COUPON: freeseeds Limited to one customer and no other products will be allowed when using this coupon To help get potential and new growers off the ground and into the market, we have come up with a free seed offering* whereby the grower just needs to pay a packaging and shipping fee and we will send them some seeds. First time buyers are a bit skeptical regarding ordering online. It's also a super kak first-experience when you drop a grand (R1000) on seeds and find out the hard way that it can be a bit of a challenge to get things right the first time round.. The seeds We have chatted to a few local breeders and they are all keen to partake, @Totemic has already sent us some seeds for the project, #best. The idea is that we get promo seeds from breeders, mainly their f1/2 etc that they don't have enough space and time to run/grow and in return we ask the new grower to document their grow on 420sa.co.za. Even if 1 out of 30 actually does a grow log, we think it will be really great feedback for the breeders. The cost R150 packaged and delivered anywhere in SA - We have to do a bit of admin managing and packaging the orders though have tried to make it as non-profitable as possible, we will review the pricing in a month or so. Also as we are in CT, orders within CT should be cheaper due to cheaper shipping costs however we also have guys that order in outlaying areas which sometimes end up being R100-300. Hence we balance out the costs and keep a flat rate. The launch The offering will be live by Monday, 18/01/2021 Limitations The offering will be limited per a customer to a one time only offer, so if you have placed a "free seed order", you can't get another. If you want to create 200 email addresses and ship to funny locations, we can't really stop it but hopefully we don't have any funny business. Our hope is building up a great client base of future SA growers. As mentioned regarding the grow logs, we will point the new comers in the direction of 420sa.co.za so they can get some first hand advise and grow the community even further. We are super open to ideas and feedback, so feel free to drop a comment Image below was designed by https://www.thiagobianchini.com/ for and is owned by Cannabist (Will be printing some shirts soon ).9 points

The Blunicorn and Slurricane comes from Cannahealthgenetics and is his keepers. The Deluxe Sugarcane and frosted Apricots are from seed. The Zurple Purple is from CapeCoastHybrids and is his keeper Pheno Regular seeds. I am flowering the Frosted Apricots and the other deluxe sugarcane outdoors. The deluxe was a group buy. So the other guys ( @GGG @ORGANinc. ) have planted their seeds and we are waiting to see the results.6 points

Another week and another week closer to making some seeds. Deluxe will definatley be grown again.6 points

9.5 weeks veg. Going into 12/12 tomorrow, after getting a good pyrol spray this evening. I'll start cleaning up the bottom over the next 2 weeks. So far 3 phenos are compact. One has a lot more internodal stretch and got much taller, so has been topped again to even the canopy. After topping the stretchy pheno.3 points

Busy looking out for that sign to harvest. I took some more bud shots to survey the trichomes The trichomes all for the most part look super milky and a few still looking kinda glassy on the Jock Horror and Royal Gorilla. Heyo! I’m logging this here, and for future grows for all the strains I’m growing. I was suppose to end off with these 2 wedding cakes, however, it seems cooking the temp and tweaking things here and there have been working out alright for now. Some days I reach 35 degrees. In for a ride but positive. Growing. 2 front - @1000Hills Nursery wedding cake x smeet (will finish off in this thread) Back left - unknown white widow (thanks @SkunkPharm @GGG) Back right - In-house - Frosted apricots (partial about this one, but we will see) Feeding Water, ssts, fish hydrolysate, Epic 5:2, malted barley This specific soil contains neem leaf powder. Good day Growmies A few of us was blessed with some Charlotte's Angel CBD from @PsyCLown Thanx again bud.. I germinated 2 beans and these two will form part of my very first Indoor grow.. Quite nervous and excited at the same time.. Thnx to @zairek and @Wulf who had a big hand in the grow setup.. I will put up the setup the weekend.. The first seedling started pushing soil Monday morning and by 12 she was showing face all ready.. Both were potted up and will be grown outdoors for the first 2 weeks to strengthen them up.. Not sure how the move indoors will effect them..? Will keep you all updated weekly and thanx again Psyclown.. Cuttings will be available to Forum Members in the CPT area and Garden Route.. For free..2 points

@Cannabist thanks for letting us know. I’ve seen a similar breeder called MegaBuds. Similar in the sense of fast big yielding autoflowers. Have a look at this one cup challenge yield. May be a great alternative for customers such as myself who enjoys fast, big yielding autos.2 points

