  1. Was Ace Seeds not the guys bought out about 2 months back?
  2. Went to a top growshop in Newton Park, Port Elizabeth today, The Gro Bro. Friendly, welcoming smile, clean shop, packed with indoor and outdoor products. The owner Hugo is a gem, keen to answer questions, show you around, talk about the best products for your growing needs. I was introduced to him via Sunshine Coast Genetics, another gem and had a lekker long conversation about growing cannabis, preventative maintenance, nutes etc. Loved the fact that he specializes in organics, his preferred method, however he does stock synthetics too for the commercial dudes. Saw many top brands in the shop, GH, Biobizz, Dirty Hands, Organic Matters, Umya Nutrients, the trim bin bag, some futuristic life time warranty grinders made from medical grade plastic endorsed by Snoop!!! And then my favorite, a top shelf of Fullmelt Filtration Bubble bags. I was sold, I knew this is my new favorite local grow shop. If you in the area, looking for knowledgeable service with a smile, Hugo at the Gro Bro is your man. 10 Frank Street, Newton Park. I will be back for sure.
  3. Rehab is for quitters. I have given myself a gold medal for my detox, or lack there of. In reviewing the past week it was well worth it. I went down the coast to celebrate the passing of a good old man, I took him to AA a couple times during the 90's, he sadly passed sober as a judge last week at the solid age of 85. Had a solid party with old family friends, loads of homebrew, beer, whiskey and weed. But funny enough I was wondering/pondering if Marijuana Anonymous ( MA ) is still existent. It was right next door to the church where AA meetings were held on weekly nights. Down the road from Rosebank towards Parktown North. My ex business partner founded it, I wonder if its still happening. I went baked once or twice for experience, and the tea and cake. Well back to my own rehabilitation centre tomorrow. Round two of the detox.
  4. yes please. Seen these guys alot lately and their strains look good. A couple other local breeders to mention are Sunshine Coast Genetics.
  5. They are a social club just outside Plett and happy to share details. I will be doing a blog post about them soon.
  6. Just had a huge honour thrown at me. I will be judging you growers in July/August when this event place takes place. Just met the brothers and had a lovely time with them at their awesome venue. They have one of the most organised gardens I have ever seen, welcoming, knowledgeable with some top strains.
  7. Thanks guys. Lank amped for this. Tomorrow I meet some activists/canna warriors I have been keen to meet for donkeys years, Cannabizart and Garden Route Genetics. Mother and son. Have been doing a short road trip down the east coast, PE, Jeffreys, Humansdorp, St Francis, Cape St Francis, Plett tomorrow, Knysna Sunday and then back through PE to meet more. Was very cool to meet and greet some people in the cannabiz. Stopped off at Turtle House in Jeffreys Bay, asked permission to take some pictures, wood, weed and surf. My kinda place. Was walking around their very cool shop, saw a bunch of books, bang bought a book I been meaning to buy for 8 years, Cannabis Indica by Mel Thomas, page 92/93, featured a very special strain I grew out many years ago, Lebanese Bekaa/Beqaa landrace.
  8. Sharing some damn amazing news in my life and looking forward to this opportunity. I am the official writer/blogger for LA King Pins as of a few minutes ago. Damn detox, going for a beer, it took alot of work to get this deal. Watch this space. #cannabispromoter "You will go through some hardships in your life, getting up after getting beaten down is much more important than succeeding. There is much more to be learned in failure."
  9. My detox is going well. no problems, easy sailing. So take my partner into town to go on our weekly supply run this morning, do some posting, run some errands. Get home, unpack, have lunch, get to work and now realise all our animals are pissed. While we were out, they broke into the stoep, main pig pushed the gate open for the swarm and started a feeding frenzy on the left overs of moonshine wash. Pointed at my partner and said, her children. Its not the end of the world, its a fairly light volume of alcohol, but still reminds me of how careful we have to be.
  10. Well stuff me sideways, February is almost come and gone, just like that. @PsyCLown, half a year already!!! Damnit. Its the 11th of Feb, booze was only legalized again in Feb, had a couple cool evenings with some stoners and bar flies, have 100 litres of brew on the pot. I know and respect a very top local breeder who makes seriously good moonshine and does not touch it himself. So been debating the entire day about booze. Anyway been clean of the most dangerous drug in the world for about 4 days, and decided to go sober for a couple bumpy weeks ahead ( 30 days to break a habit ). Might do weed soon, but someone will die, so small steps. Thanks for the inspiration with your post @PapaSpliff, I am chucking a training schedule in too.
  11. I have always been for legalisation of cannabis, but also after reading the book , The Devils Picnic ( a must read ) many years ago I realised it was not just about cannabis but "drugs" in general. I was recently called a drug addict from an activist I do not know personally, basically some trolling online via my IG account, out the blue. I believe the guy has some issues and reviewing his youtube videos I cant disagree. We recently had a discussion on here about drugs here and some guys were for it, and some against. I think we can all agree the "War on Drugs" has been a massive failure. Vice published this video a yesterday and love to see this making big media. It gives the nitty gritty on why we need to change our views. Time to open your mind cannabis warriors, dont insult people making a difference, on a their own journey without the sheep pack. "legalise all drugs." Source
  12. Thank you @Gloriosa superba, your purchase is being packed and will update you the tracking number. As per original the full amount was paid to Fields of Green for All. You getting an unreal package, that even the most seasoned breeders would be sweating for. Cannabis, tobacco and chillies on their way.
  13. That looks delicious, I just remembered I have a half eaten homegrown cucumber in my passenger seat from last nights barter!!!!
