interesting to note how they grow then. whose gonna take it!! soil or coco 😛

Soo many factors, also @Ill_Evan will be doing it outdoors so limited hours of light compared to my indoor grow which is currently 18 hours of light and no clouds or rain will affect the lights the plants get (only Eskom, lol).

So I reckon I may see some better results due to the fact that I am in coco and indoors until harvest, so I can control my environment. We're getting closer to winter so temps and light duration will start to decrease.

A quick update on my auto's, the OG Kush has been the fastest growing auto and has now started to go into pre-flower / stretch and is pushing pistils.

Below is the Pluto Cut which has also been doing really well!

The Gelato below is by far the slowest growing out of all the autos, hopefully it is happy to veg for longer to catch up in size. Could just be a bad seed, I have more Gelato seeds so will see when I run some autos again how it compares then.

Last but not least, the LSD-25 is below which is growing slight faster and bigger than the Gelato but not quite at the same rate as the Ethos autos.

Oh, I almost forgot about these two sad, sad autos... Growing very slowly. I actually thought the Brooklyn Sunrise had stalled and died but last night I saw the two true leaves appear.

Not expecting these to be as great due to their poor start. These are just under 2 weeks old already😕

The lights are higher up though, so think they are not getting enough light - even at this young age. I have my lights dimmed as well.

The larger 4x auto's are still under 100W of lighting, I need to bump it up to 240W now I feel. May even add a bit more for them, will take a look tonight and do a shuffle in the veg tent with the autos.

I saw now you have them in Coco..  What is the ratio between Coco and Perlite? Apologies if it was mentioned..
So the coco which the autos are in is from a 5kg brick and then I just eye balled the amount of perlite, so cannot tell you the ratio.

But I've since started trying out BioLeaf and Freedom Farms coco to see how they do as I'm getting tired of the 5kg bricks and effort required to expand and buffer them.

Do you guys think I should defol my autos or not? Previously I did and it worked out well I feel.
What would you guys like to see? Defol or not?

I've heard good things on the 50/50 Coco Perlite Mix from Freedom Farms.. I think @Gaia Gardener Is using it.. Maybe he can give us some feedback on his experience..

I got the 90 / 10 ff coco, so far it seems decent but so does the BioLeaf which is easier to find up here in Gauteng and cheaper.

So I'm leaning towards the BioLeaf at the moment, will continue to monitor and see if I experience any issues.

This is my first effort at LST, and I have done some defol. These are like Bonzai plants, super small. Never got to the bottom of it but I assume maybe they should have stretched more in the beginning? So probably too much light too soon. Can anyone comment on that?
I also made the mistake of leaving a 5cm space between the coco and the top of the pot... when watered and settled it dropped even lower, so the bottom fan leaves just just made it out of the pot.

Anyway there are 5 ladies here, four Moby Dick (Dinafem) and one Blue Amnesia XXL in the smaller green pot. I had to put the AH into this tent’s Autopot res because it was such a late developer compared to the other three.

It was quite a lot of work getting them into an more or less LST canopy, once they were into flower a week or two I backed off and just let them do their own thing. The main cola still dominates as the biggest bud on each plant.

A short while ago I did another defol to open up the airflow and get light lower in the grow.

An update on my autos, it feels as if they are taking forever to form bud! However it is now starting to happen at least.

Thanks, although I really do feel that strain makes a big difference and breeder too.

You can clearly see the other 2 autos are quite small and growth has not been on the same level despite the same conditions.

Once again, at this point, the autos cannot compete with photoperiods in terms of frost.
I can see that the structure also isn't on the same level as some of the photos I have grown.

It's a known fact that auto flowers typically have a lower potency compared to what one can achieve with a lot of photoperiod strains.
24% is really high for autos, around 30% is really high for photoperiods.
You're unlikely to achieve these figures with just any strain as well, so on average potencies will be lower.

What I am saying I guess is that you should try grow some photoperiods, you may have a better experience and get some better bud too - just ensure you get some quality strains from good breeders.

Yeah definitely. I was just envious when I saw your plants but its true what you say regarding genetics.

Keep up the good work.
