Received the air pump and put this together yesterday. Quick and easy and working well. Think im gonna have a go at the vortex too to see if this pump can do it

Hi @420SA, and all tea brewers out there, I want to brew my AACT too this summer and I think I decided to build an airlift brewer too. Do you think a 40l/min would also work? I just ordered the following pump.

    https://www.futurama.co.za/sunsun-aco-002-magnetic-piston-air-pump-40l-min/

Did you use 40mm Pvc tubing?

  2. I would use the fishmix in veg as it is quite high in N. Bloom and grow can be used in combination during flowering. I think on the biobizz website you'll find the feeding charts which will give you an idea how much of what to feed. Topmax also helps to fatten up the buds. Some here use root Juice for the early stages. This way you might also get a good idea of how much you need for the season. I think 5 liters would be a bit much. Maybe start with 1-2 liters and get new stuff when needed.

I think when it comes to taste or overall quality your soil is the most important factor but yes the fertilizer plays a role as well.

I also agree with @CoolJ that meeting precautions against pest is the way to go. If you've got super healthy plants they are able to fight of all kinds of pests and unwanted fungi. I am not too clued up on cover crops though. Maybe also take a look at compost teas used as foliar spray. I just wouldn't buy all kinds of bottled insecticides.

And yes, you'll most likely run into all sorts of pests, bad weather, etc along the grow. That's one of the challenges of growing outdoors but makes it also an interesting journey.

  3. Hi @BluntKnife, looking forward to follow along!

I do grow my plants outdoors too and used FF soil so far. I always achieved good results. So I think you can't really go wrong with Freedom Farms.

The Biobizz range is also great especially if it's your first grow. It's very difficult to overdo it and burn your plants with biobizz. If you're on a tight budget get fishmix, grow and bloom.

Regarding insecticides/fungicides I always get my stuff once I know what I am dealing with.

  4. She grew quite a lot since last time I saw her bro. Beautiful lady!

I am not sure about the light as my last indoor grow was ages ago. But if you got a veg light it puts out more the blue color spectrum which might not do to your plant what you'd like it would do. Like @Dank already said it would be better if you could introduce some red light spectrum for flowering. Found an interesting read about that topic.

In doubt, I would rather just let the sun do a good job. In case your nights are not below 15 degrees you could leave her outside. Otherwise I would take her in over night.

  5. Definitly looks awesome for 3 or 4 weeks into flower. I actually don't mind paying a bit more as long as it's going to pay out in the end. Then again I saw a 10 pack of reg seeds from them for a bit over 7000 Rand... Seems to be aimed at breeders or Pheno hunters.

Anyway I am curious about how your Sluricane turns out.

  6. @SkunkPharmLooking forward to follow along. Also had a similar plan for the coming outdoor season. Actually 8 different Autoflowers and 2 Photos... Well looks like I need to decide which 2 of the 8 Autos I will not germinate this year.

I got a question. I see you've got seeds from In House Genetics. The other day I noticed how expensive they are compared to other seedbanks. Are they worth the price?

  7. I am afraid the commercial part of regulation might become a dirty game where each big shark in the pond will try and make big money walking over dead bodies. As soon as big money is involved people can become monsters. I think people like you and me will have a tough time to establish a business unless you got friends in the right places. I agree it is unconstitutional to exclude people from getting a chance and live from the cannabis business but I have seen many things happening (especially lately during lockdown) that appear unconstitutional to me.

When it comes to Police I hope they'll get a real good briefing about what is allowed in terms of cannabis cultivation and storage and what isn't allowed. To be honest I doubt that's going to happen and we'll still see lot's of cannabis related arrests in the beginning.

As already stated I am personally happy with the Bill in terms of what I am allowed to grow. I will never be able to consume more than 1.2 Kg (my wife doesn't smoke) in a year.

One question that I asked myself and excuse if this has been answered somewhere already. What happens if I harvest 1.5 Kg and use 0.5 Kg for bubble hash or other concentrates? In the end I should have a stash of less than 1.2 Kg again. Wouldn't that be some sort of loophole @Ill_Evan?

    Where u at @Fridgedoor ?

...been to the beach, breaking lockdown regulations 😉.

That thing actually works. It's a pain to get a picture but it works. Here's a close up picture of the last inzane plant I grew (Never had trichome production like this before). In the longrun I want to invest in something proper, so I follow along.

  9. It's windy here in the Cape, so the plants will get some stresstraining from mother nature by default ☺️... Maybe I should give regular seeds a go next round. And if there are too many females I can take care for, I am sure there’s someone in here willing to adopt some ladies.

  10. @oros da bossI also saw the neat design from Hso, but I'm not sure how much additional cost a box like that would bring but I guess it's quite a bit. I personally would also be fine with just the vial though.

Regarding fems, autos oder regs I think it depends a bit what you want to do. I like to germinate my autos along some fems so I can harvest the autos in December/January and the fems in April/Mai. My space is limited even though I grow outdoors so regulars are a bit tricky. For example when I am really Lucky and 10 out of 10 turn out to be female I won't have enough space for all of them.

  11. @TotemicI like how Dinfem is packaging their seeds. It's relatively basic, practical and keeps the seeds save. Plus the collector has something to look at. Maybe that's something you could use?

I was actually thinking of getting seeds from you one day. Where would I get some if I don't want to order through the seedbank that has been removed from this site recently?

  12. @oros da bossI totally missed this one... I've checked malted barley and it looks quite promising. I'll give it a go and add it to my mix.

In the meantime I started testing my soilmix (now just about 30 days) using my 'test plant'. I transplanted the 4 week old plant directly into the soil without layering as I want to see if she can take it. That was 3 days ago and it seems she likes it. Getting more and more excited and can't wait for spring (damn there’s snow on the mountains around here...)
