  1. My best was about a month ago, a dread locked, barefooted drug dealer from our town. I was having a happy drink with a solid mate at a pub. The smelly hippy uses the pub as his place to interact and offer flowers and mushrooms. He came to our table spoke to my mate who he knows and then turned to me, I dont know him, never met him. He just said you fucking think you the canna king, unintentionally leant across the table spitting and frothing in my face with a couple other insults. According to him he supplies Clicks CBD, I laughed, I left after a few kind words. Did some research, got my ducks in a row. He was outside my gate the following day with the police. What pissed me off is he was telling me the do you know who I am vibe, cousins etc, and then brings the police.
  2. Yip, giving me sweaty balls. Behind the scenes it has been a wild to. They swarming to the honeypot since Sunday. Been dealing with boys like this for decades. It was my job in corporate for many years, you go through first line support, 2nd line support, and then you would come to me. It helped me with a couple cannabis trolls to, one guy actually became a friend when I called him, he told me he was going through a divorce and was really stressed. I have trolls that I even get worried about if they dont contact me from fictitious profiles or new numbers Take my longest troll, about 6 years now, JP Ras Levi Victor, he contacted me recently through another FB profile saying he will take me to court if i load his messages. Yawn. The blog post above is from another grower who tried assisting him in the past. My sentiments exactly.
  3. Well give me a week or two and i will have a nail biting Pot Politrix post up, pointing a couple fingers with some genuine examples, more importantly how to handle it. Got offered a fight from a breeder I recently met, So I accepted, hehehe,( he claimed it was a fact fight after and not physical ) dragging me into something I was not involved in, trying to lift his leg on me when he only had half the bone. But funny enough his rant got me involved after, cause it strangely opened new doors. business etc. Funny how life works. Trolling is a big topic, and its really only going to get worse as more people trip up, face their fears, and hopefully finally get kicked out of their mom and dads home.
  4. I think the OG talk is similar to the talk about where 420 came from, cop code, high tea time etc.. This is an interesting article about naming conventions and something I have been discussing with a couple growers lately. On the other hand, this is exactly how not to handle naming conventions of cannabis. Thandeka has been involved in cannabis since the mid 90s, sadly she never thought of saving our genetics then and I am sure most of the original DP collectors would be happy to share, but please not with Thandeka. I do believe South Africa should have some benefit of the name Durban Poison, but it should go to the people and not government coffers. "From Maui Wowie to Durban Poison to Acapulco Gold to Humboldt OG, cannabis strains often boast their geographic origin in their names. However, there is currently no system of enforcement that keeps any cannabis strain from claiming it comes from a place that it did not, in fact, come from. And if your dealer tells you they have some quality California pot, you have no way of knowing if that is true or if it is merely something grown in their buddy’s garage in Kentucky. But such a system of enforcement is right around the corner. " I really cant stand names of today, Gelato, green crack, GSC, wedding cake, it sounds like an fffnnnn candy store. Think of the older names, naming conventions, they were spot on as they were regionalised already.Colombian Gold, Swazi Rooibaart, DP, Alaskan Thunder Fuck, Afghan Kush, OG Kush...... The oldest trick in the book of our street corner dealers was to sell medicore seeded swazi weed with names like White Widow, OG Kush, northern lights. I dont believe most people when they tell me names of weed, cause I know how hard it is to keep track of your names from seed to harvest if you not careful with labels. Could waffle on for ages, but need to do some work, but had a great talk today with some top growers about this topic, weed names, cannabinoids, and its interesting the work that is being done here locally. Well done Canna SA.
  5. The product sounds too good to be true. Multiple uses, applications, bio degradable, safe to use, gluten free and organic kind of thing, but waiting to hear back from them geeks who sit in labs making chemicals. The cool thing is they are considering starting a cannabis brand.
  6. Not selling anything, YETTTT. Market research cant be banned? Just asking about what solutions you guys have to WPM, something that is rife at the moment due to the tropical storms hitting our east coast. Thanks for sharing @Prom and @Fridge.
  7. I think we all having issues with powdery mildew at the moment, from Limpopo down to the western cape I have heard and seen. Guy showed me his plants yesterday, I actually want to record him saying sativa, its unique. He was so excited to show me his towering plants, and bang, it had powdery mildew all over the leaves, not trichomes. So strangely enough the day before another contact called me, saying I have someone you must meet, so went over and started chatting. Conferenced called into 3 other contacts talking about CBD oil ( blah ), cultivation ( cool ) , licensing ( blah ) and a new product that is especially fit for powdery mildew. So bottomline is wanted to ask what you guys use to combat powdery mildew, copper sulphate, hydrochloric acid , milk, good ol' Margret Roberts? Are you aware of the health implications of some of these products? How do you use it, when, during veg or flower? Would you consider trying a new product that could be launched soon and has multiple applications/benefits for hydroponics and water systems?
