  1. Hey bud. They seem to be ok. I have stopped taking them on the daily outing to the sun rays just in case it was the breeze or temperature difference. I also have a led tube light that may have been burning them so that has also been raised a bit.
  2. Now my buddy has found this in the garage. Is this an HPS that I keep on been told about? Sent from my DRA-LX5 using Tapatalk
  3. Thanks bud. Yeah, I have a Mean Well Nes-100-24 power supply ( not the greatest ) which I was thinking is a savings on the budget. Growopz is checking stock on led bars then hello diy central. I want to get next set up done as good as possible so you Peep's on the forum are gonna get a whole lot more questions. Always appreciate people sharing advice. A rare thing now days. 4. Thanks. No wonder my buddy has them lying around gathering dust. Chatting to growopz and he is advising on diy led on a small budget. Sent from my DRA-LX5 using Tapatalk
  5. Hi all. I was wondering if I could use these lights for the flowering stage as I am using cfl's at the moment. Halopar Par30 100w 3100k And Power star HQI-BT 400w/D 5500k Sent from my DRA-LX5 using Tapatalk
  6. I've probably got the happiest rabbits in Cape Town. The critters are continually trying to get into my garage/grow room.
  7. Yeah, wasn't gonna chance it. Already given the plant to the pet rabbits. Sent from my DRA-LX5 using Tapatalk
  8. Should I consider that. The seeds I was originally given were meant to be feminized Jack Berry which I've grown outdoors the last 2 seasons. This lot come from the few seeds I got from the last grow. Sent from my DRA-LX5 using Tapatalk
  9. Morning Bud's. My 1 out of 15 plants turned out male. I have been keeping an close eye on the plants and noticed the balls yesterday. The rest are looking like they could all be female. [emoji16] Now the question is, how will I be able to tell the difference once the pollen bag has popped? I don't know whether to cry or jump with joy because I definitely need to upgrade to LED's now. Sent from my DRA-LX5 using Tapatalk
  10. I agree. I have been reading up soils and an additive will help speed up the process. I kinda like these discussions as once again all good info to keep growing well.

  12. Ok, I'm back. No, cinnamon will not nullify the mycoroot. Mycorrhizae fungi is found in most soils but sometimes need help finding the roots, that when you can help with mycoroot. Did a quick search and not only was the landlady correct but found that cinnamon is also a pretty good alternative to rooting hormone. As to do with gnats, cinnamon kills the fungi that attracts them and sprinkled on top of the soil acts as a deterrent. Man. Feels like I'm back at school. Learnt a bit today. 13. Easy there on the technical stuff, I'm new to indoor game remember. On the serious side, I asked the landlady and she got even more technical than you. The soil I get from them is a recipe they came up with over years for their propagation operation and works well with their fynbos. Not exactly an answer but I'll ask again for a layman's explanation.
  14. Cinnamon ( the powder ) acts as a natural fungicide, a little bit of not so useless information I found out the other day. The only time I've seen gnat's is on Google. Sent from my DRA-LX5 using Tapatalk
  15. Hey bud. This is more of a question to others reading this, I'm new myself. While researching my curly and brown leaves I read that bark is a no no as it releases nitrogen or something. And is that a leca pebble I see. Leca in soil will retain moister, that much I know as I use it occasionally at my nursery. I may be totally wrong. Sent from my DRA-LX5 using Tapatalk
  16. Sounds promising. Holding thumbs they all female.
  17. Using the soil mix from the fynbos propagation farm we rent land from, not sure of the ratio of [emoji90]. The manure is fresh from the stable but composted for 3 months with organic cuttings. Sent from my DRA-LX5 using Tapatalk
  18. Hope it is just stress, was super carefully. Waiting to see what sex and how many females out of the 15.
  19. Could it be shock from transplanting which I did 10 days ago. The soil has been the same mixture from when I popped the seeds into seedling trays through veg and only now this is happening.
  20. Thanks buds. It's meant to be Jack Berry?? ( Seeds from a buddy ). I have grown twice outside and the plants were awesome and had the dark green leaves then. This batch was grown from the few seeds off the last plant. The soil I'm using is a mix of: Coarse sand Coir Those small slow release fertilizer balls Vermiculite Cinnamon Compost ( horse, cow and chicken shit, ash and fynbos cuttings ). I have been putting them in the sun rays when it's warm enough and now that you mention it a breeze does blow over them now and again. I don't use extra nutrients and using a gazillion cfl's in grow cabinet's. And I talk to them a lot!! Sent from my DRA-LX5 using Tapatalk
  21. Afternoon all. Any ideas what's going on here. I have 15 plants in the same soil but these 3 are developing a problem of sorts. The plants are also taller than the others. Cheers buds, thanks in advance. Sent from my DRA-LX5 using Tapatalk
  22. Thanks, I'll check them out. What's your take on those full spectrum 50w cob's? Sent from my DRA-LX5 using Tapatalk
  23. Hey there all. I have this power supply and thinking about wiring up some led strips to it then adding on when the budget improves. This is my step out of cfl's and into the next phase. Are there strips for the entire grow cycle and would I be able to get it over the counter in Cape Town? Sent from my DRA-LX5 using Tapatalk
  24. Ok, I totally FCUK'd that one up. Freight Innovations is the courier company you looking for. Sent from my DRA-LX5 using Tapatalk
  25. Now my wife says Target Couriers. Let me check in the morning and get back to you. Sent from my DRA-LX5 using Tapatalk