We get quite a few requests regarding these two epic breeders and really wanted to stock up on some Ethos and Mephisto Genetics's genetics, have been waiting for close to 6 months for Mephisto Genetics stock.. We reached out to our suppliers and the breeders themselves and Ethos are keen to work with us but not taking on new vendors hence the guys in SA that can get, have a bit of a monopoly with is unfortunate for us. Not sure if they will still be able to get. "We aim to maintain our standards and don't want to overstress inventory and manpower". We are on the "waitlist" of vendors. Mephisto Genetics are solely focusing on US and also can't get stock and that's all we know. "Unlikely for the foreseeable. They basically put all their resources into US market. Nothing left for us which is a shame." So as much as we would love to stock 'em, we just have to sit back and hang tight or make a plan importing via US resellers.2 points

I feel you proved my point in your response. You know what you are doing and you know what you want to do and how to go about doing it. With growing in general, there are soo many uncertainties and inconsistencies and I more research certainly needs to be done. It is not yet on the same level as typical commercial farming where the research has been done to the point where people will come out, test your soil and then be able to tell you how much fertiliser to give, when to give it, when to do this and when to do that to maximize yield. There are products which are designed to increase plant health, growth and yield but if given to your crop say in weeks 3 and 4 then it actually has the opposite effect although before and after is fine and increases yield. Cannabis I do not feel is at that level yet, some are still debating whether to flush or not. lol Different strains and phenos can have different requirements. Lots of talk about products which can assist with increasing yield, frost, terpenes etc. but how much research has been done as to how well these products work and the best way to make use of them? Research as to how safe certain substances are to use on cannabis as we smoke it and do not eat it like a lot of other crops. So I feel there is still a lot of unknowns with cannabis in general. You have not done any big "no no's" with your grow, so I guess it comes down to trial and error, testing, research and dialing everything in. If I have a suggestion or thought, I generally mention it. I think that is the best one can do at the moment. After dialing in the basics and such, I think one ends up in the unknown territory with a lot of speculation, personal preference and trying to find various ways and things to help improve ones grow. Maybe I am wrong though.2 points

I want a perpetual system between two tents. One tent with mothers and clones/seedlings and the other tent for flower. I have the mothers and clones/seedlings already going in the smaller tent. I have two mothers, two different strains and I will have another two mothers also two different strains by the end of the next run. So by July I should have 4 mothers of 4 strains that I really like and will grow perpetually for as long as desired and swap out a strain from time to time. The flower tent I want to be more uniform in terms of canopy height. The plants I took mothers from grew at the same speed and finished at pretty much the same heights, so that will help. I also want to play around with some SCRoG nets and maybe do some topping to get that spread nice and wide. I discovered that one Criminal + cola got bud rot which I swiftly removed the entirety of. Humidity has been a problem, sitting at 70% for long stretches. I made preventatives early on by adding additional silica to my feeds to help the plants fight off any mold and disease on their own. I suspect the cola was simply too big and held too much moisture (it was the size of a coke can). No other time would I complain about the size of a cola. I could be that guy that goes and blows cash on a dehumidifier or AC but mama didn't raise no sissy so I shall use alternative methods. Topping will prevent such massive colas from developing and getting a more even canopy will allow my fans to blow across all the flowers more evenly. The strains themselves for the majority appear quite resistant to any problems, also I didn't clone the Criminal +. Apart from that I'll need to figure out a way to hang my drying net because the tent I used to do that in is now occupied by the mothers and clones/seedlings. Lastly, I am considering some autopots so I can give my self some time away at some point too in the future But ja awe @PsyCLown lekker tune2 points

With jut like that, best to sell everything and go back to buying bankies from the dudes at the petrol station. You can grow weed and I am sure you can handle most issues which you may run into, so I guess the thing is - what exactly are you trying to achieve or what do you want to try do better or which aspect of your plants / grow do you want to see improvements on etc? Your plants look good and healthy. Its the first time you are running these strains, if you want to just try and improve overall - perhaps try get a better feel for each strain and adjust what you feed them accordingly... if you want to go into that much effort. I know I personally do not. I'd rather change plants and be able to have each plant receive the same strength of nutes due to time savings, its easier and less effort this way and for me personally would be a better compromise. Environment control one can only go so far without additional equipment such as an Aircon or dehumidifier and not everyone is willing or is able to justify spending the money to purchase the equipment or pay for the electricity they use as it adds up quickly.2 points

