Never had issues with Meiju, bought a few from them and arrived in about 4 days, longest was 6, marked lower value so customs was barely anything either. I know many others that have purchased and never had issues as well.

Go Alibaba route, either R2T or Meiju. Good quality quantum board clones, with legit diodes. I've been running my 4 of their 800 diode boards for close to a year with zero issues. Stay away from companies like NaLite and Ono. The lights look pretty, but the quality is garbage. I just replaced a popped power supply in mine this weekend. Thankfully I had a spare power unit so i have 10 backs ups, but i'll most likely be rebuilding this light and rip out their shit drivers and stick in two mean wells.

Fully agree, I’m using the organic matters soil now and following @420SA advice on trying to only feed at a later stage. The only thing I’ve done is inoculate the soil with BTI. Then I have a plant in plain coco, that I’m using the greenhouse powder feed on. Personally I think if you flush long enough and ensure the plant uses up it’s available stores, you should be able to get rid of any residual chemical taste, if any. I do enjoy trying different nutes to see which work well, but I’m by no means pro organic or pro chemical.

The mite's I have last an entire grow, and yes there are multiple methods bacteria introduction is another. What is your cheaper reliable method?

Predatory mites are your friend, after dosing my plants with mites for thrips I have not seen one in sight.
