@Green Leaf Organics some beautiful buds there man.
Just a quick question. As an experienced grower and growing on scale do you prefer wet trim or dry trim and do you have specific drying and curing preferences?
Very cool to have someone with the vast experience like you have on the forum.

So what strains are you running at the moment?
And fuck yield. You know how much you need and want. It's about enjoying the experience.

There will be a few phenos that range between Chocolate Gelato and Blunicorn dominance. Sounds like it smells like a Gelato dominant pheno with a high myrcene content. My favorite terpene, and the one I'll always select for.
Well shit that makes me a happy camper!! Thank you for the reply man! I love your gear!!

Morning folks.
So I am currently sitting on day 36 of flower, just over the 5 week mark.
Plants are looking real happy and I am starting to see some nice leaf colours pushing through and mains starting to elongate. With today's feed I gave the last BioGrow for this flowering cycle as the N balance in the bloom will be sufficient to carry the ladies through. Mistake with the previous grow was to pull the grow too early.
The tent is starting to smell like all kinds of awesomeness but man that Palomino is knocking the socks of the rest of the ladies. I am perplexed as to the levels of candy fruitiness that lady is expressing.. ots really out of this world!! Very happy that I have 2 seeds left of that strain. @Totemic is the terpene expression on point from your experience?
I was also able to take some flash bud shots of some of the clones showing nice trichome development.
Excuse the droopy leaves, the ladies were thirsty prior to their photo shoot.

Hello Bud, I water my 25 litre pots in a similar fashion. When I transplant into them I give roughly 300 ml per day and go up to 1 litre a day as they grow. During flowering they can take in 1.5 - 2 litres a day
Yeah I think the type of medium, strain and environmentals will be the determining factor as to the frequency and volume of watering needed..
Like we have seen from the replies there are several ways to skin this cannabis smoking cat.

Good advice all, thanks.
Reason I entered the competition, to learn.
I think it all started with inexperience planting into 10l pot indoors. No problems outdoors.
And now trying to claw my way back.
At the end of the comp I think I'll condense the thread. It might just be a good read on how things go wrong and solutions if I manage to pull through.

Its not necessarily a bad thing that you went straight to the 10L.
Outdoor watering when compared to indoor watering is fucking world's apart and I also learnt my lesson the hard way.
Outdoor in Summer my 20l fabric pot got 5L of water every single day with no overwatering issues.
Indoor with my 20L pots they get 1L of water every 4 to 7 days depending how well the medium drained.
You are going through a valuable learning curve and will be a stronger, better and wiser grower for the next run.

@John Stonedwell I wish 600g dry weight. That would equate to +-1kg wet weight. But nah im not at that level yet.
Im aiming for 600g wet weight from one plant which would equate to +-350g dry weight. Which should be very possible
Aah ok cool thanx for the clarity man.
350g dry trim weight for a plant is right up there if your growing indoor...
Good luck and keep us posted

Week 9 - Day59 (05/07/2021)
Ive decided not to flip to flower. This will rule me out of winning any prizes and i'm chilled with that. I'll also get to see how the other contestants experience the stain in flower and i think thats some valuable info. Im going to grow her out more and i'm aiming for 600g weight when she does finish flower. I've never gotten this yield ever but its also the first chance i really get to test the mars hydro grow bar. The last grow was thrown away due to spider mites
HORTIMIX-DWC
- She's been growing steadily with no issues until this past weekend when i saw her leaves start to yellow at the tips. Checked the reservoir and the following was observed
- Reservoir dropped in about 5L of water.
- Current EC is 0.3 and PH is 4.8
- Did a full reservoir change (100ml part A+ 100 ml part B +3ml silicon plus + 1tsp crushed CO2 tab )
- New EC is 1.0 and new PH is 5.0
- Now with CO2 tabs added i expect the PH to rise over the next few days as the CO2 releases. I will measure PH everyday and adjust as required. I also gave her a decent jump in nutes and i hope she doesnt burn. Im hoping the CO2 is going to allow her to take in much more plus she's at the height were i usually keep my EC at 1.4. Lets see how she reacts - if she burns with the first couple days ill just chuck out the reservoir and go back to the safe route
- Also did some defoliation for better light penetration
- Pics to follow
Hey brother. Kudos for keeping on keeping on
Just a quick question. Do you want 600 grams dry trimmed weight from the one plant?

