  1. Same here brother, im still learning how to germinate. Sounds like a good experience tho
  2. We cant stress this enough. You can get a decent QB for around 3k but i feel that sooner or later you going to want to upgrade your lights with more power so I would look at the lights from the 5 - 12 K range. But it all depends on your budget and the nice thing is you can always add more to your grow, i wouldnt get anything less than 200W tho
  3. I would recommend to wash & buffer your coco regardless if you purchased a "washed and buffered" coco. As @PsyCLownmentioned wouldn't flush with plain water, a very low nute dosage probably a quarter of the recommended dosage will get you around 200 - 250 ppm if using RO water, that will do the trick.
  4. Hey @PsyCLownhope you well. So for the organics I'm mainly using RO water in a 50L flexi tank. Once a week I ll turn the system off and let the plants drink whatever water is in the tray for a day I will than top feed them with some dirty hands bio boost and bio nitro, with Silica dosage also once a week and separate day from the Bio boost & Nitro. I'm not sure how the silica will mix with the bio boost and bio nitro so I decided to do it on a separate day. Will ammend again before the flip and continue using RO water in the res for organics For synthetics im using silica, umyas cal mag, and the NutriGold range (Previously Known as Nutriplex) changing the res once a week
  5. It's time for a new journey & a new diary, & let me be completely honest I was going to do this diary once I had reached harvest with pics and video and skip the all boring veg phase, but I soon found myself with a lot more work and a lot more content than Id like so I thought let me start this diary and update it on a monthly bases. OK so what are we doing this time? SETUP: We doing 15L & 20L autopots A side by side of organic and synthetic Organics are setup using 12mm lead piping and valve 5s Syntheic is setup using 6mm lead pipe with standard valves MEDIUM: For synthetics we going with perlite & coco (washed and buffered a week before potting) For organics going with coco & perlite ammended with malted barley, kelp meal, guano, frass, dolomite, biochar, aloe, alfalfa & Bokashi STRAINS: The strains will be Super Silver, K-2, Zkittlez & original glue by @Marijuana Seeds SA & Nirvana LIGHTS: This time we pulling out the Mars Hydro SP 3000 from the start with the help from the Leon 200, that's more than enough power in the hood for this grow I started off germination with some water in a cup and after 2 days potted in coco on a heat mat for 2 weeks in the dome with very light feed every 4 days 5 days later... All but 2 didn't sprout. Well.. One was very late to the party the other one never showed face so I decide to pop anther zkittlez seed At the end of 2 weeks they were ready to be trasplanted into their final pots Right side synthetics. Left side organics. At this point I had to top feed for at least 2 weeks before the roots were established in the Autopot system After 2 weeks of top feeding its was finally time to turn on the systems Some nice socks for the ladies.. Looks more like a water tube.. (well they are going for a swim after all) Zkittlez & Original Glue first week of veg
  6. Foliar Spray a few times and you ll be good
  7. LOL you and my friends would get along very well i have heard it all bru. I do have a bottle of both ph-up and down but only because im using RES now and i have no choice but to use it to keep the ph longer in the RES. But for normal top feeding, I will still argue to use lemon juice
  8. You can go out and spend some cash on some good products that do work. But you can also use the cheaper alternative such as Milk thats also works. Alot of us growers make a big issue of something that can easily be fixed with some home remedies. Anther good example is the PH down and ph up solution that i get into fights about with my friends all the time, i use lemon juice...gets my ph where it needs to be and my flowers still come out looking great and I save some cash for things that are a MUST get for my grows
  9. Kevin William Simpson, CEO and Founder of OilsBySimpson, tells us about the growing evidence around cannabis as a treatment for COVID-19 Cannabis’s therapeutic effects have long been known, with cannabinoids like THC and CBD commonly used to treat various symptoms. But what effect does cannabis have on COVID-19? Cannabis has evolved from that substance your parents warned you about that only hippies used. As research into cannabis’s therapeutic properties has developed, so has the mainstream use of cannabis products. Cannabinoids like CBD and THC are prevalent because of their extensive therapeutic benefits and ease of use. With health benefits, including pain relief, improved anxiety, and reduced inflammation, it’s no wonder why cannabis products have soared in popularity. Cannabis and COVID: Can it help? With its impressive healing potential, you may be wondering if cannabis might be able to help fight the illness currently affecting the whole world – COVID-19. COVID-19 has resulted in millions of deaths, closed international borders, and caused economies to be on the brink of collapse. This contagious respiratory disease can leave you with a fever, feeling fatigued, and struggling to breathe. It can even be fatal. So can cannabis offer any help in the fight against COVID-19? A recent study published in January of this year in the journal Aging has found that cannabis may offer some help for patients with COVID-19. Cannabis and the cytokine storm One of the primary biological events that occur in patients with severe acute respiratory distress