  1. FF soils are produced in ''batches'' so there could be a number of slight variations. Some plants can take a bit of punishment, while others struggle. It could also be that your plant is just a bit more sensitive. Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
  2. @Naughty.Psychonaut @Prom @Mambawana Checked out the whole thread. Breakdown: Plant is in FF ''living'' soil and you feeding salt based nutes. There seems to be more than one issue here. In my humble opinion gathered from the info on this thread is that the ''rootzone'' system has been harmed and it's affecting the soils natural ability to absorb and or ''buffer'' your feeding. The initial feeding ph as mentioned was too low, seems like hydro ph was applied to soil. Mixing hydro and soil is asking for headache I believe. Reference: In soil the rootsystem absorbs different nutes/elements at different areas, working in symbiosis with the micro organisms in the soil to control the ph at those different areas to facilitate absorption. Analysis: The natural system took a hit and it needs to be repaired/supported. 1. It doesnt look terrible, a few leaves showing some issues. Could only be early signs. 2. Is the new growth looking healthy, or is the damage progressing? 3. Has growth slowed down/ seemingly standing still? Suggestion: You've done a semi flush which will help, how much we can't be sure. Let her dry out normally and monitor. I'd suggest you get a batch of AACT going to re-innoculate your soil to assist recovery for the ''next'' watering. Some FF (for the EWC) soil or compost and molasses in dechlorinated water with active aeration. Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
  3. We all having to make due and substitute. I normally use seagrow, ecobuz, epsom, molasses and kelpak. We growing organic in soil atm, have had to diy on a few things. The volumes and mixing ratios I'll leave up to your discretion. I've used some of these ''solutions'' experimentally to correct defs and keep my grow going. Some work fast, others are slow release and remember less is more. Check your ph if you can. 1. Epsom for Mg and S (MgSo4) you can find in the shops in baking section. 2. Calcium I used the knf method- ground eggshell mixed with vinegar. Otherwise gypsum or dolomite if you can find it. 3. For Nitrogen I use my own organic compost and koipond water(contains ammonia and nitrite)and coffee grounds(slow release N) You can also use diluted urine - but each to his own. 4. Potassium you find in bananas and wood ash. (ash from the braai-NO briqettes) 5. Phosphorus - got some bonemeal(slow release), otherwise you can go the knf method and cook and boil some bones for bonebroth.( P and Ca ) It can be done with some extra elbow grease. Google is your friend here, do some research and find out what can work for you. You may become an Organic alchemist. Disclaimer: No plant was harmed in any of these experimental ideas.....except when they were enjoyed in my pipe or joint. Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
  4. Our Giant Cookie Bird lady started showing cloudy colours. Luckily not the whole plant, so she'll be harvested in stages depending on her trichs. The seasonal rainy weather and hot windless days in between does not bode well wrt budrot. Inspecting them every day now and cutting the bad pieces out before it spreads. Luckily its keeping to the smaller buds below the main colas. In two minds here, would prefer to push her for another week or two. But that idea is not without risk. We'll see how it goes. Thanks for the beans @Dank Cheers
  5. The Big Vanilla Kush lady fell gracefully over a 2 day period. Had some small spots of budrot showing up due to the seasonal rainy weather last week. Trichs were cloudy with a few ambers so wasn't going to push my luck too much. Whole house was scented with fruity sweetness during trimming...hahaha. Thanks @Dank for letting us grow your gear.
  6. Concur with above mentioned. Sunlight and humidity is not your friend here. You need an area with no direct sunlight and some ventilation. We're on the north coast, ambient humidity is always high 60-95%. We dry in the garage as it's the only space available, built a simple pulley system to hoist the buds out of harms way. A 12v server fan provides indirect airflow, you don't want to dry it out too fast, 4 to 7 days works for us. The buds need to dry out evenly all the way through, but not bone dry otherwise the curing process doesn't start properly and the smoke may be harsh. We leave them for 3 to 4 days then start checking-you want the thinner twigs/branches to snap when you bend them. Obviously with bigger buds it will take a bit longer. Lots of info on the net, check tobacco curing methods as well, help me to understand the process. We use hygrometers for the first few weeks in the jars. Petshops should have the basic ones for reptiles. Cheers and welcome to the journey. Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
  7. Aweh@Mambawana The plan is coming together nicely. Your selection criteria is solid and your GG cut delivered beautifully. Sign me up for some testing here in the land of the Zulus. Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
  8. Mine remains citrus zesty. Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
  9. I'd say predominantly citrus, an almost sour lemon zest with a faint hint of sweet floral. Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
  10. There are no links for these pics, sorry had to post pics. 1/2. Original mother. 2/4. Clones in the garden.
  11. Dig the handle@oldsandals Looking lekker.[emoji16] Also got some Swazi going, clones from mothers that originally came from country of origin. We enjoy them Sativas especially when cured well. Got a jar hidden away from May2019....very smooth. Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
  12. Aweh 420SA. Been scoping this thread and thought I'd chime in with my 2c. Pardon the disjointedness and my French pls. I believe in the bigger scheme of life there is a price to pay, bigger for some and smaller for others. Economically some can weather this better than others. There are some really sad things happening all over. General. The thing that irks me is that there are some really ''special'' people who have no inkling of the concept of ''unity'' or ''community''. They languidly browse around in stores or stand in groups at the malls talking shit - justpossibly spreading this life threatening pathogen. The lockdown isn't lekker but its there to protect everyone, stay the fuck at home, you could infect others because you can't control yourself or your boredom. Hello....!!! Where is natural selection or karma, can I nominate those mofos pls. Work related. We are on the other side of the coin...the ugly side.... Our industry never stopped working, (blessing in disguise maybe) but the usual high stress environment has evolved into something else, it has become a monster of a thing. Stress, worry, fear, but we do the best we can under very trying circumstances. I can see it in my colleagues' faces after shift, the nervous laughs, the unfunny jokes, its awfull. Shit man, we have ''control measures'' coming out our ears, the shitty smell of IPA hanging in the air- too scared to light a smoke for fear of an explosion..hahaha.[emoji3]. Never want to see or smell sanitizer ever again in my life. Then there's this shit....Last week in an ops meet we discuss some concerning issues with the client, we were frankly told ''do you job, you are just service providers''.....cold hearted pos, never wanted to fuck someone up so bad. On the personal side. My children stay with my ex, being involved in a high risk industry it was decided that they shouldn't visit weekends or the holiday, to mitigate any infection risk. Whattsapp and phonecalls only go so far. Last week I sat outside the gate at their house and chatted to my sons through the bars like a convict, because I would not be able to forgive myself if I possibly infected them. I understand that sacrifices have to be made, we all have to make them, but it's Fuckedup and I don't have to like it. We all have our part to play with this common threat. I would've preferred to stay at home. David Attenborough is cool. Heres my version. Mankind with all its intelegence, refuses to learn from mother nature. As a species we must exist in equilibrium with our enviroment or we will become extinct. Have a good one and stay safe. Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
  13. Had that happen before, harvested the plant and it was a decent smoke. Time is the issue, any risk of pollinating other ladies? Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
  14. Mister @Dank 's Vanilla Kush Cookie lady is ready for the chop at long last. We are doing a two stage harvest as she is just too big. The big colas will come down tomorow.
  15. Eishhh, that's sad to hear. Maybe it was too much too quick. This what I did. I got gifted an indoor girl by@Mambawana, was real carefull introducing her to sunlight as she was a full indoor girl. She sat indoor by an east facing window for a week before I took her outside into direct sunlight. Exposed her to direct sunlight for 3 to 6hrs each day over a period of 3 days. Checking her reaction after the 3rd day I left her outside for the whole day on the 4th day. Then repotted her from her coco medium to organic soil. She did pretty well, due to the time of season didn't grow to her full potential size, but still yielded some really dank buds which are curing at the moment. Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
  16. Afternoon 420SA This lady is putting on a awesome show. She's gained some good weight and will need support for her frosty burdens as she is not done yet. Lekker.
  17. Welcome to the forum, Plenty of info here and many knowlegable indoor growers that can assist. We from the same area but I grow outdoors. Enjoy. Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk

