Yo @1000Hills Nursery super stoked they are alive and well, surving the darkness and the cold The leaves were advice from a orchid guru that ships live plants around. I didnt have any low ec cococoir or dried moss to package them, so i went for the dried leaves. Its a big pleasure brother, i hope that they bring u lots of growing and perhaps breeding joy! Sure thing man, so the Exodus Cheese cut is a old mom down here by the coast, and definitely verified by the community. Was donated to me as a contribution to my library. The Weddingcake cut was donated to me as well, i have no info on it except, "Its Weddingcake... or BirthdayCake, same thing really". She is super loud and stoney, not for first time smokers. Lots of gas accompanied by sweetness, almost a rum and raisins Icecream. The CBD Heavy was also donated to me, info is also vague, except that it might be related to the Otto #2 cut in Colorado. This is true medical weed. Onto the seeds, the Dankstar Kush is a strain i worked on in the illegal days, they are from 2015 (i hope they pop!). My Afghani and Hindu Kush selection with hints of my Blueberry from their great grandparents. Plants should be a bit more squat than average hybrids these days, couple of phenotypes, but smoke should be a creamy earthy sweetness, some are very close to a good charas, some lean more to a kind of vanilla kush. The Strawberry Bubblegum Kush is a hybrid of the Chocolate Kush daddy onto a rare AK 47 Strawberry Bubblegum pheno. I lost the mom unfortunately. Should be some Strawberry and hopefully Bubblegum terps coiming out in this cross, u will be sifting these beans before me. Ill hopefully get to pop a couple this season. The Chocolate Hashberry Kush is a F1 IBL cross from the Chocolate Kush male and a mystery mom from California. I was only given details about the dad in this cross. So the Chocolate Kush daddy comes from a clone only plant in California called Chocolope Cheese (the mom), she was crossed with a select Moroccan Hashplant male. Excpect a boquet of Cali bud, u testing these before me as well, should be good, enjoy em! Two packets with 20 beans each are kids from the same daddy. He is the first stud i featured here4 points

Our outdoor grows only recieves rainwater, collected from the roof. Have a pressure pump rigged up on a manifold system to send it where we need it, including the circulation line for aeration. Rain water is usually collected from rooftops etc... and will include some dodgy bits, hadeda/hammerkop poop and gecko carcasses, which will contain bacteria. If you collect from the roof think about installing some pre filtration to keep the solids(leaves twigs) out and a sediment filter for the dust and sand. You will need to seal it properly because it will attract mosquitos. Circulation is good to keep the water aerated. A maintenance dose of hydrogen peroxide will also help keep the bacteria in check. Have a look on google and decide what will work best for your setup. Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk3 points

Now to the cherry on top.... Beanz... Beanz... Beanz... I'm not gonna eloborate to much on these beanz as we plan on dropping them right away and will be start a grow diary for them. @Dank brother thank you again for this amazing priceless gift. If you can please share some info on these beanz and the cuts you sent me.3 points

What's quite remarkable is that this parcel spent 3 days in darkness whilst it made its trip to me. I have never seen cuttings packed the way they were with wet dead leaves from the garden. When I unpacked them they were in great shape considering. Here they are making themselves at home amongst their new sisters and a few brothers. @Dank wonderful job... All the cuttings you sent look like they gonna root...3 points

420sa... Hope you all blazing some homegrown... Firstly I would like to thank @Dank for initiating this. I see this growing and connecting the community on another level. Some background... I've been searching for a decent cheese cut to replace the cut I lost. Unfortunately every pack I popped produced nothing close to what I was looking for. Recently I was gonna have another go at hunting for a cheese when I got into talking with fellow forum member @DankHe was kind enough to share some of the finer details with regards to breeding. Long story short oneday he hits me up... He has a verified danky exodus cheese cut... Fast foward a couple weeks and this rocks up on my doorstep... To date the most special gift I've ever received So what you seeing here is 2 x rooted Exodus Cheese clones. And then some live cuttings. Wedding Cake CBD Heavy Exodus cheese So out came the cloning gear and I had those babies in some coco plugs and in the dome in no time.3 points

