Jarred the Royal Gorilla, total dry weight is 54g 🧐

The GDP weighed in at 36g. So the total grow for two plants with my wonky mainline came in at 90g :investigating

Which brings this grow to a close. My conclusion is that my yields were diminished by a poorly structured mainline that had way too many side shoots that produced pissy little airy buds that took away from the main colas. I went in mentally wanting to see what would happen if certain shoots were left to grow along with the main stems but not nearly any of them grew anything noteworthy. I have a really good idea of how I want to mainline my next plants and go back to a similar method that I incorporated in my first grow; designating and favouring the main stems and focusing energy to the main colas with a tactfully done defolation to complement.

I also experimented with heavy fluctuations in temperature between lights on and lights off during flower, which yielded in the most colour production I've seen on any of my plants so far. I do feel that I started too early with the fluctuations; essentially at flip. I think it would have been better to do it closer to the end and final week of flowering, during the ripening stage. The overall temperature of both plants during the entire flowering period was quite cold in general, averaging at about 15C I'd guess, with lows as far as 11C. Although no adverse affects were experienced health wise, I do feel it had diminished potential yields.  Tasty buds have been grown and enjoyed regardless.

Speaking of, having had some of the Gran Daddy Purple after a week of drying and a further week of curing, it is a very mellow almost meditative strain. I wouldn't suggest any thought-heavy tasks while on the GDP as the mind really wants to wonder. I would say it is very good for stress and winding down in the evenings. A bitter grapefruit aroma can be enjoyed from the grinder after crushing a little bit of the herb. It's a sneaky one too with a drawn out affect. You wonder where the high is initially and as you wonder, you keep wondering, only to realise further down the line that you are in fact quite stoned. I would definitely like to grow this strain again.

Once I have had some time with the Royal Gorilla I'll post a little short something something 8-)

Seems like something for an AfternoonBlazer 🤣

Yeah they really do, but the 2 fans I have in the box work well.

The bottom fan is intake and top one is exhaust... By the look of things and feel of the breeze it creates, it seems to be circulating the air well and the exhaust pulls the air over the lights before drawing it out.

If you held the light, you'd get burnt after like 3 or 4 seconds, but the temperature is stable... I guess that's how it's meant to work.

Again, it's only a pleasure to help.

Which Lux app is that, looks like you can change some variables or Kelvin and such?

On Migro YouTube channel, he takes a Apogee PAR meter and actually tests it side by side a different app from the store, he has the link to it and tests it at different Kelvin too for reference, and lays it on a graph, to get slightly closer to the actual PAR of your light.

    Might help...

So far excellent write up brother and await the next to come🤜🤛

    Thanks bro.

Yeah i came accross the migro video with converting lux to par. Thats how i ended up with the lux picture and the par picture.

So the top pic. Is a playstore app measuring the lux intensity at different heights from the light. ( LIGHT METER -Trajkovski labs) not adjustable

The bottom pic. Is the conversion from a website . From lux to par. At those same distances.

  5. Howzit guys

I started this adventure trying to find the cheapest and simplest way to grow some good bud.

Unfortunatly from my personal experience. There isint really a cheap way.

If you dont want to be frustrated and and have issues all the time and have a successfull grow to be proud of.

U need to spend a decent amount of cash.

    Enjoy. . .

    Germination

So i germinated 1 banana monkey seed from biltong and budz.

Thursday night(9-07-2020) 13 hours in a shot glass. Then moved to a paper towel. And a plastic bag and left in darkness near my modem for warmth.(10-07-2020) .Until a taproot was visible.

    Hey brother,

Few ways, with a home brew, with those bags you purchase, with tnb natural (mixed results) or with a co2 canister and flow meter with a PPM monitor.

Or something I'm working on with another company, soon as we get out of lockdown, so still coming and cant say yet.

    Sounds interesting bro.

R u in the gas industry?

    To explain,

You want the most stable as possible, extreme changes, more than 10 - 15deg down at night will bring on the colours, if in flowering. When in veg, you just slow down growth, unless you go below around 10deg you will get root damage.

High temps, up to 30deg are normally okay, and as mentioned before, if over 30deg, you want to up the light and co2, or it will start to burn the ends and journal on the leaf.

Just out of interest. How would u increase co2?

    Thinking of getting this

Can i then hook this up along with the heater to my temp controller and maintain a temperature between 24-29. If it hits 29, cooler will kick in, if it hits 21, heater will bring it back to 25.

Will constant temperature swings like this be an issue?

    This sounds lekker Zool

Send pics if u do go that route

Na.. don't worry.. is not really a hot mix. But a great buffer for all. Main nutes still come from BioBizz, but is a very fluffy mix. With Root Juice, they grow very fast in the first 2 weeks. I always reach 5 finger leaves end week 2.

I dont got any root juice.

    Just the bloom.

Gro and topmax comming on the 21st.

    And the Seagro

  10. Also. I know autos need to go into their final pot at the begining.

But @Fridgedoor says the FF soil that im using. Might be abit harsh for the auto seedling.

So suggested i make a small hole in my final pot and put a seed starter in there.

But i got the 2 different mediums above. Which 1 should i start with.

  11. What up guys.

    Hope everyone is well.

Im finally ready to start this grow.

    Need some germinating advise here.

Tryna get this 100 percent correct.

    Auto guys please come through.

    I know @Fridgedoor and @Prom

have great experience with autos and use the same nutez i will be using(biobizz)

So i have these 2 starters that i got from GTH.

    1. Which should i start the seed in?

    2. Should i germ with a shot glass and paper towl and then put them in the starters or put the seeds straight in?

My bad. Abit zoned. Forgot the pic
