  1. Hi folks.

Almost done with week 4 of flower and the ladies are starting to stink the place up. Absolutely beautiful smells coming through.

The Jelly Breath is probably one of my favourite plants I have ever grown and smoked. She is real top heavy so I staked her for extra support.

I didn't get a good top shot of the SSH 98 but she is going strong.

@Naughty.Psychonaut Nobody wants to grow landraces. Us humans have been trying to grow better plants (not just cannabis) for a looong time now and we have managed to get it right multiple times and have ended up with "improved" crops of all sorts over the years.

Bigger fruit, better fruit, more enjoyable etc. etc.

Selective breeding has been going on for a loooong time, it also takes a long time to get a crop to where you'd like it to be.

I do not understand the infatuation some people have with landrace cannabis strains...

    Fully agree with you.

I think it might be more due to the allure of the plant in its original form, untouched by humans, that drives the hunt for landrace species.

It's like someone harping on about the good old days. Fair enough that might not be the quality that you would like to smoke or use but to see a plant as close as possible to its original unaltered state must be something special to behold.

For me I wouldn't want to grow or smoke it but would love to walk in a field of cannabis that is relatively untouched by hybridisation or external influence. It's like botanical archeology 😂

Me too. Very thinly shaped sativa like leaves and stacking quite tightly.  She will probably be the last to finish up but hopefully with that extra time create some fat ass nugs :-greenthumb

  4. Hi folks,

So I am currently 3 weeks and 2 days into flower and shit is starting to take off.

I did a massive last clean up and stripping of the stems to try and make sure I don't have any fluff and enough airflow/light penetration. I couldn't really go all out on the Jelly Breath as she just looks too beautiful and all the bud sites are sizeable enough for me to leave them on and see how they develop.

In terms of early tricome development we definitely have a winner. The OSG Cheese is unreal 😬 she reminds me of the Oni Uppercut that I grew and she was frosty AF. I am very happy we kept a cutting of her and can't wait to start smelling the OG Exo Cheese terpenes.

The White Bubblegum is also showing some nice early tricome development and she has a very distinct strawberry gum smell to her.

The clean up might look a little bit excessive but I feel confident this was what was needed.

    So here we go folks!

I really like the structure of the Blunicorn and SSH.

Yeah the SS Haze has some amazingly big fan leaves and likes to pray, she is an 11 to 13 weeker if I'm correct?

Blunicorn surprised me with the tight stacking of nodes and also had to clean her up quite good following some advice from @PsyCLown I also think the Blunicorn will love a SCROG net..

This run has me very excited and happy to grow again. It just goes to show... if you fuck up on a grow, fix it, learn from your mistakes and move on.

  8. Morning folks.

Just passed the second week of flower and all seems to be going pretty well. I am seeing pistils all over the place and the mains are starting to take some decent shape.

On the stretching side the OSG Cheese really bulked up and got some height but that doesn't come close to the Jelly Breath... that lady just doesn't stop stretching 😆

They got their first feed of Bloom yesterday and it looks like the nute balance is on point at the moment, will just keep a close eye on leaf colouration.

Another plant that is impressing me quite a bit is the Purple Dosidos. She's got some bulk and I feel like I might see some dense big nugs come from her.

    Here are some pics...

    Hey guys,

It has been awhile so I hope everyone is doing well.

Im on the hunt for some clones and I'm having no luck with suppliers. Cannaclone and Clonemart are the only suppliers I know but I can't seem to get a response out of them after 2 weeks of trying.

Can somebody please point me in the right direction (bonus points if it's KZN), or if any members have some clones they would like to pass on, I have some Violator Kush seeds from BarneysFarm that I would happily trade.

Really itching to get growing again.

Welcome back bro. Biltong and Budz also currently have some clones in stock and it seems like they ship. Not too expensive per clone as well.

  10. Hi folks.

So I am just past the first week of flower and did a major deforestation on the plants 😆

I cleaned up and opened the canopy and also stripped the stems of the bottom half nodes to work on the lollipop effect and to negate any poofy fluff.

