    Hi everyone,

I’m a complete novice and a friend and I are going to attempt to grow some autos outdoors, most likely on my flat garage roof in pretty much full sun. I aim to put them up there from say week 3 onward when the plants are a little bit stronger and after some initial training to minimise any chance of breakage in the wind.

All the seeds were obtained from Nirvanashop and are the following strains: 1x Blue Cheese, 1x Northern Lights, 1x Blue Mystic, 1x Blueberry Kush.

My understanding is that it isn’t ideal to grow at this time of year, but should be possible given their genetic resilience to colder weather. Also, after much research I’ve compiled what I consider to be a reasonably good shopping list with all the bits I will likely need, which is as follows:

Garden wire for training, microscope for trichome evaluation (most likely the kind that clips onto an iPhone), 4x 10-15l Material Pots, set of pruning shear for some light defoliation at the flowering stage, 2x bags Organisoilux (60l, so enough for all 4 plants), clay pebbles for added drainage, PH meter, PH correction liquid, Cannabiz Liquicompost for growth and Cannabiz Biophos Repro for flowering (a grower friend reccommended this to me).

Am I insane or do I have a chance of succeeding? What hurdles am I likely to encounter? As a first time grower I’m going to try and keep it simple and don’t want to micro manage every part of the grow, but I would like to at least give these plants a fighting chance. I am not interested in super high yields as I smoke very little, but I am interested in healthy plants that yield good quality buds.

Any advice welcome, please be gentle!

    Thanks,

    D

Goodluck! All should work well, give it a go, dig into the threads for information, and good ol Google for any need to knows

post some pics and we can also give some pointers where possible.

first you want to soak some seeds, or sow straight, I recommend soaking for 12 hours in plain water that’s been sitting for atleast a day. Then prep the soil, water it with about 5 - 10%, should get you through to past seedling stage, quite easily, orgasoil lux will most likely need to be watered thoroughly, go on the 15 - 20 percent actually; let it sit for a week in some sun. Maybe plant some companion plants, then plant a week - week and half later, will make for a better environment for the autos.

then don’t feed that soil for a good 4-5 weeks

    plant with mycorrhizal fungi 👍🏻

  2. Awehhh gardeners of the future!

We still outdoors and have just cut down small baby plants, not a good reflection of these genetics but now running these cuts about revegged. Let’s see if they are anything to go by, at the moment I’m neither here nor there about them, but still got seeds, let’s see how go on a proper run.

The big tent is geared and ready to go 👀

Eight ZxP at the beginning of their veg journey. I want the plants to get settled for a few days after transplant before I begin training.

This run will potentially be how I might continue to grow concurrently and a method I will try to perfect as I also try to perfect my selected strains harvest after harvest. If anything in future, I see myself upgrading the LEDs at a time that this current set have run their course and the next generation finds itself on our shelves, whenever that may be.

The plan will be to top all the plants and again run a manifold grow style similar to that of the Organic Tent™. I am hoping that the Autopots and airdomes will provide vigorous growth during veg and make the training less time consuming. I will use two layers of nets this time, the first layer to help spread the initial manifold growth and then another layer to keep the colas evenly spread at the canopy level.

A single layer net in the Organic Tent™ was only just enough but the canopy size is not too deep, so the branches managed to hold up relatively well on their own. I would like to get slightly bigger plants going in the big tent so the additional net layer will be a must.

Now that is a good size, you should be ready to flip within a month.😬

  4. Another half ass update, it’s just so wet outside, all day long so I really am quite done with these plants lol but here goes

Some of the plants are close to done, other are really taking long, so I may harvest what I can this weekend or next and update on the bud I get out, just to note the experiment plant of the gorilla glue, is in limbo land and I’m sure she will stay like that for a good forever, so I’m also just gona composting her, unfortunate but ya, the 2 sugar widows coming out nicely B0844D59-DB9A-4E48-8B52-5E73A009C75F.thumb.jpeg.4cd40fb72a24480f964b0465ad1541d0.jpeg

Yo this winter humidity sucks! It's got me on high alert. Doing a lot of inspecting and preventative snipping.

