BT First Indoor Grow

Wassup 420 fam.

Started my first indoor grow about 2 weeks ago. Not much happening at the moment...

Strain- Original Orange Bud Auto from Biltong and Buds.

Medium- Freedom Farms Classic

Pot Size- ± 13 L

Grow Space- ± 50x50x 180cm

Lighting-  120w QB from @Master_G

Light schedule- 18/6

Nutes- EHG Grow, Micro and Bloom

Prayer

Soaked seed for 12 hours then into jiffy pellet. Germination was slow and first true leaves were a bit on the yellow side. Not sure if its due to cold CPT weather or bad genetics. I'm just happy Stella got her groove back. Watering with only dechlorinated tapwater at pH 6 every 2-5 days

Entering week 3 now and she's coming along nicely.

Can I start feeding nutrients at this stage or should I wait another week or so?

There is still plenty of nutrients in that soil. I would not feed it untill it starts flowering. And get some biobuzz bloom. That is all she will need.

@SkunkPharmGreat stuff. Thanks man. I was originally planning to grow in a hydro bubbler bucket thats when I got the EHG nutrients. Will anything bad happen if a person should use EHG nutes in organic soil?

There is people that grow with salts in soil. But at lower doses than what they recomend. If you do have microbes in your soil and you feed salts the plant will stop producing sugars for them. The plant produces sugars to stimulate certain microbes to increase the size of the microbial colonies. Certain microbes breaks down phosphate ions to chelated phosphorus and others break down ammonia to chelated nitrogen. Only chelated ions can be absorbed by the plant. Once you start feeding already chelated ions (nutient salts) the plant stops regulating these microbial colonies and thus will die off as the do not have food.

So decide which way you want to go.

yo shot for the info bro🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 sounds like feeding inorganic nutrient salts to soil will do more harm than good? I'm trying to keep it as natural as possible so will defs be going organic with this grow👌🏽 I reckon since plants are living , the soil it's in should be as well🤷🏽‍♂️😅

I have had great results with salts in soil.

But @SkunkPharmis right... The roots will stop producing carbs for your microbe population... But because it's soil, they will still stick around and continue breaking down whatever is left in the soil.

Some mollasses feeds will help keep them happy and busy helping your roots whenever they can

I'm not saying it is wrong to add salts. You could probably do both you must just know what you are doing to the microbes in your soil. But like @CreX is saying molasses will keep them alive. I am currently experimenting with adding wood ash to my water to see if a potassium boost late in flower does anything to the plants.

I run all my plants in organics, and if it's a plant for seeds I keep a full on organic approach. If it's a plant for bud, then I usually supplement MKP at an EC not really pushing past 0.8-1.0. From about 4 weeks, And then once again at 6 weeks.

Makes total sense. Never would have thought about molasses. brilliant idea.  thanks man !

Howzit la familia

Quick update.

So far so good. Following through on some solid advice from the more experienced growers around and keeping it simple.

Not much happening.  Still just giving dechlorinated water with Ph of 6.5 once or twice a week. 18

First leaves turning slightly yellow but otherwise she seems quite happy.

Older leaves have this weird curling thing going on. No idea what it might be but as far as I can see it's not affecting her negatively so I'm happy

What she looks like after 3 weeks.

More updates coming soon.

Sup Bud.

shot for the thread.
I have the same set up and questions. But this has helped.
Also trying FF the green bag for the first time and I’m in veg with Humboldt Bubba and royal queen gorilla, they all looking great for now also have that weird leaf action on the ladies but new growth looks good, wonder what that is, possibly hight nitrogen??

are you sticking with GHE slat nutrients and supplementing with molasses? I still have about two weeks feed left in the FF soil or three so I can still move over to biobizz? I think that’s only a two part mix I don’t know what other additives to add to that though besides kelp?