This is my second one I'm doing like this, seems to work, only thing I put in a seperate container is the teabag with some FF premium and local soil from a healthy patch. I also scoop 1L from the vortex and add my molasses to that and stir till that's dissolved and pour it back. Luckily I have liquid vermi pure so add that directly to the vortex. Then I have a bunch of microbial addatives, but decided to go with "eco-T" as it dissolves in the water itself where as the mycorrizhae will just float and I already got it mixed in the soil aswell as the mycoroot from hortishop, but those are small stones so I will keep them out for now. Anyway, here is my pooptea2 points

AQ sf is Ampelomyces quisqualis. I've heard Prom say Serenade works well, so if you're keen to import perhaps try that too. I feel AQ sf is best used as a preventative but it can work in controlling an outbreak too, although Serenade sounds better for an outbreak. I'd also look at putting the heater inside the tent, instead of having it blow through ducting. Sent from my Redmi Note 7 Pro using Tapatalk2 points

Cold and maybe roots a bit wet. Doesnt look like anything to worry about. Allow the medium to dry out a bit more.2 points

Perfect, I have experienced before the transplanting and have the carry on as nothing happens. I was intrigued by the the fact that you might know why the leaves wouldn't stand up the day after transplanting them, as I have had that once before in the start of this, but not again. Always wondered what that might have been causing it not to praise the light or lift awake. Had thought unhappy roots.2 points

Hey bud. If the tanks are SABS approved and of the colour variety, ie: green, you good to go. 5000l will keep you going for a long time. It is a good idea to rotate the water from one tank to the other if you can. After about 2 week's water goes flat so this process aerates the water. Or find yourself one of those fish tank air thingy majiky's and drop that in your tank, switch on every now and again and you'll be ok. If you have a pump, hook the hose pipe up and circulate the water back into top of tank. Sent from my DRA-LX5 using Tapatalk2 points

How is it going? I can recommend using AQ sf, bio organics sell it - they're based in cape Town but will ship. Other retailers sell it too, such as Jamie's garden shop. It basically eats away the PM, although takes a bit of time to get working as it's spores which need to germinate. Safe to use during flower. Also removing leaves and having a fan in your tent, the pm spores have already spread. I was thinking of trying one of those disinfectant foggers which kill all microbes and spores for fungus and mould etc to clean out my tent and equipment between grows - have not yet tried it but I think it could work. Get it blowing through my extraction fan and oscillating fans and onto my lights etc. Milk and water also works, if you're in a hurry mixing the AQ sf with milk seems to work well, the milk helps control the pm straight away and then the AQ sf takes over a little later although you still need to continue to spray, I'd say at least once a week to ensure it remains under control, last thing you want is for the pm to blow up before harvest. I haven't tried vinegar or bicarb, I'm not sure how I feel about using neem on plants in flower and I'd also suggest using a neem oil made for plants specially and not the one from Dischem (it may even be cheaper than the dischem one). Agro organics also sell a neem oil as do Neudorff. I have heard that keeping your temps between 22 and 26 can help prevent the pm spores from germinating and therefore ensure you do not end up with pm on your plants - never tried it myself and probably a little late for you. You'd need a heater and decent thermostat to achieve that though. Sent from my Redmi Note 7 Pro using Tapatalk2 points

Wassup 420 fam. Started my first indoor grow about 2 weeks ago. Not much happening at the moment... Strain- Original Orange Bud Auto from Biltong and Buds. Medium- Freedom Farms Classic Pot Size- ± 13 L Grow Space- ± 50x50x 180cm Lighting- 120w QB from @Master_G Light schedule- 18/6 Nutes- EHG Grow, Micro and Bloom Prayer Soaked seed for 12 hours then into jiffy pellet. Germination was slow and first true leaves were a bit on the yellow side. Not sure if its due to cold CPT weather or bad genetics. I'm just happy Stella got her groove back. Watering with only dechlorinated tapwater at pH 6 every 2-5 days Entering week 3 now and she's coming along nicely. Can I start feeding nutrients at this stage or should I wait another week or so?1 point

