What medium are they in? Looks like a hot medium, causing nute burn...

Hi guys. ordered these on Saturday! They just arrived from the above mentioned. Wow so smooth tracking and communication on point the entire time. These came out of Jhb side of the world!!

@StickyD420 Some good info, thanks for sharing. I working towards a no till bed as it seems cheaper and less work in the long term. I find water source and ph to be my biggest issues. What natural goodies do you use to PH? Hi Zol, I have tried various ways and cheapest best way is that pink( green these days) insulation that they put in the roofs, it's about R500 for 5-10m depending on 40 or 100mm, and if you combine it with pegboard even better. It costs 25% of the price of the acoustic foams you get. The 100mm works best. I even went to a acoustic ingeneer and he agreed. Only other thing that work great is weight, like a brick wall. Seems that medium is too hot. Seedlings and young plants struggle with a too hot (nutrient rich) medium. You can flush, basically you gonna flush a lot of the nutes out of the soil, defeating the purpose of using that soil in the first place. They allready suffering, they may pull through or they might not, but they will take a knock either way. What I would do.....carefully transplant the seedling out to a smaller pot with a ''blander'' medium. Let them recover and start growing again. When they are ready transfer them back. Heed the suggestions of the other growers and decide what you want to do. Auto's are unforgiving as they are on their own internal timer. The droopyness could be ''overwatering'' related and those brown tips might be nutrient burn related. I don't feed my seedlings untill about the 3rd node. But it's a different case as I use my own soil. What is in your medium and how it was prepared may also play a part. a. Indoor/outdoor? b. Strains? c. Photo or auto d. What medium e. Preparation f. Plant growth regulators So I've always wondered about the reasoning behind the low doses triacontanol is recommended to be sprayed at which is about 1ml/10litres... So I've run a test on 2 plants. Sprayed them at 10ml/10litres once every week for 4 weeks in veg. Didn't take pics cos it was just a personal experiment. Seeing the results this far makes me want to share it. I've already removed tons of branches due to how thick and short it has started flowering at.

I get what you going for, and I like it honestly. Give me second though... You might be pleased without the soundproof material, so maybe first set it all up, and take it from there, and you could end up thanking me for not spending that money and time. You can always purchase and put it on afterwards, without a hassle.

If you attach something on the ends or corners, that sticks through the insulation and you cant fasten or put a cap on, or just glue / double sided tape the ends or corners only, then it's not all over, should hold. Magnetic would be good if you had them on hand, but dont go out and pay for them, was just a thought really.

Glue normally means for good, tape would be removable I'd guess if you ever need to remove or change setup. You said metal box, what about magnetic tacs, flat head drawing pins for the wood?

Yip, if my choice yes. You must be happy though. I wouldn't soundproof the room, unless that is for temps only and or you are mounting the extraction fan inside that grow area, it wouldn't really be needed. More so for the fans I'd say... I have 3 fans running and one extraction fan, when that room's door is closed, nobody in my house would know a thing. When I go sleep though and dead of night, i can hear the oscillating noise, clicking. No air noise or extraction noise. I also dont have insulation and I never go over 28deg or below 18deg at extremes.

Maybe the best would be to just get the 50mm.. Then I can double up wherever possible..

If you compress the 100, you will have 50, with a density of a 100. My opinion

50mm also works depends on the loudness of the sound, you can try it on the outside 1st and go from there, the other benefit is it helps with insulating temps also [emoji6] Sent from my F5321 using Tapatalk

That's a good point you make, you could compress that material and make it thinner, but not sure if it would suffice the same sound deadening measures as before. It should still work according to me.

That is the best for the job, if you can get it local and cost is good for you, I say go for it brother, as you cant go wrong with that too as @GGG mentioned, and his advice is solid.

