Izzy looks like he learnt a lot from his fight with Jan. If Marvin had like just +1 to jiu jitsu fundamentals he could have gotten that rear naked choke. Instead of Marvin digging his heels into Izzy's thighs to prevent Izzy from twisting in the guard, he instead crossed his ankles which is a no-no. The difference between Moreno's choke and Marvin's choke is the difference between a champion and not. Moreno was textbook stuff.

The Moreno fight was a goody, classic rear naked choke to seal the deal. Nate Diaz was such a clown but what a good show he put on. Nearly getting the knockout in the last round. Jamahal Hill getting his elbow snapped, yikes. Probably had so much adrenaline he didn't feel the pain. I am happy Marvin Vettori was put in his place.
  3. Good morning Lettuce get to business. No need to dawdle with seedlings and veg, we're going straight into preflower on this one. To fillup the tent, I am also running 1x Wedding Cake [ @1000Hills Nursery] and 1x Choc Gelato thanks to @Cannabist I also have 5x Zkittlez x Purple Punch clones from a mother from a previous run like this one, these are to fill the tent further and provide a reference to the height I've been choosing my plant. Thus far with the clones I've managed to get them pretty consistent in height. 18 April the seedlings were repotted into their initial pots and went into veg. Flip was done on the 1st June, so we are a week+ into preflower currently. Pistols are blooming nicely on the daily. The aromas are just beginning to change to that familiar skunky funky. I began with 10 Regular Tortoni beans and ended with 4 males, 1 weak sauce Betty, and 5 sturdy females. The objective at this point is to choose one based off of whatever is the ultimate consensus of this thread. This will then be my latest addition to what will be my stable of strains. Seeing as we are doing the growoff with the feminised beans it will be shap to see the result of the regular females. Also, I want the blessings and knowledge of our papa @Totemic The plants are in order of the Tortoni's from left to right, then the additional plants. I have also taken the current heights of the plants from the base of the medium to the top of the plant. I've attempted my best to keep all the pots at the same level T#10 - 70cm T#5 - 51cm T#10+5 T#9 - 90cm T#5+9 T#6 - 87cm T#8 - 95cm ZxP - 78cm Wedding Cake + Choc Gelato - Realised I didn't measure lawl Overview I've kept everything pretty vanilla. I am slowly increasing on the light power as the plants begin to progress through preflower. Coco/Perlite 70/30 Gold Label in 17L Dirt Pots (basically thin ass fabric pots. Results vary). Terra (GHE) Aquatica nutrients. I've kept to the standard dosage as described on the bottle. I have also added a Silicon product for the duration of veg. I had a small scare with thrips but after looking around I had only found one little bugger. Three leaves had the usual silver streaky lines but it appears nothing is yikes, all lower leaves. I'm keeping a lookout. I went for a pretty standard trim on the majority of the plants. I took much of the early stems off by the flip but they just blasted in the last week and a half. I have kept conditions at a toasty 22C using a automated panel heater. It's been kak cold outside, jirre. The Wedding Cake has presented itself as quite a thirsty one, it's either a light green plant by nature or she's thirsty. I have her cloned so we can give that one another proper go with some more juice. Otherwise all the other plants are powering on. It's yo boi
  4. I am nearly done with another project where I am isolating a mother from a pack of 10 Regular Tortoni F1's. I got six females and I am eyeing between two really good looking ladies. They are about halfway now through flower. This fem Tortoni for the comp is really just for fun fun. I'm already so up to my tits in mothers and clones from building up my stable over the last while.
  5. I have repotted into a 17L fabric pot and also topped and trimmed The One so I may begin the training. Plant looks a bit droopy due to drying out the pot in preparation for the transplant. I watered with 0.8ml Grow/Micro/Bloom + 0.8ml Silicon per litre. All the branches were looking a bit min and I would usually expect them to be a bit longer by this time but I decided the top needed to happen soon if I were going to commit to it. I'm hoping the fat fan leaves will help in pushing power to the growth node and push those branches a bit faster. I have a feeling now that it only has the single set of branches it will push faster at those points.

    Prom

    Sundays are for Jesus, bro
  7. I have since fed once with 1ml per litre of Grow, Micro (soft) and Bloom respectively. This is now the full dose as recommended on the bottle. I have also continued to add some extra silicon at a strength of 6% SiO2 at a dose of 0.5ml per litre. I have not taken any leaves or even the cotyledons off yet. I am now eyeing when to repot to the final 17L container and also when to do the first topping to begin the mainline. Might actually top as soon as tomorrow or the next day.

  9. @CreX this soaker hose would be a bomb in your tubs.
  10. What are you referring to? Edit: If it's the irrigation system it is all Blumat products. Guide to BluSoak Drip Tape | Irrigation Equipment
  11. Progress! Just since watered once with plain pH 5.8 water.
  12. Snap I just remembered something important, I'm pretty sure most seedbanks sell seeds as souvenirs in South Africa and actually state that it is not their intention to sell seeds for the purposes of germination. They do this to get out of whatever grey area they might find themselves in (like if someone tries to send CPA after them for "faulty" seeds). So ja that's totally out the window then. CPA does not apply.
  13. It's actually a valid question the more I think about it, especially when things in the cannabis industry become much more legitimised and regulated. Does the CPA cover seeds? Traditionally the onus is on the grower to make sure they germinate their seeds properly and to spend their cash on breeders/seedbanks that are reliable. Usually just following this step will not only get you quality beans but in the event that you are disappointed with the germination rate, you'd probably be sorted out by the breeder/seedbank anyways. Food and therefore "seeds" in the general sense are in fact covered right now by the CPA. You buy raw chicken from KFC, you get a refund. That isn't really disputed. If you buy cannabis seeds and non of them germinate, do you have a claim? If reading the CPA objectively, it seems like it, but I can only imagine the can of worms that would be opened if that claim worked out. Are the CPA going to chase a seedbank over a couple hundred rands worth of seeds? Probably not. This is why most businesses in this instance either just give the refund or a replacement item because the social media frenzy would be worse than whatever pitiful fine the CPA could come up with. Point is, the cannabis industry is still in it's infancy in South Africa and making expectations that the CPA covers cannabis seeds is a stretch. Just buy more seeds from another trusted dude and if you're really sour over a few hundred bucks then my bruh you've got other issues I think you gotta deal with first, this isn't exactly a cheap hobby.
  14. Every time I do my rounds you've already beaten me to it.
  15. Jooooooh this takes me back. I thought I could get away with a 400W HPS in a 80x80 tent when I first started and that also gave me a big hiding. If you are rolling a 600W I'd go as big as 1.2m x 1.2m with maybe an air-cooled hood/tube.
  16. As @Twix Aphen says. I should have clarified and said I was using the same nutes in soil as in coco, so if you are using organic nutes I do not think it would do the business. I believe diatomaceous earth when sprinkled as a fine layer on soil can provide a dose of silicon as well as provide a moment of pest reduction.
  17. Silica is incredibly alkaline. Whenever I use it I make sure to pH the solution back to reasonable levels, even before adding any nutrients. I have used silica in both coco and soil without issue, usually just for veg to give the plants a boost in immunity and never the max dose.
  18. Minor update, The One is going strong. Two sets of leaves coming along nicely. I've fed again using the same doses as above. The air is quite dry at the moment so I've felt like I've needed to water slightly more than what I'm used to with seedlings.
  19. Negative. I've successfully done the tinctures but without using the roots and when I get around to doing topical balms I'd like to use the roots for that.
