  1. @MissMayhem I agree with @420SA too much foliage is a issue, the problem with bad infestations is that removing leaves also spreads it further and to other plants. Before removing the foliage try some of the advice mentioned above or some of what I post here to kill existing PM first. In the few gardens I visit PM is the main problem guys need help with this season. Growers report good success with Applecider vinegar mixed with plain water. I also recommend a clear alcohol like vodka or gin instead of the vinegar to be mixed with water as it's a bit cheaper and more readily available in the ghetto. Instead of spraying the solution onto the whole plant I also recommend using a soft brush, dipped in your solution to wash the leaves with. You will notice PM turning yellow or brown, sign of success, remove those treated leaves, repeat the process, buds that are infected might not be saved. Cinnamon is also used as a control measure for PM, but in veg, and more so when the PM first starts. Hope this helps a bit, happy growing
  2. Looks like you have calyx stacker pheno there @Smelly Joe, some have stacked so tight it's like little resin balls. Others make that classic square pompoms at the start wit bit less stretch, the more kush like pheno. Is her Terps more fruity, or minty, could lean either way, but those usually a almost apricot tasting sweetness. These hybrids surprised me with flavour, could also lean to the fruity gas side, almost a citrus gas. And POTENT
  3. Chunky looking girl right there, looks like a nice spot to grow a few
  4. I would say you are entering the the harvest window, which could last a few weeks depending on the strain. The original blueberry was selected by breeding a lot of Thai genetics then crossed with a indica. To me it looks like your plant is leaning more to the Thai bud (I can be 100% wrong) which will have a much longer finishing time. You could drop your light cycle to 11/13 if you want to rush it along. Looking at the fresh pistils on the bud you are at early stages, depending on the type of high you would like, you can either harvest bit earlier or wait a bit more, 1 or 2 weeks I would guess till all pistils are swollen.
  5. That is crazy growth in a 45l, and still managable to move around, perhaps a smallish greenhouse situation will see her through, or next to a sunny sheltered north facing wall. It's the only hope I have for a Hawaiian I got growing, still in veg mode.
  6. She is looking awesome man, lovely structure with those real thin leaves letting in sun to the lower bud sites. She looks like a real producer, can see that shiz is well grown, super happy haze!
  7. Thanks man, it gets a lot of sun an shielded from the south. North facing walls are good spots for Kush (most strains will love it) plants if one lives next to the coast. Thanks for the kind words bro, stoked you dig the KushCookies u got going, hope those flowers will be among your favs! I have few more "legends" carrying seeds, and some cuttings will get frozen pollen later on, got to stay busy, and smoke alotta seedy bud! In the waiting line is Blue Gelato 41, WeddingCake, a Hawaiin and a CBD heavy mom's cuttings. Then hopefully get to sifting through some of the new hybrids I made last year, but will probably send out to testers as it's too many strains for just me.
  8. Quick update on the California Kush hybrid as well as the BlackD.O.G getting seeded, some of my first crosses for 2020. In the previous pictures I posted you can see there is a slight N deficiency with the Kush plant, I think this is partly due to a heavy K feed a bit early on in flowering. Gave her some more N as well as MG and she is looking nice and lush again. The first two pictures are of the Kush plant, followed by the BD.
  9. Sneak peak to my new Californian Kush imbred line, the sister of FruityPuke, quite pregnant at this stage Next up is a cutting from the BlackDOG, heavily seeded, FruityPuke pollen. I'll leave the other pregnancies as a mystery for now, happy growing yall!!!
  10. Time for a little update on this project, so after the last run I have one Shebert pheno mom, the first picture is a cutting of her, heavily pregnant (my FruityPuke Kush dad) on the preflowers. The second picutue is a s1 (selfcross) of the above mom, also heavily pregnant with FruitPuke pollen. They are receiving some light, heat and drought stress to check for the herm trait, so far this sherbert has not shown any signs. Ill reduce the stresses now so that they can flower out and produce some good quality seed and buds. Keeping the spidermites in check by simply brushing them (and those eggs) off with a makeup brush, my new fav organic method!
  11. Yo, @Smelly Joe , things are looking legit! Very nice pictures and what a background indeed Love that picture with the Mesculitos standing gaurd, I think she woulda hermed from that previous stress by now, and if its a fullblown herm it usually shows up very early, might be the case with one of @Bospatrollie2 s ladies. Happy growing bro, i just love this part of the season, almost as much as fall, thanks again for the effort, restecpa!
  12. Looking good @SmokeyZero , when she settles in the growth is going to explode I think. Well done bringing em back from the mites bro, happy growing vibes
  13. @Bospatrollie2 , in retrospect I should have mentioned the herm trait in the original Cookies mom i used, but I thought the GCBirds haven't hermed on us yet, why I decided to send some out as testers. I think @Smelly Joe had to cull some runts and also a hermi if i recall from the Kush Cookies f2's, or it was just a male. The reason I didnt drop my Cookies line is because of the stellar plants that do not go hermi. Hope the flavours and high of your remaining girls make it worth it. Stil planning to get you guys some sealed breeder packs as a thank you for being my first testers. Will post about it in the SpringDrop thread, time just not my friend right now. Happy growing man, peace and buds!