Ya but you might want to consider a trelles net, those branches won't hold them selves up for much longer.

It's a bitter sweet ending, and standing at that cross roads having to decide which direction is going to best serve the next decade of my life...
Totemic was really never meant to become a brand, but kind of gravitated that way.

It's always been about actively opposing those laws that would criminalize me for growing, breeding, and sharing that with the community.

My genetics is out there in practically every corner of the country, serving their purpose beautifully, and will echo in other strains they inspire.

It really has been an awesome journey, and while I move onto other things, I'll always be growing.

All the best bru, lucky we all know you personally and will surely still be able to get some of those awesome genetics, what ever the future holds, it must include your strains I hope!

this doesn’t necessary mean you are stopping what you are doing with breeding? If you are closing the store.l? I dono, I’m making assumptions.

Reading my mind! Up until now I was doing a staggered perpetual and doing 6 plants at a time, 18 total at different stages of flower in the flower tent but now that I have finally got the tent empty I want to grow all the plants at the same phase. This will allow me to have some time in veg stage instead of being forced to flower immediately upon entry into flower tent.

The other adjustment I am using is to do fewer plants. I am going to replicate what's going on in the Organic Tent™ and do 4 plants per 1.2m² instead of 9. This will be due to the extra veg time, the plants will each get much bigger so having some extra space would be great. I would also like to do a similar training style with the manifold to increase the per plant average. I think ironically the overall yield by doing the above will perform much better than more plants growing el natural

Great stuff man! Yea that should be super successful. You can be prepared for a bit longer veg time with 4 plants. but should be quick fast with the auto pots. I find the best way to train them lekke is with a Scrog fence like how that Mr OG @GGG used to smash it.

Nice man, will keep an eye out for this.

  9. Here's a thought, because you actually have a perpetual grow going. And a nice mother tent. If I recall correctly you are vegging in the mother tent and then pushing them into the flower tent to do their thing.

This is just an suggestion if you possibly have thought about it before. It could be quite beneficial.

Let all your plants that you currently have flowering finish, and while you are waiting, prepare 18 clones, to go in there all at once, then give them a decent veg time, this will also reduce the stress factor of a new environment and photoperiod switch, which in my experience has always hindered the stretch phase.

Its a pretty time efficient option I think, A, because you using the auto pots and B, you have the space to get them to a more than decent size before the final transplant.

Not that you aren't having success already, the buds say it all 😉 Just want to clarify, you know this forum and its feelings.

Ya anyway for what its worth, just thought id offer my opinion.

I have just weighed the recent harvest of the 5x ZxP plants. The total for this was 188g. Better yield than the KmintZ even though it was a whole one plant less, which is cool. The bud is looking pretty quality too so I am satisfied. I do want to start bumping these per plant harvests up though.

So you averaging 37g per plant in that setting. Its not too bad as you style is basically SOG? So more consecutive harvests right?

Yet again, cops can't do shit themselves. Always keep your nose clean and don't draw attention to your neighbors. The proverb of "don't shit where you eat" comes to mind.

Use carbon filters if you are gonna have a mad grow! 😝

Although the smell of cannabis is not enough to let police into your private area. You are allowed to consume cannabis in your private space so the victim didn't actually have to let the police in. Although, his actions of working with the police officers will probably help him in the long run, depending what he was saying during the initial inspection of his property.

See these canisters? The above quote makes me think these are large bottles of butane. Alternatively it could be CO2.

Either way, CO2 or butane, having those sized bottles in a confined space like this is a super no-no. Just this alone could get somebody into trouble and is actually quite frankly the only good part about this story. This dude was a mad lad having those bottles in a frickin bathroom 😆

Ya that doesn't look great, all I read was 10 x 20l containers with weed in them, that's definitely a large amount

I'm interested! What is the quickest yall have every flipped a plant, I've heard of 12/12 from seed, 2 week from seed? I'm contemplating on flipping sooner on a higher plant count, what has your experiences been, do you prefer a shorter or a longer veg? Or would you say it's strain depended

Sent from my SM-A528B using Tapatalk

You can keep a plant on 12/12 from seed until it starts flowering. But I highly doubt that will be 2 week in total. The seedling have not reached sexual maturity yet in my experience.