It might look a bit rough but I am sure the ladies will recover nicely and start creating those snazzy budsites. The Jelly Breath is one heck of a stretcher so had to rearrange the pot placement to accommodate her vigour. I also cleaned up the Blunicorn real nicely, thanx for the guidance @PsyCLown

I will keep an eye on the ladies to maybe clean up a couple of spots I might have missed during the next 2 weeks. Otherwise super stoked and happy with the health of the plants.

Here are some before and after pics. I forgot to take a before pic of the cheese and its one of my favourite plants :fishslap

Hey, sorry yes, unreleased. The first episode should be released sometime December, and there will be 3 episodes in total. We watched 1st episode on Sunday in a barn, on a broken projector, bad sound, with about 10 or so stoners. Grungy. Funny enough, this morning my farm is like a strain hunters HQ, we going through amazing Congo footage at the moment. Making movies.

Please share that footage once done good sir. I love a good strain hunt and the exploration of cannabis through different geographical areas

I'm very excited to see what you pull out of the hat. Nice work so far bud.

I usually remove all branches from the bottom half of my plants, but I grow big plants. I'm not sure how safe it would be to remove 50% plant material from smaller plants. Still... lollipopping is a great way to ensure nice big buds with minimal popcorn. I don't think it increases yield, but it definitely increases usable yield.

    Good luck brother!

100% with you on that notion man. I will probably aim for like bottom 30 to 40% to be cleaned up to try and get those nice lollipops. I have to be honest these OSG strains are really impressive hardy plants. Took to training like champs and also solid growth rate.

I am now just waiting for your black Friday run then I will add a couple more strains to the collection 😆

    @John Stonedwell Looking good!

Based on my experiences, I would say try keep the Jelly Breath colas as even and flat as possible to maximize yield. It is easy for one cola to get ahead and then with the stretch it leaves all the other behind. Try as much as possible to keep the plant compact and canopy flat with training during the stretch. Also try stake it - good to do this end of week 2 to week 3.

For the Blunicorn get rid of any of the lower branches / suckers as which are not at the top of the canopy and clean up the plant nicely at the bottom to prevent an excess of small buds.

    My man.

Thank you very much for the guidance! As always much appreciated :-respect

I will definitely apply those techniques to ensure a proper harvest, I was a bit gentle with the clean up on the Blunicorn to be honest. So she will definitely get a nice shave.

The Jelly Breath is a lanky ass plant. I haven't had one plant before that had such crazy internodal spacing.

I also picked up that the Blunicorn is rather sensitive to overwatering? Not necessarily the frequency but the volume per watering... Did you pick up the same?

  15. Hi folks.

So it is that very exciting time for me... the flip to flower :-trip

I am not looking for monster plants but plants that will range from between 60cm to 80cm, from the stem base to highest top, in final height. Also less jungle more airflow 😂

This will be more than enough for me to smoke and a focus on nice big nugs with limited popcorn.

Over the weekend I did the final clean up for the veg stage and happy with all the nodes staring at the lights. I will probably clean up once or twice in the early stages of flower.

So tonight the timer will go to 12/12 and the real fun starts 😆

LEAF-final.thumb.gif.61c06e1c9e961d028011c41e5ccfc8ae.gifBy working around their existing PCB electrical layout, I managed to create a design that spreads the light out far more evenly to the edges (reduced centre hotspot, and can be hung lower, minimising reflective losses).

Final LED count up from 528 to 536pcs. New, more robust hinges and end caps. Driver can be mounted on the bars, or outside the tent with included extension cord. The rotating aluminium feet on the driver also help sink heat, and provide a stable, elevated mount for the top of the tent, or easy mounting on the wall.

    Day 32 of 12/12

    This is pheno no.9

I asked the tester to keep a close eye on this one, as I think she has what it takes to be the chosen one.

She stands 1.7m tall and is very pineapple smelling.
