  1. @John Stonedwell Eish, how far into the grow are the Motherland Genetics plants?
  2. 100% I have said that exact thing in a different thread. As a consumer now a days, one needs to become the expert and do a full investigation before committing to something, otherwise you can end up being shafted and taken for a ride.
  3. One needs to ensure they buy from reputable breeders. People buying seeds in bulk and reselling, putting different names on these strains, using pictures from others and not of the actual seeds they're selling etc. IMO these strains / breeders / brands you want to avoid. Rather buy seeds from a breeder who has input into what is being bred and not just from someone who buys their seeds and resells (not talking about seedbanks, but "breeders"). 4. This is the issue, it's all proprietary blends. Lol If one is feeding the microbes in soilless, I don't see why it would differ much. Less organic matter but they're getting food still. Sent from my Redmi Note 7 Pro using Tapatalk
  5. I have seen it before, never tried it. My thing is, how does this compare to other microbe inoculations? Products like Biodyne, EM pro soil, ExploGrow etc? Perhaps a little off topic, but a lot of these products all recommend redosing throughout the grow - if one is providing feed for the microbes, surely they should be happy and thriving and multiplying and not require another inoculation? Perhaps it is for those who do not provide food for the microbes.
  6. Some interesting results. RAW and OCB both have some strong following! However RAW has a wider range and in SA more (maybe all?) of their products are available. I have never seen pre-rolled OCB cones being sold locally. RAW on the other hand, it is becoming very common - a lot of the vape shops and most headshops sell RAW and a large selection of their range too.
  7. As everyone else has said, the plant is busy re-vegging as the amount of hours of light is now increasing, so they will continue to veg until next year March / April and then will start to flower if you keep them outdoors. They're going to be BIG plants. Monsters of note as they are going to have a looot of time to veg.
  8. I also started reading the article and quickly stopped. It was hard to read.
  9. Well, I think both are decent. I personally would get a light with some Samsung LM301B/H diodes - I have been growing with LM301B diodes for over 3 years and they're awesome and still some of the best value for money diodes around which are tried and tested. Most of my friends also use lights with the Samsung LM301B diodes and no complaints, they're just happy and impressed with the performance compared to the lights they were using previously. Epistar diodes are also good but I feel the Samsung LM301B has the upper hand in terms of efficiency. I do not think Mars Hydro state which Epistar diodes they make use of, so cannot pull the specs and confirm. I doubt the Epistar diodes are more efficient than the Samsungs though. Is it just those 2 lights which you are considering? Based on the pricing I can find, the below is the price per watt. Might be more useful comparing value this way considering the one light is 240W and the other is 300W. Light It Up: R17.70 Mars Hydro: R29.33 In a 1.2m x 0.6m tent (you said it would fit better in the space you had) 240W would be sufficient I feel. In a 1m x 1m tent (I feel a bigger tent is the way to go, the space will always be appreciated) having more than 240W would be nice but you can get good results with just 240W in the 1m x 1m still. When taking price into consideration, you could spend the same amount of money on 2x 240W lights for a total of 480W vs 1x Mars TSL-2000 which is 300W. Both are dimmable lights, both are silent and fan less.
  10. Option 1 gives you a larger grow area (1sqm vs 0.72sqm on the 1.2m x 0.6m tent). More space is always welcome! Based on this I would recommend option 1. In terms of the lights, well, you have seen the reviews. Let us know what you decide and then start a grow diary for your indoor grow!
  11. I do not recommend Mammoth. I am quite disappointed with the quality of mine, I expected better or a lower price to justify the quality. I have heard good things about Mars tents and my friend loves his Mars tents. The quality looks good from what I have seen. Budbox, I love mine! There are 2 gripes I have with it where I feel it could be improved to make it near perfect but not the end of the world either. Secret Jardin is not bad either, but the quality varies depending on which range you are looking at. Also a big no for the Magic Garden tents, even worse quality than Mammoth. I'd also give that Plant Living tent a skip, seems to be a no name chinese tent and often the quality is questionable - despite the fact that some use metal corners. Light House I have heard of but never seen in person @Ill_Evan may be able to give more info on the Light House tents. I think he has seen them in person.
  12. I think I see and understand it a bit better now. You are basically saying reuse the soil and as time goes on the organic matter content would increase and therefore the holding capacity increase as well? All the dead roots and perhaps some other matter too.
  13. My experience has been the opposite that soil does not hold as much water as coco. This has been soil out of the bag, like Freedom Farms or Organics Matter. Soil from my garden without a doubt holds far less water than the craft cannabis soils. The structure of the soil would certainly play a big role in the water holding capacity an it would vary between different soil mixes. You can train your plants and/or make use of additives to help make the plants more robust and resistant to drought etc. Microbes increasing the water holding capacity is news to me and my mind boggles to try understand this. The only way I see this working is with the microbes breaking down stuff in the soil - but then just adjust the way you compose the soil and you could have it hold more water from the get go. I can understand that certain conditions or substances can lead to plants making use of less water, in which case you do not need to water as often. Mulch and environment can play a big role in how often one needs to water as well. Hot days, low RH and the pots dry out quicker for sure. I guess the next question would be how quickly does it happen? From opening a 30L bag of soil until the water holding capacity is increased significantly and even then, what would be classified as significant? I can understand one might not always want more water holding capacity as well though.
  14. When I was growing with soil I preferred the Organics Matter over Freedom Farms. I do not recall Orgasoillux, perhaps that was introduced after I moved away from soil. Coco will hold more water than soil, it is also more important to ensure your soil never dries out completely as this will negatively affect the soil and microbes as it will lead to the soil compacting more and it is more difficult to rehydrate soil than it is coco. Soil will make for an easier transition to indoor growing though but deciding to go coco or hydro off the bat is not a bad idea either as you know how to grow and have some experience... Plus it is not all that difficult or different to be honest.
  15. I think the issue with the drawstring is the material is textured and a bit grippy, which makes pulling on the drawstring a bit of a mission. If it was PTFE lined or another material which is not as grippy, I think it would work well then. Glad you like your tent though!
  16. So I was wondering, price aside, which is your preferred rolling paper / cone? There are loads, so I mentioned some of the more popular or common ones and then there is an other option and you can just mention it in your post.
  17. Welcome! Freedom Farms green bag soil is very popular for indoor use, as well as a few other soils. As for using nutes with the soil, I personally prefer to (when I was using soil) and many growers make use of nutes with their soil but some prefer to use just plain water, some make teas - it varies a bit and personal preference comes into play here. You could add a few extra amendments, but I do not feel it is really necessary. Perhaps start simple and do not add any additional amendments and see how it goes. Later on once you're comfortable you can look at tweaking it a bit or look at moving to a different medium for indoor. If I was in your situation, I would go with plain soil and feed nutes. Depending on which nutes you plan to use, you can go lower or if it has a soil chart (Like GHE / Terra Aquatica nutes) then follow that. When I was using soil I was giving nutes with every feed. If you have any additives or foliars, you can continue to use those as per normal.
  18. Never seen that bug before, no clue whether it is a good thing or not. Also curious now.
  19. Welcome and enjoy your stay! Why not start a grow diary?
  20. @Wondergom All good, welcome and enjoy your stay! If you have a grow going, why not consider starting a grow diary?
  21. Welcome @Wondergom I am not active on Reddit much but will take a looksy. You same the person claiming to be banned? You are not banned on this forum and no logs of you having been banned either. The member you mentioned in that thread is not a moderator either.