I have used Biogrow Pyrol for Mildew on my Parsley outside and gave my plants a spray with them and never had any issues for about 3 weeks now, also killed the bugs on my Cauliflower outside.1 point

Usually rainwater is pretty clean, depending on how its collected. You just need to keep it that way. If I don't circulate my tank for 2 weeks, it starts to smell (anearobic) I started just with circulation (750w 2500lt/h pump) and then added a 250ml 50% strength maintenance dose once a month. Hydrogen Peroxide can be used for larger volume water purification. The dosages need to be spot on or it will oxidize too quickly and not ''clean'' the water properly. The dosage volumes also make it impractical. Adding half a cup of chlorine or Jik is much easier than lugging litres of peroxide. Testing for free chlorine in water is also much more convenient. Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk1 point

@Chris Jay, Water quality requirements for human consumption are much more stringent, for obvious reasons. Chlorine is preferred because it kills most, if not all of the pathogems that are dangerous to humans.(Choliforms, E.Coli, Bacillus, Legionaires) And if the chlorine is not exposed to direct sunlight it stays in the water for a long time doing its job. Peroxide has a short metabolic path and is quickly reduced to H2 and O2 But as an organic grower I don't want to water my plants with chlorinated water as it will kill all my good microbes. Our rainwater is used exclusively for the garden hence the use of peroxide, which is slightly more cost effective and assists to oxygenate the water. 1.Treatments for borehole water vary depending on quality, but usually involve a large primary reservoir for settling out sediment. 2. Secondary stage with sand and activated charcoal filtering. 3. Third stage for ph correction and either chlorine addition or membrane filtration before consumption, depending on which is preferred. UV radiation treatment is also a good final treatment for added peace of mind. Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk1 point

I should elaborate more for better understanding if anyone needs the details. I was looking at buying one of those sealed units with UVB bulbs and inlet and outlet fans, you'd often see at the hospitals and so forth, and you'll even see open with grids on, at the butcher's or supermarket, and told my mate I used to assist with growing. To which he told me soon after, that he found a place for half the price, but the catch was we had to build it, so knowing i like to build stuff said sure thing... And then came back with this UVC bulb jobby...1 point

The light was on the right hand side for 2 hours and absolutely dried out those leaves the light touched, so much that they broke if touched or the fan was too strong, so it needs to be in a light proof tube basically with air passing through to clean the air. The day before this those plants looked so good and they stopped growing that much afterwards.1 point

Yeah in meters both tent and room. I have a flowering tent currently 1.2x 1.2 I have a small 90x90cm little veg tent that has a 100w LED QB busy used at night when flowering tent is off. I’ve cleaned that tent out as well. Not the ideal situation and don’t plan to have grows so close to each other. Situations unfortunately forced me into this situation.1 point

Yip, I would say DP is one of the top 5 strains in the world! There are defiantly local guys breeding DP genetics now that it has become popular, and in demand. I think it is more marketing than anything. Below is a Lesotho landrace strain ( close to the original DP ) that "we" been growing for a couple of seasons. Lovely producer and closest to sativa I have seen. https://twitter.com/softsecrets_usa/status/12572768179474022401 point

I stand to be corrected, and understand the carbon filter will kill the mold, so I imagine no need to clean it too, someone else can verify that as I've never looked into it. When I had mildew, I bought a hand held 18w UV light and basically used that and spray, and then washed my bud, as by the time you notice it, as @PsyCLown said, the spores are all over and you are now basically trying to control its outbreak to minimum, and as since having a dehumidifier with HEPA filter and doing precaution spray of Neem once a month, up till flip to flowering, and good air circulation in the room, up or down and horizontally oscillating fans, I've not had anything in 2 years now.1 point

600L per hour bro. So 10L per min. Should be ok. As long as its not pumping too high. If u hear the pump struggling for 10 seconds or so as its pushing. Switch off I see it says max height 1m. So thats ur limit there. Unless u raise the pump to minimize the height it has to pump1 point

Ah yes, they are water logged from the last watering that they had, the watering on Friday they cant suck up yet as they drowning. Not badly, so just dry it out a little, wait for Friday to water again at the soonest in my opinion.1 point

