Looking delicious @Pants. What sauces you making? Gooi some recipes here to. A mate of mine ( comrad ) is also making sauces, tried his delicious jalapeno vinegar relish a couple nights ago. So we had a couple drinks, a nak attack, some laughs and he wants me to start growing chillies for him. R99 per kilo of fresh chillies, I think I am in. My best sauce is from a local farmers ( Brians Hot Sauce ) sauce here, he has never and never will share his recipe. Its that old Portuguese style sauce. Eat it with a teaspoon, its not hot, just tasty, spicy and delicious. My only recipe I have used is simply, crushing chillies, garlic, salt, pepper, cannabis and steeping it in olive oil. Never really developed further from that.

I hear you about that. Had a very awkward experience a couple weeks ago when I went past, disgruntled customer outside, strange interaction inside, shop assistant was cool though. Was very happy to leave and be introduced to to the GB a couple days later. Breath of fresh air.

Do yourself a favour ( not your wallet ) go to the Gro Bro in Newton Park, they stock President seeds in shop. The owner is a very nice guy and knows his products well. If you think smoking weed is addictive, try growing it.

Love their new packaging, looks slick. I grew their Durban crosses last season and had a nice harvest. Big ups to GSR. Powdery mildew is rife this year, was in someones garden today and pointed out their 2.5 meter beauties have powdery mildew all over. And guess what, the grower wont do anything about it, and still smoke and sell it. Talking about that, there is a new product coming to shops soon, was chatting with the guys in Jozi yesterday, it sounds crazy, cant even remember what its based on, but its a harmless fungicide.

Not much has changed. Its still the same here, lots of eccentrics, hippies, artists. Dont worry , the specific asswipe will probably have left by the time you get here. He had the nerve to bring police to my house last week and try make friends. Oldschool rocks.

Yeah we have some barefooted, dreadlocked dodgy shroom dealers now, not the old original hippies. Shout when you in the area it would be nice to meetup, actually we having a cannabis social meetup soon if you are interested.

Probably safer and cheaper driving it here. I am in Ec, been driving legally on the roads since the 3rd of January and not one roadblock, plus its your right, you can even legally drive a plant here( only for the brave with balls though ) . Just published this article about The Hempress, an interview i did a couple weeks ago. Lady run businesses powered by hemp. The Hempress was founded during March 2020, the first lockdown and worldwide pandemic in about 100 years. Jamey ‘jameson’ Ries started sewing much needed masks out of 100% pure hemp after her fulltime managerial job at a local restaurant had become redundant during the several months of lockdown. A friend of hers offered her a bundle of hemp fabric, and the rest is history. Proudly South African, lady owned and powered by hemp. The Hempress is celebrating one year of business in the next couple of weeks. I was lucky enough to get an interview with Jamey at a pub/restaurant in Bathurst two weeks ago. Went for an early morning wake and bake walk through forests outside the town of Plett. Damn we drive through the gates of DankiPa farm, smell and see a beautiful garden on a hillside with a coffee shop overlooking a river and the sea. A simple signup form to become a member and as a member you reimburse to the Club the plant management fees in exchange for the produce. As per the constitution of South Africa.. Their cannabis garden is unreal. Organically grown outdoor variety of strains from original exodus cheese through to strawberry sherbert and a variety of pure sativa’s. Many of the plants are grown from clone by a seasoned master grower and his team. They manage a large space with many upliftment projects on the go. They have a local community of ladies rolling joints, providing them a sustainable salary, delivering perfectly rolled pre-rolled joints for club members to enjoy with a view. A couple joints later, we were late for lunch. Back through Port Elizabeth on the way back home and went to the Pottery coffee shop, nursery and social club. Their membership processing is a bit longer, but you can buy a day pass. I walked around their fully stocked shop of a headshop, custom glass rigs, bongs, grinders etc, also have a inhouse produced nutrient solutions and small growshop supplies store. I enjoyed a cup of coffee while speaking with the very talented owner of the social club, who was definatley in high spirits about the success within the community about this slick venue. Two cups of coffee and off to the latest growshop to open in Port Elizabeth with a dude from Sunshine coast Genetics. The Gro Bro The Gro Bro is a friendly, welcoming smile, clean shop, packed with indoor and outdoor products. The owner Hugo is a gem, keen to answer questions, show you around, talk about the best products for your growing needs. I was introduced to him via Sunshine Coast Genetics, another gem and had a lekker long conversation about growing cannabis, preventative maintenance, nutes etc. Loved the fact that he specializes in organics, his preferred method, however he does stock synthetics too for the commercial dudes. Saw many top brands in the shop, GH, Biobizz, Dirty Hands, Organic Matters, Umya Nutrients, the trim bin bag, some futuristic life time warranty grinders made from medical grade plastic endorsed by Snoop!!! And then my favorite, a top shelf of Fullmelt Filtration Bubble bags. I was sold, I knew this is my new favorite local grow shop. Next was a quick but way overdue stop in Knysna to meet a cannabis artist and activist from Cannabiz Art, Marylou Botha, a cannabis warrior. It was an awesome experience to finally meet her and her family in wonderful surroundings. Drank coffee in crooked handmade cups, smoked delicious weed and caught up on cannabis culture over a couple joints. She also kindly gifted me some of her handmade cannabis soap. I also got to meet a breeder known as Garden Route Genetics. Josh has been breeding for 15 years and kindly gave me some top strains, Black Kronic and Lilac Kronic. Next stop was in a town known as Plettenberg Bay. Its a buzzing town with so much on offer including great beaches, outdoor trails, shops, sun, sea, restaurants and cannabis activities. First stopped off at a very cool Hemp shop, Simple Seed, in the high street. Really nice selection of CBD and hemp items, from textiles to through to soaps, balms, scrubs, CBD oil, hemp hats. The owner was informed about all his products and knew lots about the benefits of hemp.