Totally agree this post and my want to share all cane from a bad experience with another online bank I started a thread on about 2 or 3 weeks ago. I went in the search for banks that would reply to me etc and this one and another very small but cool bank in Cpt called Hey bud helped me with some seeds as well, nicely priced just not the biggest variety but reliable. Your ducting will fit on the ends of the fan, so wont make the fan noise go away, that's if your fans even make a noise. What I've seen, is a soundproof box made that houses the fans, both, and the ducting directions from there to and from area. I think you have the general idea and direction, with a good understanding now, and I know you'll do just fine.

Ideally, cold air in at bottom and hot out on top, as hot air rises. Plus, CO2 is heavier than O2, and by thus removing air from the top, you removing the O2 and keeping the CO2 inside. What you can do, is mount it up, off the floor and out of the dust, and pipe it down into the room, or better, filter the air in as most would advise you and for more cleaner air and plant growth. You can get that later as your on a budget as most of us are. Peace

Most grow rooms are not soundproofed, and your extraction fan and inlet fan, I take it would be outside your grow space, no? If that is the case, you dont need to soundproof the grow area, the lights and plants are not going to make any sound, nor your 30cm fan. You'll want to silence the extract fan and inlet fan only. My understanding.

Strange... Maybe lower the wattage a bit. Mine are set to about 75w each, zero heatsink, and a small pc fan blowing on it and the light is just above room temps

The rule of every few days is marginally flawed. It works to a point and as a very rough guide. A more accurate approach would be to do the pickup test... You are running coco so it's real easy... The coco pots will literally be light as fuck... Almost no weight at all... That's when you know you need to water them. When the plants are small like that... One cup of water is enough for a very long time, what size pots are those? And take the twisty tie off not sure why it's there... Be careful not to damage the fragile stem when taking it off. If it's LST, the plant has to have a few nodes before it will be effective... What you are doing is just making the stem skew because you have tied the plant at the bottom. Lst's purpose is to bring the top of the plant lower... Exposing lower growth shoots to more direct light.

Yeah this supplier only stocks Humboldt and Dinafem breeders not Barney’s farm. must have been a different bank. The packaging I got from him are def legit Humboldt seeds and packaging.

Jarred the Royal Gorilla, total dry weight is 54g The GDP weighed in at 36g. So the total grow for two plants with my wonky mainline came in at 90g Which brings this grow to a close. My conclusion is that my yields were diminished by a poorly structured mainline that had way too many side shoots that produced pissy little airy buds that took away from the main colas. I went in mentally wanting to see what would happen if certain shoots were left to grow along with the main stems but not nearly any of them grew anything noteworthy. I have a really good idea of how I want to mainline my next plants and go back to a similar method that I incorporated in my first grow; designating and favouring the main stems and focusing energy to the main colas with a tactfully done defolation to complement. I also experimented with heavy fluctuations in temperature between lights on and lights off during flower, which yielded in the most colour production I've seen on any of my plants so far. I do feel that I started too early with the fluctuations; essentially at flip. I think it would have been better to do it closer to the end and final week of flowering, during the ripening stage. The overall temperature of both plants during the entire flowering period was quite cold in general, averaging at about 15C I'd guess, with lows as far as 11C. Although no adverse affects were experienced health wise, I do feel it had diminished potential yields. Tasty buds have been grown and enjoyed regardless. Speaking of, having had some of the Gran Daddy Purple after a week of drying and a further week of curing, it is a very mellow almost meditative strain. I wouldn't suggest any thought-heavy tasks while on the GDP as the mind really wants to wonder. I would say it is very good for stress and winding down in the evenings. A bitter grapefruit aroma can be enjoyed from the grinder after crushing a little bit of the herb. It's a sneaky one too with a drawn out affect. You wonder where the high is initially and as you wonder, you keep wondering, only to realise further down the line that you are in fact quite stoned. I would definitely like to grow this strain again. Once I have had some time with the Royal Gorilla I'll post a little short something something

When you say garden soil I assume you mean garden master, culterra and all that shite. By all means don't use that soil. You won't find a good soil for cannabis at most nurseries or builders warehouse. You'll need to look to a grow shop for a commercially available soil for cannabis, that works. I mix my own and every grower should have a crack at mixing their own soil at some time in their growing. You may find yourself not turning back