  8. Welcome back @StickyD420. You were not alone, you took the punches and you put the puzzle back together stronger, bigger and better.
  9. Looking delicious @Pants. What sauces you making? Gooi some recipes here to. A mate of mine ( comrad ) is also making sauces, tried his delicious jalapeno vinegar relish a couple nights ago. So we had a couple drinks, a nak attack, some laughs and he wants me to start growing chillies for him. R99 per kilo of fresh chillies, I think I am in. My best sauce is from a local farmers ( Brians Hot Sauce ) sauce here, he has never and never will share his recipe. Its that old Portuguese style sauce. Eat it with a teaspoon, its not hot, just tasty, spicy and delicious. My only recipe I have used is simply, crushing chillies, garlic, salt, pepper, cannabis and steeping it in olive oil. Never really developed further from that.
  10. I hear you about that. Had a very awkward experience a couple weeks ago when I went past, disgruntled customer outside, strange interaction inside, shop assistant was cool though. Was very happy to leave and be introduced to to the GB a couple days later. Breath of fresh air.
  11. Do yourself a favour ( not your wallet ) go to the Gro Bro in Newton Park, they stock President seeds in shop. The owner is a very nice guy and knows his products well. If you think smoking weed is addictive, try growing it.
  12. Love their new packaging, looks slick. I grew their Durban crosses last season and had a nice harvest. Big ups to GSR. Powdery mildew is rife this year, was in someones garden today and pointed out their 2.5 meter beauties have powdery mildew all over. And guess what, the grower wont do anything about it, and still smoke and sell it. Talking about that, there is a new product coming to shops soon, was chatting with the guys in Jozi yesterday, it sounds crazy, cant even remember what its based on, but its a harmless fungicide.
  13. Not much has changed. Its still the same here, lots of eccentrics, hippies, artists. Dont worry , the specific asswipe will probably have left by the time you get here. He had the nerve to bring police to my house last week and try make friends. Oldschool rocks.
  14. Yeah we have some barefooted, dreadlocked dodgy shroom dealers now, not the old original hippies. Shout when you in the area it would be nice to meetup, actually we having a cannabis social meetup soon if you are interested.
  15. Hey @StickyD420, I am about 1.5 hrs north of PE where the biggest pineapple in the world is situated. Always happy to meet new cannabis community members. Until we meet, take care.
  16. Probably safer and cheaper driving it here. I am in Ec, been driving legally on the roads since the 3rd of January and not one roadblock, plus its your right, you can even legally drive a plant here( only for the brave with balls though ) . Awesome honour to be asked to judge the Canna Cup later this year. Simon Strainhunters is the first judge, Chris the #cannabispromoter is the 2nd judge, and Jeremy Acton is the 3rd judge. You heard it here first! 420sa.
  17. Definatly. We just need to support the hemp industry as cannabis community.
  18. Just published this article about The Hempress, an interview i did a couple weeks ago. Lady run businesses powered by hemp. The Hempress was founded during March 2020, the first lockdown and worldwide pandemic in about 100 years. Jamey ‘jameson’ Ries started sewing much needed masks out of 100% pure hemp after her fulltime managerial job at a local restaurant had become redundant during the several months of lockdown. A friend of hers offered her a bundle of hemp fabric, and the rest is history. Proudly South African, lady owned and powered by hemp. The Hempress is celebrating one year of business in the next couple of weeks. I was lucky enough to get an interview with Jamey at a pub/restaurant in Bathurst two weeks ago. She lives and runs her business from Port Alfred, the Eastern Cape and has servicing clients with custom hemp products, supplied through her online shop. Read more
  19. There is so much along the route that i did not get to see. i was literally in Knysna for several hours, next time I intend going for longer.
