Novakane F1

Hey guys! 

I am really looking forward to this grow. Objective is for personal breeding purposes. 

This will be my first time experimenting with breeding cannabis, any help is appreciated

 

Currently growing Laughing Buddha (Barney's Farm) and Charlotte's Angel (Dutch Passion). Plan is to cross Novakane with these strains, as well as breeding Novakane F2 seeds. 

Novakane F1 seeds were sourced from @Totemic. On a side note, just a thank you from my part. The beans I ordered arrived swiftly, with a lot of freebies! The quality of these seeds are unmatched. 

Started germinating today, soaked 5 regular seeds for 30min in Explogrow. Afterwards transferring them to a 1:100 solution of Explogrow and pH 6 water for 12 hours. 

Am a fan of the paper-towel method, and have had great success placing said paper-towel inside a plastic bag on top of my router. Will do this next...

Nice. Keen to see what comes out. Will you be crossing the THC rich genes with the CA CBD? What are your desired outcomes for such crosses?

Yes @Gloriosa superba, I am also quite keen to see the outcome of this cross!

Charlotte's Angel is one the best CBD strains I have grown, in yield, vigour and taste/effect. Hoping to carry this over to the offspring whilst retaining the medicinal benefits. Not sure of the resulting THC:CBD ratios.

Very interesting cross, good luck man. I'm in the process of researching which direction to go for my first canna breeding program.

Awesome. Keen to follow. Using those F1s, your resulting cross will be a poly hybrid, with many different phenos. Some will be slurricane dominant, others GTH, others Charlotte's angel etc etc.... expect the the GTH to dominate.

Not a bad thing, as this space is where you find unique phenos.

Likewise your THC:CBD ratios will be on a spectrum, and not uniform through the plants

So you're going to need to blaze a number of fatties to determine the outcomes. WooHOO!! sounds like a jol!

Time for an update! 

All 5 of the seeds germinated. Three of them struggled, the shell is quite hard. Would recommend some sand paper or other method to gently weaken the shell, they germinated swiftly afterwards. 

Inoculated the medium with Explogrow and Mycoroot before planting.

I'd say something happened at the root zone, and showing on those leaves due to this.

Nice. Would love to see how these pan out. Very different plants that was use to breed here. Bud structure is completely different. Both plants has a good strech on them. At least 200%. I will follow along.