I normally use atami coco perlite which is great substrate but at 300 a bag it’s a bit prices hence the FF run, I should have maybe done a test on cheaper generics😬 so getting this right when I start feeding is critical. Any further advise and feeding schedules would be great from the guys.
as mentioned I use and have always used GHE with the Lukas formula and had great crops but with FF it sounds like that changes up everything. What to do oh what to do.

is the biobizz route the simplest and easiest route to go growing in the FF green bag or can I just run lower feeds with GHE and add a bit of molasses, which I do in every grow anyway?

@Totemic what organic feed are you using for your buds the normal FF green bag and biobizz?

@Burly yeah thanks man glad this thread could help amd great grow you have there!

This is my first grow and its an auto I'm trying to stick to the basics as much as I can.

FF soils is the choice of many growers from the grow diaries I read and people I've spoken to. A lot of people say too "hot" for straight planting.

I honestly expected much more burn from the soil but its only those 2 leaves affected so I'm not stressing too much.

Like you I'm also suspecting high Nitrogen but I have only been giving Ph 6.5 water for 3 weeks and the soil should have some nutrients left.

I'm ditching the synthetic nutes and I'm going to start giving Biobizz bloom only for this grow once flowering starts. I will get some  Fish mix as another possible addition for future grows . Wanna see if I can get my hands on some mollasses this week and see what it does.

Lots of guys around here have had great results with other nutes beside organic one's using FF soil. You can get great results either way but the choice is yours really bro.

Like @Totemic said,  MKP is his go to so thats also an option. I need to read up more on MKP though it seems like a good product to use.

Everyone has their own growing style I guess🤷🏽‍♂️

just my 2cents

Hey howzit guys

Finally got some action and things are starting to smell😁 Finishing week 6 going into week 7. Passing the halfway mark.

I got my baby a new home. Previous space was too cold and higher risk of pests chowing her so I went and got a grow cab and modified it slightly. Hooked up some cheap fans to circulate and extract air and she seems happy. IMG_20200728_174455.thumb.jpg.97e6cff403f6e11c62baf7e957c0555d.jpg

Otherwise, not much happened during the last few weeks. Still feeding just pH balanced water and keeping up the 18/6 light schedule. I'm seeing new growth looking normal and older leaves showing signs of deficiency or maybe light burn?  Will start feeding nutes soon. Have to get by with EHG nutes in pH balanced water according to lockdown budget.

Shoutout to@Master_G your lights are fire bro!!🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥  Really efficient. Real quality material👌🏼

She really is looking good, those lights and gardener must be doing something right😉 I was just wondering if you were going to do some LST to get more bud sites out that lady. It’s a pretty simple process of bending back the top coles and making light available to the lower branches. We could all give our take on the process, it’s just one of those many things each grower might and do do differently but really increases plant health and healed. It might be a tad to late to get the full benefits of LST but I’ve also run a few plants and only started training in the start of flowering, of course trining autos the earlier is always better. Maybe an idea for your next run. I always hit training early as possible with autos as defoliating might affect some strains bad and stunt growth.

Good looking out bru. Now that you mention it I do see alot of bigger leaves covering up smaller bud sites. LST is something I'm itching to try on her but I'm still too much of a noob😅 (miaaauw)  It may be too late too start now but next run I'll be going with photo's and work on my training game💪🏼 seen some insane plant training around here man and I'm eager to get in the action🔥

Started with a few seeds around 2 weeks ago, 4 of them. All bag seed.
Along with a bunch of equipment, I received 3 fresh seedlings of In-House genetics "Deluxe Sugarcane".
All 7 seedlings currently under 1 x QB-75 from GrowOpz (32cm above tallest plant), 18/6 cycle in the tent.
Soil being used is called "420 Mix" by 3Sixty.
Only feeding I have done was for the soil - Biodyne Environoc 1ml/L given for the first time with last watering. Pots seem to be holding water for 2/3 days at a time.

I'll post the back log of photo's here, the 3 bigger girls in the middle are the Deluxe seeds, the other 4 are mystery seeds.

Please comment, good, bad, happy, sad, all welcome. I'm a fast learner and eager to learn, I look forward to it!