  14. Hi @Bospatrollie2 , flip sorry about the lady, does look like heatstress, perhaps the roots got a bit dry with the heat, she needs those tropical vibes. There is a herm trait with my Cookies, not so much with the GiantCookieBirds (havent grown out that many tho), the original Cookies mom I received hermed pretty easily from stress, this was back in 2015, Cookies was not really around, so I worked with that mother plant to create 2 hybrids with my Stable Kush genes. The GiantCookieBird's were pollinated by a very nice KushCookies male. I must add it is usually some stress that brings on the herms, space for the other girls in the greenhouse, sorry bout that downer.
  15. Final pictures of him, threw a lot of pollen, the rest will be bagged n tagged for storage. Got some cuttings in a cloner will see if they root. Plant was grown without any bloom boost or flowering nutrients. It looks to have good flower formation and still stanky dank smells coming off the stalks.
  16. Sjoe must be the real original madjad @420SA , my best guess its like the olden day madjad that "didn't get you high", but can give a headache if you smoke too much, if its not fake. It could be a marketing ploy, or by some chance I would think a field or two that has been inbred for generations (but 9% cbd....)(or somebody polinated a CBD heavy strain there). If there was a field with the dominant cbd trait, simialar to industrial hemp, that could then crossbred with the more potent TK's like Lisikisiki, just guesses. PortSaint Johns strains always had some hippy influence, EasternCape is a pretty big place and some massive fields, who knows. Any link?
  17. Hi @420sake , feel free to post here in the breeders group, its a group for any 420SA members to participate (any interested members can request a invite) You can create threads here in the group as well, it would be awesome to see what the kznclub is up too, stoked to hear that there are collaborations going on regarding breeding. Creating a new DP gene pool by KZN breeders/growers will probably result in one of the finest DP's around. It really helps having guys with the palettes that saw and tasted the oldschool DP, you guys will be able to improve the strain with selective breeding I'm sure. Great to hear about the HIV work that you guys are doing, some strains are really effective and improve the quality of HIV/AIDS patients lives by a lot.
  18. Hi @Smelly Joe , she is looking mooi dude, and going to enjoy that topdressing going into flower That yellow spot on the leaf could be some bleaching from the sun, or a variegated leaf, we find them in the KushCookies F2's, none of them will create any major issues I think.
  19. @PsyCLown its got a few spidermites (big surprise there ), but here is the cutting my friend gave me the other day. He has made quite a few more cuttings as I mentioned all the interest on the forum. Going to try organise one or two on the house mahala for you guys, minus the spider mites
  20. The PH range that needs to be tweaked is pretty tight, 5.8 - 6.5 (ignore the bits about the extremes), weed should be aight, but again im on about soil and not even brewing, derailing the thread a bit. Proof is in the puddin always
  21. I forgot to mention some important details, but didn't include it as I am lately just inoculating my soils at different stages with different mixes. Didn't think its relevant but let me explain, seeing a lot of you guys are doing this with DWC it might be applicable, at the very least quite interesting. The trick in soil after inoculations to control a fungi or bacterial dominate soil life is simply to control the ph of the medium. Also bear in mind like mentioned above when looked under a microscope you will find both fungi and bacteria, however with PH adjustments, you can let one thrive and the other struggle a little bit. What PH does bacteria prefer? Most bacteria grow best around neutral pH values (6.5 - 7.0), but some thrive in very acid conditions and some can even tolerate a pH as low as 1.0. Such acid loving microbes are called acidophiles. Even though they can live in very acid environments, their internal pH is much closer to neutral values. What PH does fungi prefer? In comparison, fungi thrive at slightly acidic pH values of 5.0–6.0. Microorganisms that grow optimally at pH less than 5.55 are called acidophiles. So in a nutshell soil gets inoculated (need to setup for brewing again) and then I try keep PH at around 6.5 - 7.0 for veg, then drop it down to about 5.8 - 6.0 for flowering. I do this mostly with the water/water+feed that the plants receive. Maybe the same is possible in DWC, however I do know with brewing teas sometimes PH goes all over the place.
  22. Ok he just got named "FruityPuke" #fruitypuke at Dank - 420SA
  23. I got sent some free regular Kush beans as part of a order from the States. It is apparently from a legendary Kush dad in California. I culled one male from the batch, but one special male plant emerged. The smells coming off the stalk is pungent, fruity and pukey at the same time. Pretty sure this is more HinduKush / Afgani leaning as opposed to OgKush. This bud has popped out in about a week, super fast trigger, will post some more pics as he flowers out. He will be doing some natural pollination with a few select ladies, will also collect pollen as well as take some cuttings to keep him backed up.
  24. Creating this thread to showcase the male Cannabis plants that make it into my breeding programs.
  25. I think they will love the training, their ancestors were hacked back about 3 times in a season and still hit 3m, but no sideways training. When buds get bigger you could add stakes or wire fencing to support the buds. Super hungry plants, they going to enjoy their treats! All of the best, peace and buds