They will start to flower once they are past the seedling stage, depending on your environment and the circumstance, it will start flowering from 3/4 weeks after germ.

This is supposed to be more than my current flower tents output, at 600w in a 2.4x1.2 tent, and feel if I replace half my lights, in the middle, with the Lumii 720w, and still have the outside 300w, I will be happy enough.

Will post pictures and video of unboxing when I get it😝

  15. Hello 420sa members, Sunday is always a good day for a small bit of gardening, my garden is a wreck at the moment, but we are still kicking, some updates on the plants, I think they are flowering better here, let’s see how it goes.

the experiment plant of the Gg#4 clone is setting up for its second flower and I couldn’t leave it in its 10l pot as I would certainly run into issues, so I gave her the 40l of used soil well depleted, and will still be feeding, now more aggressively, they both will it 1ml p/L today.
Gg#4 experiment plant, then cut off all the lady bits and topped her so let’s see how that does for herB79F7DAC-08EA-41EB-B070-13B885B4D454.thumb.jpeg.f6a8536601470778988ada97eec809b5.jpeg

That is what is great about stepping outside ones home and seeing for oneself. I think GOA has about 24 "licensed" coffee shops now, all according to them within the legal framework. Now that is not coming from a stoner but an expensive lawyer who speaks latin and a big briefcase.

Cannapax, dont hang with people who purchased the cheapest franchise in South African history by R175K. The interesting people who went with Cannapax ( trail blazers ) and navigated the murky waters with them, did not talk crap wanting the owner of cannapax 20 years jail time, developed the strategy, never gave up and running a successful social club, hats off to you. You are what the industry needs.

The Haze clubs hearing is confirmed for the the 9th of June, there we will find out what they think about the clubs. Currently the amended draft proposal includes a paragraph about the commercialization of recreational cannabis, no details just an insertion and somewhat of a notion that regulations would follow somewhere.

With so much detail around what where and how in terms of cannabis and cannabis consumption, one usually gets the feeling that the community is still being strung along the path of bullshit hopes and dreams. I still have little faith in governments vision for cannabis.

The only further extension they want to offer is instead of 4 flowering plants if you are alone, they will allow 1 individual 8 plants on the premise that medical evidence is provided for the need for palliation. 8 plants, no more! As if they are coming to the table and meeting the needs of the people.

Buying, selling, giving, and everything in and around the shadows they don't care. More than 8 flowering plants and you'll still be considered a criminal with the merky system we have. Doesn't mean you'll be convicted. Just means you could very possibly be inconvenienced.

You got to take your hat off to these guys doing their thing and writing a side law for themselves to be governed by, based on what information they have. Not saying what they have come up with is wrong. As I have said before, these guys upscaling and taking themselves away from initial preface are still journeying on unchartered territory. Actually people have already been there and done that, and well they have court dates now.

I get the whole empowering the community scheme and getting everyone to grow more and make things more accepted, but at the end of the day, we need to see face value of this thing, government see illegal farms as part and parcel of the Justice system, the same Justice system that is still amending the bill, even though Rama P said moenie wary nie, Precedency got this... More lies.

The Dream Queen strain is suppose to flower in under 60 days. That is why I put it on the slurricane. And also the Terps. Would have liked to see it have more frost though. But I do have a small amount of seeds to hunt through still one day. It does look to be a yielder though. Beautiful grow.

This type of genetics gets to a decent enough size to almost chop early if necessary. I wonder if it could be forced to flower fast resulting in a faster finisher by means of lower light hours and less overall nutrients.

Either way, you could even ride it out slowly and finish with massive colas.

The taller one had more frost, the shorter one not so much, Saw more of the slurri traits in the taller, however I enjoyed the shorter one to smoke.