I'm sure you want a slight negative pressure in your tent, not positive pressure. I would use the fan for extraction and settle for passive intake. +1 for the Sonoff TH16, I too use one.2 points

Yeah, go easy on the ash (woodash only) as its very alkaline. Banana smoothies work well for me. Blitz half to one banana per plant in a food processor (peels and all) with dechlorinated water. (I do banana, apple, comfrey, aloe vera and mix in a bit of carrot and potato peels) You can mix in some molasses 25 - 50ml as well. Then dilute in 20lt water and feed your flowering plants. As an option you can add some organic flowering nutes as well. Just keep ratios and strength of the mix in mind. Plain molasses in water also works well, it feeds the microbes, who in turn feed your plants.2 points

The Sonoff TH16 is a decent option as are these: https://www.botshop.co.za/product/stc-3028-temperature-and-humidity-controller-220v/?dTribesID=8a39de08ff8b3b134be2df5a9f4c5a32|adtribes|58226&utm_source=Google Shopping&utm_campaign=Google feed&utm_medium=cpc&utm_term=58226&gclid=Cj0KCQiA9P__BRC0ARIsAEZ6iriJV3QRKb90jqTBaqif1T25Mhz9W31NiBtDDSW1K8Pf_EeTJyyrg5UaApWsEALw_wcB They both do the same thing, connect something to it and then they will turn it on / off based on the parameters (Temperature or humidity). Zephyr Farms stock AC Infinity fans which come with a nice controller and a probe for temp and RH, the fan can then be set to certain speeds depending on the RH or temp. Although ultimately, an aircon and/or dehumidifier may be needed depending on the ambient temp and ambient humidity. These typically will turn off at the set temperature or humidity automatically and kick in again when the temp or humidity increases outside of the set range.2 points

So now we wait and see if it really is an auto or if its just showing sex. Should know shortly. Regarding flowering times, not uncommon for breeders to state a flowering period which is shorter than what will be achieved. Best is to check the trichomes before harvesting, I never work off the breeders timeline as in my experience it has always been incorrect and the plants need an extra week or two. Depending on the pheno variation, sometimes even longer!2 points

Nice one, plant looks great so far! Super lemon haze is a sativa from what I know, that plant should flower between 13-15 weeks. Just so you can manage your expectations. I might be wrong, but I'm pretty sure that's how I know it. Other sites say 10 week, but usually when they say its 8, its more like 12.2 points

Aweh greenfingers, 1st things first- Purple pineapple smoke report is goooood. With such a short time in the jar the smoothness was unexpected....she plays nice and euphoric but as soon as you decide to chill/relax, she puts you to glorious sleep. On to newer things.... Endevouring to adapt our grow technique to comply with the new (to be gazetted) laws. Strain and pheno hunting aside herewith the ladies that made it to the big flower league. Most are local crosses, the Fruitpunch f4 and Purple Pineapple being my own project lines. The 'new' (ever evolving) amended soil is coming into its own, no deficiencies thus far. Had a dash of Ca and Mg problems last year, but no probs currently, leaving time to focus on organic IPM evolution, hence the tomato leaf and catnip extract spray applications. Had some good results so far with the spider mites/ aphids, with Margaret Roberts keeping the worms under control. If you look at each plant's presentation you can see which are in preflower and which are preparing to go into preflower. Depending on their genetics they all react differently to light and the flowering window. Go big or go home. Cheers vir eers.2 points

Ez 420SA crew. I have the below unit which I purchased last year. I used for this last auto grow which turned out okay, but there is room for improvement. On the whole this unit seems a little flimsy and I'm not sure if it is accurate . Is there any way to test its accuracy? I have some super fire genes coming from the some friends in the USA, so for the the next two months I am going on a mission to get my tent dialed in to perfect parameters for the cultivation of these wonderful plants. I don't have an issue spending some tin(within reason), provided it is going to further me on my quest for the perfect environment. What are you using in your tents? What product would you spend on if you had the means?1 point

Hmm, that's really not cool. Will you guys consider stocking some more expensive seeds such as In House Genetics?1 point

