  1. Bro what an exceptionally beautiful plant :-respect

Amazing to have seen her transformation and hoping that she tastes as good as she looks.

With her looks she is definitely doing the Transkei proud.

Very cool grow to follow, it feels like yesterday when you had some issues with the seedlings being chowed and look at them now.

  2. Mr Cannabist. Thank you for the coolest seed shopping experience I have ever had. I have never received the amount of freebies from any other seedbank and I have used quite a couple of them.

Keep up the great work and you will definitely have my support. I only ordered 2 Motherland genetics packs and got a shit load extra seeds and promo items..

What more can a client ask for??

    Thanx @Cannabist

Seedbanks are like name brands. If you are only growing for smoking it's better to buy from a bulk seed supplier. If you plan to keep clones you want the name brand strains. If you plan to breed you step into the expensive as hell regulars.

Fair enough if you buy bulk seeds it will cost cheaper per seed. But do you really want to waste 4 months of electricity and nutes growing subpar stuff that won't smoke as nice as some decent genetics from a trusted breeder?

So honestly speaking bulk seeds might be proper for beginner growers.. but if you know the quality of bud that you want you will struggle to get that consistently from bulk seeds. So on that note I have been burned by President seeds and bulk seed bank and will never again purchase any seeds where I know it was bulk or repackaged bulk. Rather cough up some extra cash and enjoy the fruits of your harvest so much more..

And I don't think it's ethical or treating your clients fairly by flipping and filtering bud pics that do not even relate to the strain in question.. but there's money to be made in cannabis so there will always be some poephol that tries to take advantage of that...

  4. Hi folks.

So after some tedious and time consuming trimming all the buds are jarred and curing away nicely with some 62% boveda packs.

To be honest I love growing but trimming ain't one of my favourites yet it is the second last step after all that effort to grow the plants out. So I tried to trim as nicely as possible given the volume that needed to be trimmed.

So the flower and drying times worked out as follows:

All the clones (except Wedding Gelato) went for a 65 day flower with between 7 to 12 days drying time. Less plant matter quicker dry time..

The mother plants and Wedding Gelato clones went for a 69 day flower (except Crescendo RBXV2 - 71 day flower). The dry time on the mothers averaged between 10 to 13 days.

Here are some of the bud pics post trim. I will do a smoke report in a week or so. But from the tasters I've had there seems to be some interesting aromas and flavours that shine through.

  5. @Budwizer thanx bro much appreciated.

I am already busy with the second grow on my strain journey. Got the next batch germinated and will run a new 6 strain diary shortly.

Running some @Totemic Palomino and Tortoni alongside some TH seeds Bubblegum, Garden of Green Girl Scout Cookies,  Braincake by Ripper and Twisted Helix by Inhouse.

Then on to some old school genetics supplied by @Golden-Goose for the next run.

For the love of growing :-trip

  6. @Budwizer hey brother. Thanx for the shout out.

Finished up the trimming of the Crescendo RBXV2 this weekend. She was the last plant to get chopped at 71 day flower with a 12 day dry. She yielded 99 grams...

Humidity went Karoo style the last couple of days in Gauteng.

All in all ended up with a 320 gram dry trim weight. Will post an update on dried bud pics and smoke report shortly..  here is the Crescendo we finished up with just now..

  8. On a side note I popped your Palomino alongside the Tortoni and some other strains and at the moment the Palomino is looking like a champ. Fastest in the tent..

Showed tap root in three days and already working on the second node of true leaves just after 10 days since I popped it in the peat pellet.

Tortoni on the other hand took a full 6 days to show tap. Still 100% germination rate 😆

  10. Hi @Bos

I initially started with the wet trim but we live in Gauteng and tend to struggle with relatively low RH during summer and winter. So in order to prolong the drying period I moved over to a dry trim.

One of the draw downs with wet trim is the excessive amount of resin sticking to the scissor when compared to dry trim. But to be honest I would love to try the bud misting wet trim once though.

I also find that the dry trim allows for better curing while drying as there is more plant matter to systematically release moisture till you reach the perfect moisture content.

And once you are in the groove of removing dried sugar leaves trimming turns out quite easy.

Hoping this batch will do me justice but only time will tell...

  11. Day 69 into flower and most of the ladies got the chop today. I am very happy with how well they have progressed and definitely have some things I will adapt and change in the next run.

Only plant still left to harvest is the Crescendo RBXV2 as I think she can still go a couple of days and drying space is limited.

Hoping for a nice and slow dry of between 7 to 14 days followed by a dry trim.

Yeah man, always a hectic ride, pushing the plants to their limit in that day 21-42 peak flowering period without pushing them over the edge, then turn down the lights a bit, dial back on the nutes and allow them to ripen.

Thanx for sharing some of your grow techniques :-respect

Plants look amazing and very excited to pop your Palomino and Tortoni fems in a couple of weeks 😆

  13. Day 65 into flower.

Tricomes are for the most part cloudy/milky with no real amber yet except a few on the sugar leaves... So I thought this might make a good experiment to determine the amount of milky vs amber that I like for future runs.

So I decided to chop the clones and leave the mothers for a couple more days.. Wedding Gelato clones will be chopped with the mothers.

  14. I bought some seeds from Trophy seeds for my next run. Never used them before and mostly rely on Biltong and Budz. I will attempt to pop the following...

    In house - Twisted helix

Garden of Green - Girl Scout Cookies

    G13 Labs - Raw Diesel.

These were available as singles as I rather like singles over the more expensive 3 or 5 packs. I truly hope they don't sell aged stock but only time will tell.

Will give an update after germination in a couple of weeks time. :poke

  15. Hi folks.

Day 63 into flower and buds maturing really nicely. So I thought it best to ditch the "mature by eye" old school method. Since I can still learn much more. And rather use the little microscope I have to help me along the way..

I wil most likely start to harvest some ladies on 65 days and up.

  16. Hi folks.

So I had my math wrong and didn't harvest any over the weekend. :fishslap

I am currently on day 59 of flower so starting this weekend the chop will begin with some selected ladies. Purple Queen and Uppercut first in line..

The Uppercut is blowing my mind with bud size and tricome development... I just wonder what it might have looked like if I added TopMax. Maybe something to consider for the next grow?