  14. Due to the lack of interest in this, going to make a top package for @Gloriosa superba. Sent you a DM. Cheers.
  15. With pleasure. Can send off next week. I will send you a dm.
  16. Not to sure, but about 10 or so years ago I got a box of these nutrients from GHS as test samples. They were in clear vaccum sealed bags and the compound was a green/yellowish colour. I think I might have done a test grow on the GHS forums, not to sure though. They worked well for me, I used them separately in a basic soil mix and harvested some big buds.
  17. My local farm yard pub has just opened again, yayyy. I annexed my tincture bottles day before yesterday from the display and busy making more to refill the bottles. I usually just use as high proof retail alcohol ( generally use white rum ) I can get my hands on, add about 30 grams of bud to a 750ml bottle. Mix it up and let it sit for a couple months. Then sieve through a stocking and bottle it. I often have a coffee and shot of cannacane. Making something unique in the next couple of weeks with regards to tinctures. Will post it when I am done. The pineapples are almost ready for stilling!!! Hopefully going to get it tested in a lab, see what I am really drinking.
  18. Last of the craft weekend, corked in a bottle with a label. Made these cool 50ml taster bottles for a friend. They are three varieties: 1. Cinnamon and Beetroot 2. Pineapple 3. Mango
  19. If any of you guys are into surf, sand or sea, I have found a hidden gem for you. Shaka Surf Shack, an Unreal place built into nature around trees, with treehouses to stay in for only R250 per night. You are are about a 200 metre walk through forests to dunes and sea. Nice chill areas, entertainment area, skate half pipe and freedom. Surf school with a pro surfer if you are interested, you can do sandboarding on the dunes next door or a quick walk to blue flag beaches of Port Alfred. Go inland a little to Bathurst village, a farming community with lots of eccentrics, growers, stoners, artists, potters, home to the biggest pineapple in the world. Something for everyone in the area, rivers, dunes, game reserves on the unspoiled sunshine coast. "Live your life be free"
  20. Found this in a playlist, damn its cool.
  21. This is about a decade before Nguni. Thats where nguni is, history. I work with some breeders I trust now, hand out genetics to guys I know who will work with them and have the street cred, passion, patience. If you realised the shit I received, idle death threats, hate from guys even on this board who never even bought from nguni, I realised it was not worth it, especially since it was still illegal. Too much stress, although nguni seeds are still being grown today. Was recently going to send 420 seeds to a group I support, but was told literally to mind my own business by one of their dark horses. Was told i was an uneducated drug addict and ironically an article was published 4 days after his unwarranted trolling, and I was quoted in saying "legalise all drugs". . History is still being made, I am about to start consulting for someone interesting, he revolutionized the cocaine industry, not Rick Ross, Freeway Rick Ross. He has two new cannabis brands that I am keen to help.
  22. You doing it very right, dont stress too much. If you think growing weed is addictive, try growing it.
  23. Got into it when I was about 9 years old. Was skateboarding, mates older sister told us about smoking grass. So we took it literally and rolled up some old lawn clippings in some paper and tried smoking it around the corner. Tasted like dog shit. So that was my first false start. Ended up at a new years beach party when I was 14, on the north coast around a fire, joint comes round and that was the first real smoke. Loved it and was hooked for a couple years. Smoked and dealt throughout my teenage years, got into lots of shit, almost expelled, almost arrested , beaten, cops never caught me, and they tried many times. Went overseas and realised there was so much more to cannabis, introduced to some up and coming breeders, a saffie imported some hash in his shoe, bought some products from bodyshops new hemp range during the mid 90's, hit Amsterdam, bought the Howard Marks book as it was just released, Mr Nice book at Heathrow airport after it being recommended by a friend. Oh and the other big thing was I worked in Switzerland as a gardener in 1997, we had a huge greenhouse up in the mountains, a couple sativa's grown, and on my weekends off I used to go into the same village mentioned in Mr Nice and could openly buy weed from one groovy shop, so it really opened my eyes to what cannabis was. However in those years, DAGGA was hugely frowned upon, it was not like it was today, the stigma has changed so much. Proud to be a stoner.
  24. Looking great @John Stonedwell. As you scrolling through the pictures are just getting better. Nice growing bud.
  25. @Golden-Goose, your lineup sounds classic. Hear you about breeding lines today, but personally I only think its improving, however with the sad loss of landrace. ICMAG is without a doubt the best place for proper unique strains, lots of depth and some top people. I just logged back in after a couple years of dormancy. Good to see some old faces there, Doobie Duck is one man I would love to get genetics from, but he does not part easily. But received some of the real oldschools from that board many years ago. One of my best was getting a test variety of OG Kush from Franco ( GHS ) directly. Never realised I had so many sought after strains direct from breeders themselves. Love the cannabis community. Two of my favorite breeders, Bodhi and Snowhigh are working on some great old school genetics, you will see them showing up in podcasts soon with Canna Cribs. Here is the latest podcast from Canna Cribs and whats happening, interesting if you keen on oldschool. Anyone know if Mota Rebel is still around, I have a feeling he passed several years ago. His seeds were out of this world, off the top of my head, Lebanese Bekka, Pakistani Chitral........ Well that is the thing, I see all these new names coming, sounds more like a childs candy store. Variety is bliss and love the old landraces. Still smoking on my lesotho landrace from last season. I remember a hipster dropping a joint in the bin saying he does not smoke majat. I smiled and he stabbed himself ( true story ), had to race him to hospital. He does not carry knives anymore and is fairly interested in landraces now. Amazing how the wheel turns. i wish I had filmed two renowned activists talking about DP, damn my heart sank. They all into the new candy strains, but recently started getting involved in landrace.
