  1. Hours and hours in trim jail I also find that using a pair of pruning scissors that do not have any springs seriously helps when you are doing multiple hours in a row. My personal favourite pair of pruners are the Chikamasa B-500. If kept clean, the Japanese steel will last you a lifetime. Konnichiwa
  2. I have just weighed the recent harvest of the 5x ZxP plants. The total for this was 188g. Better yield than the KmintZ even though it was a whole one plant less, which is cool. The bud is looking pretty quality too so I am satisfied. I do want to start bumping these per plant harvests up though.
  3. Yet again, cops can't do shit themselves. Always keep your nose clean and don't draw attention to your neighbors. The proverb of "don't shit where you eat" comes to mind. Use carbon filters if you are gonna have a mad grow! Although the smell of cannabis is not enough to let police into your private area. You are allowed to consume cannabis in your private space so the victim didn't actually have to let the police in. Although, his actions of working with the police officers will probably help him in the long run, depending what he was saying during the initial inspection of his property. See these canisters? The above quote makes me think these are large bottles of butane. Alternatively it could be CO2. Either way, CO2 or butane, having those sized bottles in a confined space like this is a super no-no. Just this alone could get somebody into trouble and is actually quite frankly the only good part about this story. This dude was a mad lad having those bottles in a frickin bathroom
  4. Organic Tent™ has just hit week 5. There is already a little bit of fade developing, I'm pretty sure it's because of the cold. Night time temps in the tent are occasionally hitting 17C. The terpenes smell very crisp, sharp and sweet. The buds are also looking plump and healthy. Here's to the tail end of flowering! Will I see you again, PM Bro and Mr. Bud Rot? Hope not! I have also recently finished trimming the latest ZxP harvest. The buds look very nxa. I want to cure this batch for a full 2 months before even doing a tester Next I must trim the Wedding Cake harvest, it is still busy hanging and drying.
  5. I've owned the 600W Blackline electronic ballast and it's as loud as any airpump or fan I've used, except instead of a hum it's a high pitched rrrrrrrrrrrrrreeeeeeeeeee!!!!
  6. Let's say per 1.2m², 1000W but you don't need to run it at 100% all the time. Would also help with longevity if you could underpower the diodes. This I rate is a personal preference, but I do not enjoy the frequency that ballasts generate and I am unfortunate to be able to hear the coil whine so I would prefer the silence of drivers. I see where Lumii are coming from, and I actually think it's a really clever move to use ballasts over drivers because anybody who's invested in a 600W electronic ballast to run their MH/HID bulbs can easily just switch over to the LED fixture for a slightly cheaper price because you already own the ballast. Even I have a ballast lying around from the old days (3 years ago lol).
  7. I'd be willing to bet we are one generation away from what will become the new standard for LEDs. I think bar LEDs will take over from QBs and the efficiency of the drivers will also increase. If they could maybe bump up the wattage, replace the ballast with a dimmable driver and keep it all at the same price, I'd be sold. We honestly don't need UV, we don't need IR, just gooi me that good old 3000k full spectrum and some 660nm all in a neat little package and we good son.

  9. I can agree with that, hence why I think I overdo it a bit and use more than necessary but at a lower wattage then crank it up midway through flower. The single unit bar LEDs definitely have a spread advantage per unit, and therefore better operating temperatures. I tried finding it again now but I can't seem to. It was in a pdf of the Lumii LED from a store overseas I think, if I find it again I'll post it.
  10. We are getting really close to having retail products that are just as good and as cost efficient as going DIY. For a long time, you had to build your own QB then guys like @Light It Up came along to essentially take the same DIY formula but get the parts for you and basically have it ready setup for you. One really big consideration I keep in mind with LEDs is what happens when you hit your rated 50000 hours of use, what are you going to do? Are you going to replace your entire LED fixture? Can you replace the diodes alone? I know for a fact that the QB panels I use you can easily remove the QB288 board with the diodes on it and just simply replace it. They aren't even grossly expensive, the most expensive parts of the QB is the heatsink and then the driver, both of which you can keep. So when it comes to the new Lumii LED, and let's throw in that GIB lighting LED as well, can the diodes easily be replaced at end of life? I gave it a serious consideration as I needed to recently purchase lights for a 1.2x1.2 tent and I ended up getting two 240W QBs for R6k
  11. I was trying to find what diodes they were using but they just have a bunch of info on the lens over the diode but other than ppfd readings they don't say much. Wouldn't it be funny if it were just the ol' Samsung LM301B/H diodes
  12. Thank you, this was very insightful @Weskush I really like how Cradlestoned Quality Solutions runs things. Informative website with clarity on the legal situation in the country and a great FAQ page for newcomers. Very well done to them. I also like their model about keeping all things cannabis club related on-site. Their resources page also has pretty much everything one needs to know with sources in terms of the cannabis industry and it's current legal standing that anyone can self-research.
  13. Yeah, and THC also have expensive lawyers, lawyers who in fact were involved in the very constitutional court that GOA are using the judgment of to create their own in-house framework. I also don't see THC listed as an affiliate on GOA. THC are the ones fighting the real battle, in court, in this country, instead of passive aggressively breaking draft laws that aren't even enacted yet. I think we're reaching a point where the cannabis industry is going to have grown so big and have entrenched itself so much into communities through retail establishments and cafes that the justice system will inevitably have to catch up with the community, and I think this is what GOA and people like Chris Jay are pushing for. I just think it's risky business, but I guess that's what comes with social activism, but then let's call it that, and not a 'legal framework' or a 'license', because those do not exist within the cannabis industry except via the Medicines Act.
  14. Today I harvested the Wedding Cake just past 8 weeks into flower. The fade was looking substantial and I wasn't going to get anymore with the bud development. The PM was also starting to get a little overbearing. The frost on the sugar leaves and bud is looking real nice and the terpenes are fantastic! Very sweet vanilla scents coming through. I am very excited to give this a smoke. Things to improve on; I think there is a lot I can still do with this strain. First off I want to train this strain like I have been doing the others. I think in this way I will get some more consistent and larger bud size. You can also see how the bottom branches did the flop again, so better use of the net will also be necessary. Otherwise, I think it's a better run than the last Wedding Cake I did. I've taken down a lot of notes and I think I will be able to nail it on the next one.
  15. Hope you're lekker dude 8-)

My brother, all good, just been hard at work with the cup, then mixing soil, and now finally got time for myself again.

  16. I discovered these dudes called Under The Table Members Club (UTTMC) and they are pretty much the same model as THC. I was reading through their site and I saw this; ..and I think, huh? Verdict is still out with THC so where is this compliance and from who? So a little digging comes up with this: Who in the hell are GOA? These dudes are giving me Cannapax vibes with the black magic fuckery they doing with establishing their own loopholes when we all know that no legal framework exists and they are basing their entire model on the constitutional judgment from 2018 and because the two years that parliament had to establish the laws has lapsed people are just going free-for-all before the THC judgment is made or before parliament drops us a big dookie of a law. It seems kinda predatory to take payment from people and tell them they are "compliant" without actually having any legality to back it up. You literally cannot pull up any regulation or law in South Africa for this unless you're going through the Medicines Act, that is the only regulation that exists right now. I'm also open to being tuned. Nothing would make my day better than knowing I can go do the same and openly run a cannabis club under some arbitrary compliance, but I've also seen plenty people burned before.
  17. Blue Mist, the new crack strain.
