So my clones finally took root, was giving me sleepless nights.

Tried it in just water (white tub) no luck, best method for me is rooting powder in rockwool  and spray them with water few times per day.

These girls are almost at 4 weeks into flowering... They are taller then me! lol

Example of "normal" dead leaves... guess due to low light.

Not bad bud production above the light.

That's all folks, time for a chocolate coffee and a fat joint... Maybe ill pull the dead leaves.... maaaybe. 😉

@PsyCLown I know it has been a while, not been motivated this cold winter to bond much with the girls.

So as of today a year ago this girl sprouted, oh how time goes quick seeing them grow up!

SO Yah here is her current status, going to be her 4th harvest will be chopping her next week (11 wks flower) and then ill see how much more I got this time. She is dense and collapsing under her own weight I am defs going to have a different strategy next round in how I let her grow.

One thing I can tell is that you don't need to warm up your water or room temperature in Cape Town.

Below pic. Background is generation 5 of her clones. And in the foreground are bag seed Purple Haze. My friend has some Purple Haze, looked beautiful so I really wanted to give it a try.

Harvest done and drying, took me a full day, thank god winter is over and my girls survived it. My only issue in winter was powdery mildew, once there you cannot get rid of it. ( Gave the harvest a H2O2 bath ).

Regarding letting the plant grow past the light.... Stoner idea! just don't do it.

Below new setup, clean bleached the whole place and moved all the purple lights to the flowering section ( the white light caused the buds to stretch to much ) changed my office desk so i can see my girls grow. Anyone recons sitting in your grow room is healthy, as in more oxygen for me and co2 for the plants?

Generation 6 clones in white tub on left, clones on right is from Purple haze that I have been growing from seed. I have topped them and going to put the clones under the 12/12 light to determine who is a lucky girl.

I don't think sitting in your grow area is unhealthy, although my Quantum boards are super bright, even when giving them only 140w it's crazy how much light shines out from my grow area.

May be worth investing in some good quality full spectrum grow lights to replace those LED flood lights.

Gave the girls a nice trim and sprayed them with Neem oil, going to try a horizontal growth this time without moving them. What bugs me in the back of my mind is root rot, last flowering batch i did not clean/sterilize the reservoir every week when refreshing nutrients and all seems fine. I do have to get my mind around for support, was thinking of J-shaped pvc pipes on one side where the buds can rest on.

Okay cool.

If you follow the nutrient guide you should be okay...

But I would let the plants stay in the res for 2 to 3 weeks...

Iv noticed deficiencies after 3 weeks, so that's the sweet spot for me.

The plants drink waaay more water than nutrients... And if you forget to top the res up for a few days, the nutrients ppm really shoots up high and can cause shit.

But that seems like a decent meter... I think I got mine from Green thumb, and was around 400 shmakers...

It is definitely something you should try organizing for your grow.

And pH? You use the drops or do you have a meter?

Plants are looking good otherwise👌 you gonna scrog these ladies?

Happy Friday all, drink and smoke time!!!

The clones have rooted after two weeks ( winter four weeks ) and are in the DWC system looking a bit pale. These are the 6th generation clones. (the six in the back) The front row is the Bag seed Purple Haze, took cutting of each of them and put them to clone and flower mode to determine sex two weeks ago, still waiting on God for flower signs!20191018_145859.thumb.jpg.7071850a09d235a44bfd37ac63003b84.jpg

Found these eggs on the Purple Haze girls.... was a bit worried until I saw the mom.

Mom hiding under desk,  Moths not a sign of good luck?

The below four girls (generation 5) are in week one flowering, have created a support system where eventually the heavy branches can rest on.

Hope you all recovered after the Bokke's victory! Some updates on my girls.

My four Purple Haze seeds turned out 50/50 m&f cant wait to put them under 12/12 light. Oh anyone grown Purple haze? apparently the purple color only comes out under cold temperatures!

Ok so after my last batch of flowering,I left her on her own and she grew past the lights, was a bad idea. Got this time a support system on the wall where she can lean on and i can scrog her. Also i got rid of the white light in flowering, was giving to much stretch in the buds.

They going into week 4 of flowering.

Great stuff there. DWC is still my most favorite way to grow. It costs the least in nutes. You use far less water. I haven't read through your whole post but I can imagine trying to do a reservoir change with the plants all scrogged up must be a lil tricky.

When I 1st played around with dwc I grew in those black 20 litres buckets. Checking the ph and ec of each individual bucket became a real pita until I made it rdwc.

How do keep the temperature of the nutrient solution down? And what Nutes do you use? You have 1 rocking garden😎...

@Mambawana Thanks man.. well so far I have done 0 on humidity and temperature of air/water. Warmest it got 26 and coldest 8 no root rot.Strong aquarium air pump on each 45l bin. My ph was stable until I introduced a Purple Haze... she turns the water acidic quickly. Using the cheap hortimix dry nutes.

You sure it's the purple haze causing that. Have you changed the nute ratio. Maybe you started adding the hortimix MKP or have you already ruled out it's not related to Nutes. My nute solution used to always have a swing from 5.8 - 6.2 in a week until I got some root rot. That's when the Ph used to drop. Next run elevate those totes a little so that you can drop the totes to have a look at the roots every reservoir change. Unfortunately we don't have all those beautiful products we see the guys on YouTube have to kill that slimy bacteria. Hydrogen peroxide keeps it at bay somewhat.

I apologise if you are experienced with dwc and I'm just chirping in when you already know what's happening in your garden. Just thought I'd share my experiences with you. And I made deadly mistakes in dwc.

When I upgraded single bucket system to rdwc(3 buckets 2 plants) in week 2 flower I poisoned my plants to their death overnight. I was too anxious to do the switch after building the new system that I didn't run the system with just water for 24hours to remove all that poisonous tangent residues.
