  1. Thank you for the feedback and advice. Probably not, enough wind and far enough from neighbours noses, but not their eyes. So when you include seeds, good medium, pots, pans, nutrients, you probably looking at R15000. Yeah we kinda agreed that the budget was a little to high for some personal smoke, and will be waiting on him for a budget on some auto's. Its still not out the questions as I might be able to organise some good quality lights from a grow that is closing down. Again thanks for the advice.
  2. A mate phoned me a couple days ago about setting up an indoor grow at his new home for his own harvest and a couple mates. They are big stoners and used to fair amounts of bush twak outside. He has moved into a small town and has eyes all around him now, so would rather be more discreet. He asked me what it would cost to setup a continuous indoor garden. I thumb sucked 10K for a basic tent setup with flowering, vegging and cloning chamber. Not to sure if that was a right costing, but a figure I think is not far off the mark. Worked out he smokes about 30 - 40 grams a month. He is an experienced horticulturist, landscaper, but only ever grown outdoor bush twak. Any advice from seasoned indoorers welcome? Are the off the shelf grow setups you can buy for one person, any suggestions? My final thought for him was to buy auto/fem seeds and grow in pots around his garden discreetly as is needs are two-fold. He is tired of buying, is not currently growing and he needs his zol.
  3. Pull us cooked okes back on track. Raw cannabis has many benefits and taking established markets by storm. Chuck them in a smoothie, very good you with readily available nutrients. Dry the stems out and grind them down and you will see how " woody " they are, amazing product to work with and use. cannabis is so varied and diverse you are probably right. Next couple of days I am conferencing into a grow room of mutant plants, freakshow, ducksfoot and grinspoon are being grown. But yeah the spinach above looks identical to some cannabis strains I have grown. Amazing times we living in, just wish people were as amazing as cannabis. Cannabis is part of the plant kingdom and needs an update with scientically classified terms and taxanomy.
  4. Not at all, the insults are low level and reading into them are saying more about the people posting than towards me. Ego, jealously, fear and stupidy = trolling. And fnnn hilarious. Was thinking of printing some shirts with the insults. i know and understand this, was going to do a post about trolling online and cannabis community, but the time was not right. Patience is my middle name. Maybe they should not have an edit button!!! I would have opened a topic in that case. Just was opening a debate as I mentioned. Back to electric turbo spinach. Have a peaceful and patient day.
  5. Just busy editing my post, dont get offended. All in jest and education.
  6. I am terribly sorry, I saw the notification, while I was editing. Dont really have the time to please everyone. Anyway getting your vibe, and realise you judged me way before a little pathetic debate. Much love and keep on growing. onething I can say, is the insults I have received from the hippie peace loving cannabis community for about 4 years is insane. Rhino thick skin here, call me what you want, not saying you personally, just what I have received from other green activists is seriously unreal. Really sad, moving along. Living the dream, haters towing along.
  7. Food for thought, they make paper out of trees, and originally made paper out of hemp. Go figure.
  8. Ah no, not at all. Its been a debate for years and since cannabis was generally accepted taxanomy in the 19th century there is alot of debate happening about what it exactly it is and changes that need to be made. Anyway lets leave it at that. Going to open up another debate about this. But if you want tongue in cheek, cooked , so be it. You sounding like another activist that ironically called me a drug addict recently, two days later published article, Chris Jay said, "legalise all drugs". . Love you guys and your blah. See you in the future.
  9. Herbaceous plant "vascular plants that have no persistent woody stems above ground". if you have ever taken the time to dry the stems of cannabis and grate them down you will see how woody they come out. Damn strong, lots of fibre. Its very confusing.
  10. Not to sure, was not really interested. there are multiple categories, lists.... largest fruit, largest vegetable, mutant varities, dry flowers, fresh flowers, exotic fruits, kitchen herbs....... Was just quite an excitement moment when they agreed cannabis could be a multiple categories at that point. Win for cannabis.
  11. I beg to differ. I like the debate.
  12. not to sure but its the reason I managed to get cannabis into 6 categories at last years agricultural show. The judging committee ( 5 seasoned tannies who judge hundreds of plants ) could not decide on if it was a fruit, vegetable or flower. So if they cant decide, who can. Next year they have kindly opened up two cannabis categories, 1. Craft Cannabis and 2. Cannabis Plant. I wonder what it is except for an amazing medicinal, recreational and industrial plant. Viva cannabis.