Last week I headed down the garden route to meet up with some like minded cannabis growers/breeders and it was a treat. My first stop in PE was the low light of the trip, disgruntled customer outside, damn expensive shop, very charming and knowledgeable shop assistant, but a damn weird owner. Rather leave the name out of this post and move onto the good stuff. Next stop was Turtle House, awesome setting and shop, lots to see, do and buy. It is primarily a legal shop selling a bunch of traditional medicines, teas, bongs, coffeeshop and growshop with a little library. Amazingly found a book I was published in, Cannabis Indica by Mel Thomas. Really did give me a hop in my step and quickly bought it. Next stop was to an activist and organic grower, medical user, OomBoom. What a wonderful experience, beautiful garden using permaculture principles and very knowledgeable too. Had a cup of green tea, some tasty joints and bought a couple of his very well branded tshirts. Next stop was St Francis Bay. There are two cannabis shops, one for CBD/THC medicine and the other other a CBD Vape Club called PineApple Express. It was a good time to stop and buy some craft beer from The Brewing Company, delicious pale ale.

If you watched tonights hotbox show, and heard what Marc Emery was quoted on saying about the quality and variety available in South Africa, we almost there. Just got back from a roadtrip a couple days ago, and totally amazed at the variety of cannabiz happening, from cannabis soap bars, to books, cannabis clubs ( every town on the garden route ) , heard sanlam is insuring cannabis for a quater million at one club. Its an amazing time to be alive, but unfortunately Marc Emery also said something else to remember, hopefully the laws stay in limbo, cause like a trawling net, they going to slowly reel it in with regulations.

Rehab is for quitters. I have given myself a gold medal for my detox, or lack there of. In reviewing the past week it was well worth it. I went down the coast to celebrate the passing of a good old man, I took him to AA a couple times during the 90's, he sadly passed sober as a judge last week at the solid age of 85. Had a solid party with old family friends, loads of homebrew, beer, whiskey and weed. But funny enough I was wondering/pondering if Marijuana Anonymous ( MA ) is still existent. It was right next door to the church where AA meetings were held on weekly nights. Down the road from Rosebank towards Parktown North. My ex business partner founded it, I wonder if its still happening. I went baked once or twice for experience, and the tea and cake. Well back to my own rehabilitation centre tomorrow. Round two of the detox.

Just had a huge honour thrown at me. I will be judging you growers in July/August when this event place takes place. Just met the brothers and had a lovely time with them at their awesome venue. They have one of the most organised gardens I have ever seen, welcoming, knowledgeable with some top strains.

Thanks guys. Lank amped for this. Tomorrow I meet some activists/canna warriors I have been keen to meet for donkeys years, Cannabizart and Garden Route Genetics. Mother and son. Have been doing a short road trip down the east coast, PE, Jeffreys, Humansdorp, St Francis, Cape St Francis, Plett tomorrow, Knysna Sunday and then back through PE to meet more. Was very cool to meet and greet some people in the cannabiz. Stopped off at Turtle House in Jeffreys Bay, asked permission to take some pictures, wood, weed and surf. My kinda place. Was walking around their very cool shop, saw a bunch of books, bang bought a book I been meaning to buy for 8 years, Cannabis Indica by Mel Thomas, page 92/93, featured a very special strain I grew out many years ago, Lebanese Bekaa/Beqaa landrace.
