  1. Eventually. I've got 2 x 1m 15w/24v led strips that are 4000k that I'm thinking of using. Thinking a PSU is cheaper at the moment. Just not sure if I should add it to the veg or flower cabinet. Still saving up for the next QB75 though. Thanks to@growopz for getting me hooked. And the advice from all you Bud's. Sent from my DRA-LX5 using Tapatalk
  2. I found one for photography that has a white balance option that works within reason. Called, wait for it, Light Meter by WBphoto. Sent from my DRA-LX5 using Tapatalk
  3. Thanks@TheUltimateNoob. Yeah, I was planning on wiring directly to the power supply but thinking rather than overloading save up for another unit. Patience hombre, patience. Sent from my DRA-LX5 using Tapatalk
  4. Week 12. Everything seems to have settled in the grow now and the plants have started to flower. I've still been taking the plants outside every day to get some sunshine. The bottom leaves still seem to be drying out and I'm in the process of elimination stage. My water pH is 6.5 and the landlady is gonna send a sample to be checked to see if it's heavy or lacking minerals. I won't be adding nutrition as I live in the bush and only get into town once a month if I'm lucky, so no buying stuff. And then I'm gonna leave the plants in the cabinet for a week to see if there's an improvement, I'm thinking outside conditions here is a bit harsh. Usually 10 degrees hotter or colder than Vape Town with either cold winds or on the other end hot and dry winds. I was considering adding some more light but that is also on hold till the next grow and until I've saved up for another power supply, learnt a lot about power supplies yesterday and don't want to overload the one I have at the moment. Okay, baby awake and nappy change time, till next week, over and out.
  5. Shout out to all the electronic peeps out there. I have a mean well NES-100-24 power supply with a @growopz QB75 half 3000k half 4000k running off it for flowering. I have 2x1m led strips that are 15w/m, 24v, 4000k that I was thinking of adding to the power supply in order to give me more area coverage. The million dollar question is: am I gonna blow all my shit up? If I can (not blow my shit up but add the lights) that means I can add another 300mm depth to my cabinet. That means 2000 bucks saved and a better light. Give me good news please bud's.
  6. Hey Bud, thanks. I downloaded the app when everyone was raving about it the first time you posted it. I just don't know what units to use to calibrate the 3000k, 6000k and 9000k colour calibration as I get a N/A reading. Sent from my DRA-LX5 using Tapatalk
  7. Hey there @afternoon blazer. How did you set the light color on the light meter app? I'm a bit doff when it comes to shite like that. I have an LED strip that I was told is possibly 4000k and would like to check. Please buddy.
  8. Growth spurt buddy, thinking I gonna have to make a bigger cabinet.
  9. Hey bud's. I've been reading into it a bit more and keep coming up with light burn or potassium deficiency. My plants started flowering and not sure if it's wise to repot at this stage. Anyone have 2 cents on this? Sent from my DRA-LX5 using Tapatalk
  10. Yeah the lower leaves. That's where the 9w 6000k led tube light was. Have since removed the light. Sent from my DRA-LX5 using Tapatalk
  11. Morning@StickyD420. I don't think it's root bound. After my rabbits finished chowing the male's I wanted to see what the roots looked like and they still had room to grow. Am I wrong in cutting off the leaves that are super bad as they will be sucking up light that could be used on healthier leaves. Sent from my DRA-LX5 using Tapatalk
  12. Hey there@Nibiru. Exciting times. Advice from one new upgrader to another. I have recently moved from 200w cfl's to 75w led or at least I think it's 75w (@growopz QB75). Anyway do your homework on distance from canopy. I think I burnt my plants from hanging the light to close. I'm hoping it's light burn though and not some sort of deficiency, easier to rectify. I won't give a distance as I am still trying to find the sweet spot by asking the bud's on the forum and researching. Sent from my DRA-LX5 using Tapatalk
  13. Hey there bud. I should have asked first but obviously didn't. The first 2 day's I had it at 300mm when I noticed not all was well with the plants. The light is now 400mm above the tallest plant. The plants are more or less the same height. I leave the cabinet open during the day as I have not managed to get a fan in there yet due to budget constraints. So yeah, not much circulation during the dark period. My bad. 14. Week 11. Ok, so my plants have been under the new light for a few days now and guess what? LIGHT BURN. Not only that but I realized that the LED tube light on the back wall is 6000k which I don't think is best for flowering so I removed it. I'm down to 10 plants now and decided to give another 2 to the rabbits as they were looking like males and didn't want to take any chances. So there are 8 left, still to many for the light but I'm gonna chance it. Still loading the plants onto the trolley and moving them into mother nature's light every day. My landlady seems to be just as interested on the progress as I am as she pop's around every day to have a Butcher's Hook (look) so I guess that's a green light. Time to set up the veg box. I have 200w of cfl's and playing around with the setup. Then I still have those under counter led strips and trying to get the specs from the manufacturer. If they are usable I'll rig the 2 of them and the 9w 6000k tube up and use that instead. Think I'll stick to 4 plants per cabinet from now on though. All in all I'm still pretty chuffed with the grow so far. You not gonna believe this bud's but I'm having trouble uploading pics again so I'll put them on in a short while. And that's the grow up to date. Not to worry though, there's still about 6 or 7 week's left till harvest and I'll definitely keep you peeps posted.