I live with China parts and a tupperware box 2 ventilation setup, one in, one out for each. The box handles 4 6inch inliners. Tent was dark when i took the picture.. but still easy to read. Humidity handling inside the tent. Temp i cook outside the tent. The humidity handling inside is only to not run into PM issues. I avoid anything over 60% during flower on the inside.1 point

I have one like those, it just sits and does its thing. But my pride and joy is Sonoff Th16 switch I think it is. You can connect it to a heater and it has a probe that measure temperature and humidity, So you can actually regulate a desired temperature or humidity through this nifty WIFI switch. (depending on what you connect it too) Available at Communica... Thanks to this forum.1 point

Good evening Growmies.. So I separated the male from the rest just in time before his first premature ejaculation... I could not collect any pollen so will wait for the next flowers.. He is now on my bedside table to ensure he does not get lucky with the autos.. The rest have not yet shown sex but they healthy atleast.. Little bit of heat stress and probably a bit root bound but no real issues.. I'll pot them up as soon as they show sex and get rid of any extra males.. The runts are tagging along and it is the first real mutants I had to deal with.1 point

Ooooh you just got to love flowering cannabis. It's just so cool to see the progression from growth tips to mini budlets. I finished the second week of flower and I am quite happy with the progress. Really excited to see the end yield. Hopefully 300g dry trim weight on the low end. Happy new year to all fellow growers. May the year yield good results Glookies Uppercut Chocolate Haze Purple Queen "Special" clone Full tent1 point

Just a quick update on the progress the ladies are making. I did a second round flush to try and get the soil as free from excess nutrient build up as possible. I thought this might make the feeding schedule going into flower a little bit easier to ensure no lockout and less build up in the soil. I also cleaned up the ladies to try and focus growth on the primary bud sites I want to develop. Will probably flip in 3 to 4 weeks Chocolate Haze Purple Queen Old school Upper Cut Glookies Supercropped clone 20201207_192346.jpg1 point

Aweh fellow greenfingers, 1-2. This F1 Purple pineapple stacking very well. Terps are a funky and fruity, she is stacking well and hopefully she puts on weight in the right places. 3. Chocolope bagseed ''opslag'' girl decided to reveg out of the blue. Her colours are just on milky, think I'll harvest all but 2 reveg colas and then cut some clones. Like her spicy terps profile. 4. 2 more Purple pineapple girls that are going to donate some clones in the name of science.... 5-6. Next gen babies.... Bubblegum, White widow and Fruitpunch f4's. They are looking a bit worse for wear due to a spidermite problem, had to dose them hard with a soap/canola mix. But they are pulling through. 7-8. Swazi gold...ishhh bagseed girl doing well despite the mites. Mother nature hasn't been playing fair the last 2 months. Week long rainy spells, sky high RH mixed with 36 to 39deg days in between. Talk about hell and high water, got a oscillating fan for the greenhouse to help with ventilation etc. 9. At least the tomatoes are bearing fruit.....1 point

I do as little as possible. I do however spend time watering the plants every day. But mostly I just try to keep it simple. It starts with a good soil. This is my 3rd round of growing in the same soil this year. And spend money on good genetics. Buy clones from reputable people or try to find good seeds some where and grow regular seeds. You will see the difference. @Totemic just lauched some nice seeds at a good price check out his site or buy here on the forum.1 point

Aweh fellow greenies. Life is doing that curveball thing...as if covid wasn't enough. Ladies haven't been getting all the attention they deserve but they still looking good. Had almost a week of cold and rainy days, wpm and budrot here they come..... 1-2. This Purple Pineapple lady just exploded as can be seen from the internodal spacing. Maybe the Bio Ocean pellet topdress and mung beans had something to do with it or could be a combo of f1 vigour which is positive, but she can't hide her sativa genes. Only topped her once, wanted her to express as naturally as possible. Not a drop of wpm on her so far, which is a good sign as she is in pre flower. 3-4. Seedsman Lemoncello is filling out nicely. The mielie SST and molasses in between normal feeding is doing the thing for the flowering girls. She is smelling awesome and her nugs are dense and frosty. 5-6. The Purple Stilton lady is also doing well, she's putting on decent weight despite the crap weather. Defoliated all the leaves with signs of wpm, trichomes are mostly milky, just want a few ambers. Hoping I can get her to the harvest line because she is frosty as a snowcone and smells bloody awesome.1 point