  19. I'll agree with@Prom on those steps. It is very difficult to tell from just a picture, you need some form of magnification to check several spots on the buds to get an overall idea of where they are at. As a grower you need to aquire certain basic but valuable tools....a handheld loupe or magnifying glass being one of them. At least x40-x100 magnification.(x10 not enough) Pls don't only check the sugar leaves...focus more on the calyxes on the body of the bud.(Sugar leaves tend to go amber faster than the rest of the bud). I check the top, middle and bottom of the large buds/colas. But also spot check all over the plant. When the pistils start browning(peak pollination time), I check once or twice a week. With repetitive checking you will begin to see clear trichs going milky. As pistils brown completely, I'll start checking every day. If I am happy with the colours, I'll still wait a day or so. Then we harvest. Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
  20. Been pondering.....thinking of cutting and sewing a 20-40% shade net cover to fit our tunnel frame. Improved airflow and ventilation is what we're after, would be a good option for summer, we running as is for winter for the experience, just to see. Ĺots of possible modifications in the future. Hi all! :)

Lekker. Enjoy. Have a look around and ask questions. Learnt a lot on the forum. Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk

    Random grow?

It can depend on the strain as well. Certain plants just trim easy wet or dry. Swazi gold is a pain to trim dry cause of all the tiny sugar leaves. We have found thru trial and error that we prefer wet trim above dry. As the leaves dry they curl in, making dry trimming a bit of a pita and it takes much longer. We gently rinse/wash the green plant with water and shake off excess before trimming. Less stickyness on your hands and tools. Each to his own. Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
  23. Looking good@Mambawana Smaller plants/clones for breeding simplify a lot of stuff and they produce enough beans. Just let them mature properly-but you got that covered. Have you got a closed off area to contain pollen? Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
  24. Looks like some good spires starting. Lekker.[emoji16] Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
  25. Trying the best I can, thanks@Dank There will always be challenges, but we learn and handle them better. Yeah these ladies of yours are going to deliver. Luckily no budrot yet, but enough spidermites and worms and caterpillars. Caterpillar/worm poop is budrot breeding ground with our humidity. Butterflies might be pretty, but I can't like them anymore....hahaha.[emoji3] Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