cases from COVID-19 is something called a “cytokine storm.” A cytokine storm is where the body experiences an extreme increase in proinflammatory cytokines. These cytokines are a category of proteins, and the cytokines involved in a cytokine storm lead to an increase in inflammation. COVID-19 patients often suffer from lung fibrosis, a serious and untreatable condition that leaves lung tissue scarred and makes it more difficult for you to breathe. If a substance could stop the cytokine storm, it would be able to suppress inflammation, prevent lung fibrosis, and put COVID-19 patients in remission. C.Sativa, a type of cannabis, was found in a cytokine storm study to reduce multiple cytokines and pathways related to inflammation and fibrosis. Two of the cytokines that C.Sativa reduced were TNFa and IL-6, which are thought to be the main targets when trying to block a COVID-19 cytokine storm and acute respiratory distress syndrome. Multiple studies support cannabis and its cytokine storm fighting properties The Aging study isn’t the only piece of research that has concluded that cannabis shows an ability to block a cytokine storm in COVID-19 patients. A 2020 mouse-model study found that CBD, an active cannabinoid compound found in cannabis, reduced proinflammatory cytokines and improved the clinical symptoms of mice with symptoms similar to COVID-19. The study suggests that CBD may work as part of the treatment of COVID-19 by reducing the cytokine storm and protecting lung tissue from inflammation. How else could cannabis treat COVID-19? Cannabis shows strong potential in reducing inflammation and scarring in patients with COVID-19, but how else could cannabis help patients with COVID-19? Compounds in cannabis like CBD and THC have also shown promise in a range of other areas, including pain relief and treating anxiety. While these therapeutic benefits have not been investigated in patients with COVID-19, they could offer exciting areas of future study. Pain relief With symptoms of COVID-19, including body aches, sore throat, and headaches, pain relief would be welcome by many patients. Cannabis has shown significant potential as a pain reliever, particularly from its ability to increase serotonin’s effects, a neurotransmitter that can induce pain relief Anxiety Finding out you have COVID-19 can be a stressful time for patients. Because of its highly infectious nature, patients are isolated from friends and family. The serious and scary nature of the illness can also take a serious toll on your mental health. Compounds within cannabis have shown impressive anxiety-reducing qualities, particularly CBD. CBD is a cannabinoid compound that could help to reduce the symptoms of stress and anxiety. CBD can increase serotonin activity and lower cortisol levels. Reducing these chemicals is essential for anxiety management as serotonin reduces anxiety, and cortisol is a stress hormone often found in higher levels in patients with anxiety and depression. In a 2019 double-blind placebo trial, CBD was also found to reduce anxiety in teenagers with social anxiety disorder. Is inhaling cannabis smoke a good idea for COVID-19 patients? While consuming cannabis is most commonly done by inhaling the smoke of cannabis flower, that is not the only way cannabis’s therapeutic compounds can be consumed. Most research involving cannabis uses oil extracts, like CBD oil. Cannabis oil can be consumed through ingestion, vaping, nasal sprays, or topical application. Many delivery mechanisms don’t involve the lungs and leave out potentially harmful substances that come with smoke inhalation. Final thoughts Cannabis has shown a lot of potential in fighting against COVID-19, thanks largely to its anti-inflammatory properties. The recent study published in Aging shows that cannabis could significantly improve the condition of COVID-19 patients by reducing a cytokine storm and protecting lung tissue from inflammatory damage. Research also shows that cannabis and its compounds hold other significant therapeutic properties, including pain relief and anxiety reduction. While these could offer relief to COVID-19 patients, research is needed into the pain-relieving and anxiety-reducing properties of cannabis on COVID-19 patients specifically before any conclusions could be drawn. Although this recent research is exciting and shows the potential power of cannabis in the fight against COVID-19, always follow your doctor’s advice when managing COVID-19. 10. Welcome bro all the best. Defiantly in the right place to take your skills to the next level
  11. I know we have already covered this but i wanted to create a poll on which of the products listed do you guys prefer, let us know why aswel and maybe help someone whos trying organic decide on which product to buy. Not too long ago I got my hands on a product called "Great White". I saw good results but honestly speaking I have seen similar if not the better results with some of the products listed on the poll. Which brings me to question the hype around some products. "Great White" is a great product dont get me wrong but I think some of the products we already have in SA are superior. They just lack the hype that some of these over seas products get
  12. Welcome home @Mitsu cant wait to see your grows & you wont go wrong with the QBs
  13. I'm a coco guy myself but when it comes to soil I truely believe in mixing your own soil, I know the guys here like FF and I don't have anything against it or any other soil brand for that matter but I have gotten more consistency out of my own soil mix than some of the brands out there, just anther option to look at if you want to save some cash