  20. IMG_20210220_1202483120×4160 1.54 MB Stayed overnight at a very old friends house, had drinks and joints catching up during the evening with our family. Went for an early morning wake and bake walk through forests outside the town of Plett. Walked by Wiskey Creek Gorge and smoked it up. https://www.instagram.com/p/CLiwx9ysPSQ/ In the morning my friend wanted to take me to the local canna social club just down the road from him. Damn we drive through the gates of DankiPa farm, smell and see a beautiful garden on a hillside with a coffee shop overlooking a river and the sea. A simple signup form to become a member and as a member you reimburse to the Club the plant management fees in exchange for the produce. As per the constitution of South Africa.. Their cannabis garden is unreal. Organically grown outdoor variety of strains from original exodus cheese through to strawberry sherbert and a variety of pure sativa’s. Many of the plants are grown from clone by a seasoned master grower and his team. They manage a large space with many upliftment projects on the go. They have a local community of ladies rolling joints, providing them a sustainable salary, delivering perfectly rolled pre-rolled joints for club members to enjoy with a view. A couple joints later, we were late for lunch. Back through Port Elizabeth on the way back home and went to the Pottery coffee shop, nursery and social club. Their membership processing is a bit longer, but you can buy a day pass. I walked around their fully stocked shop of a headshop, custom glass rigs, bongs, grinders etc, also have a inhouse produced nutrient solutions and small growshop supplies store. I enjoyed a cup of coffee while speaking with the very talented owner of the social club, who was definatley in high spirits about the success within the community about this slick venue. Two cups of coffee and off to the latest growshop to open in Port Elizabeth with a dude from Sunshine coast Genetics. The Gro Bro The Gro Bro is a friendly, welcoming smile, clean shop, packed with indoor and outdoor products. The owner Hugo is a gem, keen to answer questions, show you around, talk about the best products for your growing needs. I was introduced to him via Sunshine Coast Genetics, another gem and had a lekker long conversation about growing cannabis, preventative maintenance, nutes etc. Loved the fact that he specializes in organics, his preferred method, however he does stock synthetics too for the commercial dudes. Saw many top brands in the shop, GH, Biobizz, Dirty Hands, Organic Matters, Umya Nutrients, the trim bin bag, some futuristic life time warranty grinders made from medical grade plastic endorsed by Snoop!!! And then my favorite, a top shelf of Fullmelt Filtration Bubble bags. I was sold, I knew this is my new favorite local grow shop. If you in the area, looking for knowledgeable service with a smile, Hugo at the Gro Bro is your man. 10 Frank Street, Newton Park. I will be back for sure. A couple more pictures of views over Buffalo Bay and some clones I collected along the way. *: By The Way Port Elizabeth has just changed its name to Gqeberha a couple days ago. So any mentions in future I mean Gqeberha. The Map route I travelled, from the sunshine coast through the garden route of South Africa.
  21. Next was a quick but way overdue stop in Knysna to meet a cannabis artist and activist from Cannabiz Art, Marylou Botha, a cannabis warrior. It was an awesome experience to finally meet her and her family in wonderful surroundings. Drank coffee in crooked handmade cups, smoked delicious weed and caught up on cannabis culture over a couple joints. She also kindly gifted me some of her handmade cannabis soap. I also got to meet a breeder known as Garden Route Genetics. Josh has been breeding for 15 years and kindly gave me some top strains, Black Kronic and Lilac Kronic. Next stop was in a town known as Plettenberg Bay. Its a buzzing town with so much on offer including great beaches, outdoor trails, shops, sun, sea, restaurants and cannabis activities. First stopped off at a very cool Hemp shop, Simple Seed, in the high street. Really nice selection of CBD and hemp items, from textiles to through to soaps, balms, scrubs, CBD oil, hemp hats. The owner was informed about all his products and knew lots about the benefits of hemp.
  22. Last week I headed down the garden route to meet up with some like minded cannabis growers/breeders and it was a treat. My first stop in PE was the low light of the trip, disgruntled customer outside, damn expensive shop, very charming and knowledgeable shop assistant, but a damn weird owner. Rather leave the name out of this post and move onto the good stuff. Next stop was Turtle House, awesome setting and shop, lots to see, do and buy. It is primarily a legal shop selling a bunch of traditional medicines, teas, bongs, coffeeshop and growshop with a little library. Amazingly found a book I was published in, Cannabis Indica by Mel Thomas. Really did give me a hop in my step and quickly bought it. Next stop was to an activist and organic grower, medical user, OomBoom. What a wonderful experience, beautiful garden using permaculture principles and very knowledgeable too. Had a cup of green tea, some tasty joints and bought a couple of his very well branded tshirts. Next stop was St Francis Bay. There are two cannabis shops, one for CBD/THC medicine and the other other a CBD Vape Club called PineApple Express. It was a good time to stop and buy some craft beer from The Brewing Company, delicious pale ale.
  23. If you watched tonights hotbox show, and heard what Marc Emery was quoted on saying about the quality and variety available in South Africa, we almost there. Just got back from a roadtrip a couple days ago, and totally amazed at the variety of cannabiz happening, from cannabis soap bars, to books, cannabis clubs ( every town on the garden route ) , heard sanlam is insuring cannabis for a quater million at one club. Its an amazing time to be alive, but unfortunately Marc Emery also said something else to remember, hopefully the laws stay in limbo, cause like a trawling net, they going to slowly reel it in with regulations.
  24. Is it not Black Kronic, thats what it says on my pack of seeds? Please mention #cannabispromoter, it helps me, help more.