They will still grow in Veg mode when you flip em... I would flip em, bro.
I have to agree.
From the look of my 2 Tortoni's I have going at the moment 8 weeks might not be enough for the flowering stage. It's leaning more towards the 9 to 10 weeks mark...
Here's my 2 ladies at 33 days (just shy of 5 weeks) and as you can see still got some ways to go..

Hi everyone.
This is my first 'real' grow. My pilot grow was bag seed and under only 60W for most of veg.
Strains: Green House Seeds - Franco's Lemon Cheese. Barneys Farm - Gorilla Zkittlez
Setup: 2 x 15 litre pots in a 1m x 0.5m cupboard conversion with a 240W QB from @Light It Up. I have the dimmer set to 120-180W through veg and then 240W during flower.
Soil: Freedom Farm, green bag. Amended with Dirty Hands elemental blend and some extra goodies, kelp meal, insect frass, mycoroot and some earthworms from the garden. Mulched with alfalfa straw/hay.
Nutrients: During veg I use Kelpak (first few weeks only), Biobizz Biogro (half-strength), Biobizz Activera and calmag(alternate weekly with Biodyne). During flower, I include Freedom Farm's Fire Juice, replace Biogro with molasses and give calmag more regularly. pH adjusted to 6-6.5 (shout out to @The_StonedTrooper for the pH pen!)
Currently on day 32 of flower. I topped the zkittlez once and lemon cheese twice. I was hoping to fill out the screen but the zkittlez is much smaller. It didn't respond as well to supercropping and took longer to recover from the transplant. Also, I think I topped it a bit early and could've used another week in veg. Could be the strain, could be the seed, could be me. Can't complain too much though because those flowers smell and look amazing

Thanks man , Growing is one of my big passions in life , having a lot of fun in the competition
To answer your question (do I have anything to do with the Mantis brand) Yes I am the founder of Mantis and have an amazing team that makes the grow bags. Made by growers for growers
As for the plant/pot stands, they do help a bit with aeration but is mainly there to make it easier to test the runoff (ppm, PH, and amount) per plant just to give me some guesstimate to what they are eating and drinkingFuck yeah. That's pretty cool man.
I have a mate that is now switching his entire grow to your branded pots as it just serves him so well and really allows him to pack his 1m×1m tent. He only has good things to say about the quality, form and function of the grow bags.
All of the best to you and your business. May you thrive and succeed in becoming a household name for growers

Hi folks.
So it is time for an update. Currently sitting on day 30 of flower and the smells are starting to get interesting and the buds are taking nice shape with some sprinkling of trichome across the board (except for the GSC... patience is a virtue here.)
The leaders in terms of the terpene profiles would be the Twisted Helix and the Palomino. The most pronounced of the two would be the Palomino with an exceptionally nice papaya/mango smell lingering. The Twisted Helix on the other hand is pushing some apricot vibes (possibly due to the lineage including Irene Apricot)
For the pics I took a top shot of the mothers and then a bud shot of the clone except for the Tortoni #1 and #2 as I don't have clones in the tent for them.
Something I have picked up is that the trichome development on the clones are progressing quicker than the mother plants.. Might be due to the size of the plants but I am not sure??
My buddy also did me quite a solid and sent me a split screen pic of my previous run compared against this one and I am very impressed with the difference, especially on the leaf colour and canopy..

What's crackalacking fam! I have a few updates for you all. With just a handful of days to go before the flip, I have cleaned up the plants and taken Off most fan leaves. The remaining leaves will really take off and set the scene for flowering. Stakes and trellis will be added to support and guide the stems to success and bountiful harvests with fat unwavering dongs
I enjoyed @iGrowDagga post with the ruler for reference and decided to include some of my own ruler for reference pics
5 more sleeps guys
The before and after looks very cool man.
I think your gonna end up with a bad ass flowering jungle in that tub.

The Banana turned purple overnight, no surprise there, not really a fan of the purple anymore
From here 5 weeks max, 4 weeks minimum. Either way 2 weeks from now will stop feed to save on nutes and time, will then start looking at the trichomes and decide when to stop watering from then give it another week with no water to let the medium dry out. Might do 48hrs dark before chop, will see how I feel. might have to harvest at different times.

Hi folks.
26 days into flower and things are looking good. Did a bit of inspection and feeding today.
All the ladies have started pushing tricome development except for the GSC. Not sure whether it's the strain that grows like this or whether it's a poor iteration by the breeder/seed bank...
Nevertheless all the other ladies are happily showing their flowering prowess. I will update with some bud pics of all the strains in the week.
