really is the tip of the ice-berg though, if government doesn't screw up too much, the cannabis industry will be the next big boom this country seriously needs.
  15. I think you will be very happy with Ripper Seeds. Keen to see that run
  16. The harvest has been concluded. Apart from the one Criminal + cola that got some mold, another cola from one Jock Horror also started to get some mold, so I decided to start chopping the whole grow. Some plants could have gone another one or two weeks, in particular the Jock Horror and Royal Gorilla, but this is in my opinion specific to just these strains as they do have quite long flowering times as opposed to the others as they are supposedly more sativa dominant. While trimming I did not find any more mold which was a relief. Took me roughly three days to get it all done, it felt like a time warp trimming tree after tree. It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. I've taken the veg plants from the small veg tent and now placed them in the flower tent, and placed the drying net with the harvest into the small tent to continue drying. I find the smaller tent with the drying net creates the ideal drying environment. The drying process in this stage has in the past lasted up to 10 days which I feel is a nice slow dry. I think I am going to be pretty stacked for a while... So let's just go ahead and start up the next one
  17. I would follow the instructions on the bottle for the full dosage and simply give a little more often than what you are currently doing, but don't go overwater your plants. Yes you can give too much nutrients, so stick with what the bottle says and if there is still deficiency we work from there.

    EXTREME SPORTS

I've done snowboarding and skiing when I was in Europe and more recently I got into muay thai but since the gyms can't really do any contact sports I haven't done much apart from hitting the bag. As soon as the gyms are allowed to operate fully again I'd like to do BJJ and get back into muay thai properly. In future when I have hundreds of thousands of Rand to blow I'll get into paramotors especially when they figure out the electric versions.
  19. Some girls be greedy, homie
  20. They are definitely more into flower than in veg, I wouldn't transplant this far into flower but adding some fresh growing medium isn't the end of the world. Check in a few days whether the light green in your leaves gets any darker or not. The first pic I would have rather added some nitrosol as it appears the plant is slightly deficient in nitrogen. Cannabis plants still need a bit of nitrogen in flower but not too much. The second pic the flower looks more mature so you may be experiencing a mix of fade which happens as you progress further into flower, depending on the genetics, and a little bit of nitrogen deficiency as well.