  13. Finally i know why they call weed, turbo spinach. Lets open a debate, is cannabis a fruit or vegetable?
  14. Works like a charm. I still have my pink powder from 14 years ago, wondering if its still viable.
  15. Shhhhh, I dont need that type of negative attitude, but you are right, time flies when you having fun. Highbo, was also given shrooms today. So I should be able to squeeze those in between that time. Another gardener mate of mine always does a clean month Feb, cause its the shortest month. So lets just forget about November damnit.
  16. Seriously well done on being sober for 1 month. I was supposed be "drinking" sober this month. It went as well as the ANC manages municipalities. Besides that I always try and detox every now and again though, go for a couple weeks without drink, smoke or sugar. Come from bad genetics with substance abuse problems, so its something I try and stay on top of. So movember is out, Stupid for me to try in December as we making moonshine and I have to taste, judge, dive in. But yeah new year, new me, new rules BS. Maybe Feb. Great to see someone showing their will power.
  17. Top magazine and they are still up and running, since 1984. Actually worked for them for a couple months earlier this year and was involved in their 2020 digital highlife cup. Also used to by their papers while in the UK, still got some copies somewhere.
  18. If you want to smoke chilli kush, you can try this skip the first few seconds and have a rip:

    Distilling

Any people here interested in distilling moonshine. During lockdown we started a local guild for our distillers in town and already had our first live run. I have been making beer and liquor for several years now and recently upgraded to a 100 litre copper pot still that makes fairly decent liquor. A couple questions for someone that has experience: What is the best way to get the best flavour from what you put in. I am currently making a pineapple mash and was told to chuck in some fresh pineapple to get the best flavours? I have a fairly big competition coming up and competing against 4 other hobbyists, want to knock them out the park. Any suggestions for something simple, effective and with decent alcohol volume. My last one was measured at about 35% - 40% and would like to get it up to about 45%, any suggestions? One of best comments aimed at me was: " My urine sample has more alcohol than your mango juice". The other guys and gals are hitting over 60%. Quite excited too as we breaking the virgin of a newly developed 300 litre copper still in a couple weeks.
  20. Exactly, it was more than likely a decent/regular product. Maybe longer strands of coir , but yes how can it be subpar. I smell skullduggery from the boets side, delay tactics. if its not great, he could just ship it back and say no thanks. Bet that wont happen.
  21. Almost looks like the strain pine tar kush. How did it smoke?
  22. @Psylecta Detailed answer with obviously a lot of business and legal knowledge. Surprised any company would send such a large volume of stock on consignment to South Africa. Silly to cry foul now and start playing the expensive game with lawyers. Sorry to say you can clearly see a dodgy deal from the South African side of things. Damn we are going down the tubes, very fast.
  23. So what your thoughts on legalising/decriminalising all drugs. Ironically a green activist recently called me a drug addict. Uganda's 'street uncles' transform young lives in the slum - a photo essay “Criminalisation is a total farce,” says Chris Jay, the founder of the South African chapter of the National Organisation for the Reform of Marijuana Laws (Norml), which advocates for the right of adults to use cannabis. “I think countries need to look at the bigger picture and look at models that are tried and tested for decades, such as in the Netherlands and Portugal, and legalise all drugs.” Since 2008 Norml has organised pro-cannabis marches in South Africa, and it supports the Dagga party, which was instrumental in the 2018 legalisation of cannabis in South Africa, a law Jay believes still falls short in addressing the problem. Source Oregon Just Voted to Decriminalize Heroin, Cocaine, and Meth The new punishment for petty possession of any illegal drug will be the legal equivalent of a traffic ticket. Source
  24. Its terrible news and the start of prohibition v2. I am sure they not going to burn the seeds, and use them for an ex-polititian seedbank that is soon going to be launched. I have a mate that works in the deep end of cannabis seeds in Spain, he is funded by the government. It will be interesting to get his take on the story.
  25. @Psylecta If you have one of those sons of b^7ch3s, you have another. I would check my plants everyday. Give them a good shake and then look again. They usually arrive after a good rain and spin webs everywhere.