Yeah this is pretty much it really@StickyD420 Discolouration to notice deficiencies or lockouts to narrow down any causes if there are. Also to correct them before it gets severe... Deficiencies that show on the leaves usually exist in the plant a good while before you can see it. Leaf health - drooping and wrinkles - helps judge soil conditions a bit and overall health of the plant. I've transplanted trees before just after lights on, and they carried on with their day as if nothing happened, so I feel it would be quite noticeable if the transplant had any ill effects. I think you all should go light up and give yourself a pat on the back. I have learnt FCUK tons on lighting over the last few days. On my drive back into the wilderness today I decided I'm going diy with growopz seeing that I have already started chatting with him. If my budget stock is not available, well then save and wait and upgrade that way. Give me time to figure out how to start a thread and I'll let you in on my crazy but determined journey to here. Thanks everyone, I'll figure out how to @ a person. Sent from my DRA-LX5 using Tapatalk1 point

Yip, a labour of love. Been collecting, documenting since before it was cool. Mates still joke about me smoking malawi twak. Some of our landraces are listed on Phylos Galaxy and also being tested in Spain, Lesotho and Israel. Last night was the 2020 HighLife Cup, it was quite cool to be mentioned, and lost in translation with regards to Durban Poison. Durban Poison article coming out soon, 2500 words and counting. Dreaming big, looking forward and planting those seeds.1 point

..and we are back ere'body! With a bit of revision and some lessons learnt from the last incomplete grow, I am on the way with Royal Gorilla as well as a Grandaddy Purple. Royal Queen Seeds - Royal Gorilla Green Smoke Room Seeds - Gran Daddy Purple The plan is to ditch the scrog idea from last time. It's such a mission when coupled with DWC, which I am going to keep, but instead of 15L cooler box reservoirs I am going big with 30L cooler box reservoirs. This should assist in flowering with not having to fill my reses every day..maybe now every 2-3 days. So in order to maximise yield minus the scrog, I'll do an 8 way manifold by topping each plant a total of three times and using low stress training to get as much spread as possible. The Gran Daddy Purple has a shorter flowering time than the Royal Gorilla, this will need to be kept in mind closer to the end of flowering. There is a possibility it will need to be harvested sooner than the Royal Gorilla. I do not want to sacrifice either to a shorter or longer harvest period than necessary. Each plant will be harvested when either is ready in their own time. Beginning the veg stage now, I intend to use the coming colder months closer to flowering to induce as much colour in the GDP as possible, genetics be willing. The Setup 80x80x180 Grow Tent 250W Quantum Board with Potentiometer and Current/Voltage Reader 2 x 30L DIY DWC Air pump + Air Stones Clip Fan Sonoff TH16 Wifi Switch + Temp/Humidity Sensor I have connected a Sonoff switch to the exhaust system which acts as a temp/humidity reader and can be used to automate the exhaust to operate depending on temp/humidity perimeters if need be. The device plus the sensor cost me R480. First Few Weeks of Veg Plant on the left is Royal Gorilla, plant on the right is GDP. Will update at major milestones1 point

PM is a bane to any grower. There are many ways to deal with PM. From just removing the infected leaf, to using bicarb, vinegar etc. I personally always have neem in my IPM. The neem stimulates the plants immune system, increases resistance. For PM specifically though, I like spraying a bicarb solution onto the areas with good results. 1tsp dissolved in 1l. Add a drop or two of sunlight as surfactant and spray infected leaves top and bottom.1 point

Flower Day 15. For now most of my work is done here. Tent filled out corner to corner, did the last hard defoliation, hopefully. They got their last BioNeem and BioPhyta foliage treatments. Top dressed with DE, Tricho, Myco and some Dolomite Lime. Covered the pots to the tops with some more FF premium classic. Giving AACT as often as possible, at least once a week and just 7.0ph water inbetween. Recipe for AACT is FF premium classic, Liquid Vermipure, Molasses, Tricho. (Playing it safe till I get to know the ropes) Here they are pre-defo:(30 June) Post-defo:(6 July)1 point