  15. Thanks man. I did exactly that and fed them to the rabbits. I caught a few of the male's early on but then another 2 snuck up on me and hopefully I removed them in time. Concerning the seeds, if they were what I was told, a friend who gave them to me said they are Jack Berry. I'm using the seeds from my 2nd outdoor grow so they obviously have been contaminated. Am I correct in this assumption. Sent from my DRA-LX5 using Tapatalk
  16. Thanks for all the help guiding me through and advising on lights Bud's. You know what it's like, not having a clue on what you looking for and then buying something and wondering if you made the right choice. Judging from all the thumbs up I'm feeling whoop whoop about the light. Sent from my DRA-LX5 using Tapatalk
  17. Hey Buds. Quick question. If it says 8-9 weeks to flower, is that from seedling or from when you flip to 12/12. Sent from my DRA-LX5 using Tapatalk
  18. Stay away from pig manure buddy. There's a reason a lot of vegetable farmers don't use it. It carries parasites such as Roundworm, has a low nitrogen level. As a rule with manure, no human, dog, cat or any thing that eats meat and shit. Sent from my DRA-LX5 using Tapatalk
  19. Week 10. Ok, so I have my new light QB75 from @growopz. Can someone please tell me the difference between a quantum bar and a quantum board. I've hung the light and mounted a 9w led tube on the back wall. I was considering chucking in a few of the cfl's but managed to stop myself. Slow down hombre. I know I have to many plants for the light I have and am silently hoping for a few more male's. Everything looks good from the top but still a bit thin on the bottom. Apparently Jack Berry does not have an abundance of leaves, only where the bud's form, but I'll read up more on that. Gotta get that veg cabinet up now.
  20. Week 9. Week 11 will be the present. Okay, everything still looking good but it's like watching paint dry. The plants are finally saying hoesit, I'm a male, get me out of here. At this stage the rabbits each get a plant to munch on and I get more space in the cabinet. By week 11 I have 8 plants from 15 that are female. I'm happy and my wife is harassing me to start the next grow. Welcome back load shedding. Never thought I'd use my 2000kv riot control tazer to grow ganja, man but does it have a powerful light. Whoa, stop the train. I've picked my light up from @growopz. Out come the cfl's and in go the led. Can I go play with the big boys ma?
  21. Hey there @afternoon blazer. Tea time is when it warms up where I am, usually misty and a chill in the air until then. They on 12/12 now. I'll be continuing the CRAZY later this evening once the baba is fed and put to bed. Stay tuned in. Sent from my DRA-LX5 using Tapatalk
  22. I've picked up a bad habit from my succulent growing. I tend to agitate the top of the soil (2-3mm) for moisture reasons. Anyway, I do this with my plants a day after watering firstly for looks. I like the look of freshly turned soil. Secondly, the process exposes eggs and larvae to the lights and elements and kills them. I've been doing this for years with succulents, maybe that's why I don't seem to have gnat problems. Or is my grow environment incorrect that I don't attract them. Just a thought to throw out there. Sent from my DRA-LX5 using Tapatalk
