  1. Very few posts I enjoy as much as a nicely done DIY project. Well done, looking great Sent from my CLT-L29 using Tapatalk
  2. Thanks, with current grow space it will be a miracle if I harvest more than 600g EDIT If I don't grow out the current rooting clones, closer to 300g Sent from my CLT-L29 using Tapatalk
  3. Yeah, last update is literally 'Shipment delivered PARCEL CONFISCATED BY SAPS' Sent from my CLT-L29 using Tapatalk
  4. Basically just water and lights at the moment. Sent from my CLT-L29 using Tapatalk
  5. Super paranoid man Sent from my CLT-L29 using Tapatalk
  6. Plant matter is mentioned and so is cannabis extract. It is what it is. My only concern is the last update stating it was confiscated by SAPS. Sent from my CLT-L29 using Tapatalk
  7. I've only very recently started playing with arduino co2 sensors. I have 2 x MH-Z19B's not sure how accurate they are though Sent from my CLT-L29 using Tapatalk
  8. So in terms of 'sending' clones to friends, how does this fall into the current Grey area? Recently had a clone I sent to a mate be confiscated by Aramex. Is that as simple as it is and the end of the story, or do I need to be concerned. Aramex terms and conditions do state that they will not ship plant matter though :) Sent from my CLT-L29 using Tapatalk
  9. I've also used them, first order did not arrive but a replacement was shipped without any problems. They've been around for quite some time Sent from my CLT-L29 using Tapatalk
  10. No worries, i see you already have one in place, I was talking about the secondary unit. Sent from my CLT-L29 using Tapatalk
  11. The COBs I use do not use drivers, I am aware that probably also impact my power usage. My 100w ebay chips cost me around R80 - R120 each. Used alu to build the frame and added a few fans to keep it cool. They were bought before lockdown, so importing is now an obvious challenge Sent from my CLT-L29 using Tapatalk
  12. Great idea to regulate output, that is definately an easy Diy. You could even use an 'air regulator' for fishtanks. Key things to remember 1. Dissolve all sugar, use a stove top if needed. I normally just boil the kettle, +- 1.7L, dissolve my 500g - 600g brown sugar. 2. Ensure sufficient oxygen. Yeast needs oxygen and sugar to create Co2. Using a 5L bottle, shake up the remaining 3.3L or use an airstone and pump to add O2. 3. Add dissolved sugar mixture to cold water. Once sugar has been added, you can once again give it a good shake, ensure proper mixing whilst adding O2 by means of shaking 4. Temperature, you want your water temp to be around room temp, if the water is too hot, it will kill your yeast, same goes for cold water. When water is right temp, add your yeast. 5g per 5L, but using those 7g anchor sticks, will work just fine. 5. Do not shake the bottle after adding yeast, you can after 15mins,turn the bottle a few times to mix, but don't shake. 6. Water trap. It is quite important to make sure no O2 can get back into your mix. A pinhole or 2 in the lid of a cooldrink bottle will also works. Good luck and use that brewers yeast to make some cider :). Brewers yeast is hard to come by at the moment. Sent from my CLT-L29 using Tapatalk
  13. I could be wrong, but Brewers / brewing yeast may not be the best option here, although it will certainly cause no harm. When brewers yeast consumes sugars, it creates co2 and alcohol, whereas bakers yeast will focus on co2, with alcohol as a side effect. I've found that 1g of yeast per 100g sugar and 1L water seems to be a pretty fool proof recipe with plenty bubbling... Sent from my CLT-L29 using Tapatalk
  14. I personally use only COBs, the spread is not great, your actual output directly in line with the COB will be much higher than if you were to move your reader just a few cm. COB also has a big heat factor compared to QB, as well as much less energy efficient, depending on the output of your COBs anyway. GP weather is great to counteract this at the moment though and my 1.5x1.5 tent is running at an average of 22 deg. My COBs don't allow for indoor summer grow unless I fire up A/C The upside with COBs are that, with a little electrical know how, you can put together a DIY light, reducing your initial cost, but also allowing for easy expansion. 15. Both are Bruce Banner #3, one showing a strong purple pheno. Sent from my CLT-L29 using Tapatalk
  16. My Brucie should also turn into THE hulk by month end [emoji39] Sent from my CLT-L29 using Tapatalk
  17. Sauce So with PostNet specifically, they prohibit plant matter, which I can probably safely say cannabis falls under. Now..that isn't to say I've never received cannabis via PostNet..but I am not advocating you do anything risky or illegal..just saying..things happen.. Awesome thank you for the feedback, I was looking at aramex which I think postnet outsources to in some cases. They actually have something specifically about connabis, but the info on the link from their site to the related topic has been removed Sent from my CLT-L29 using Tapatalk
  18. Hello fellow cannalovers. As we are nearing the due date for the outcome from parliament, does anyone know what the current legislation is around sending bud via postnet? Not massive amount, figure probably around 50g or so. Can't seem to find anything online. Sent from my CLT-L29 using Tapatalk
  19. I normally do a gel dip, then a powder dip. Takes 8 - 12 days to fully root in peat pellets and around 14 days if going directly into potting soil. I mist cuttings and the inside of the tray. Seal for 3 days, then remove the hood on day 4. Days 5 - 8 I allow some fresh air, but still keeping humidity up. Day 9 it gets opened again, by this time, they should have enough root to grow without the dome, but you'll be able to see which tool and which didn't. A very light tug on the stem will give you an indication whether they rooted or not. With pear pellets the roots should have penetrated the outer walls of the pellet at this point. Currently on day 6 and quite a few of my clones have already rooted, but they will only be transplanted around day 12 - 14 to make sure the transplant doesn't stress them too much Sent from my CLT-L29 using Tapatalk
  20. Warm water is 'room temp' or slightly warmer. Careful, if water is 'too warm' it may cause more harm than good. Sent from my CLT-L29 using Tapatalk
  21. I understand couriers are still operating, but not so sure if it is for all products. As for me, working from home, so minimal change except I no longer have the travelling frustration. Not sure it's going to be an easy transition back into 'the norm', it's day 6 for me... Stock levels are decent, and should survive up to a 6 week lockdown. Alcohol and cigarettes will run out soon, actually, shortly lol, so my nicotine addiction will be broken even if the lockdown is only 21 days. As good a time as any to stop I guess. 22. 420 Centennial baby.... Yes the only 420 Month per century... Everyone stocked up and ready? Sent from my CLT-L29 using Tapatalk
