Master_G
Hi All. So with things being Legal I finally convinced my wife that growing is safer than buying and subsequently started with a grow. i got somewhat lucky and got a tent 165x80x120, 150w vegging and 250w flowering CFL for the whopping price of R1000.00 i also received a gem Super Lemon Haze feminized seed, which came from Cape Ape. i am hoping to get some assistance as I think I may need some help. i am aware that hps/hid/led etc is better but I’m just growing to support my habit which is not more than 20g pm, so I hope I can make enough to give me that. I’m also hoping to find someone in JHB who I might be able to swap or whatever clones etc.
Master_G
Oh before I forget. Im in 3 and a half minds about which route to take. either I have to go for soil grow (freedom farms) or Autopots with hydroton and peat. I am open to suggestions. Nostrovia
Gratz on the bargain I'd look into jamiesgarden soil amendments less trouble compared to full on hydro. I have not personally tried it but I've heard only good things about his soil. and will definitely build my next medium with his organic additives.

Master_G
Just a little update. Seems ms we have lift-off. The only seed I am remotely interested in is the Female Super Lemon Haze and she has just shown signs of life. the pic was taken at 5:30am I guess 21 deg at 70% humidity in the tent. Decided Ed I will go with freedom farms soil. I’ll get that over the weekend and probably start with the potting part in the week. what is the negative of going straight into a 10L pot?
Pat999
The FF soil is the way to go. The negative for going straight into a 10L pots is that there is no root structure, meaning it'll take longer to get established. Would be good to start off with a small 500ml/1L pot then pot up later on. Congrats on the popping of the girl. Now the fun startsSent from my G3312 using Tapatalk
greenkush
Lol @Master_G Your tiles look very familiar, you wouldn't happen to stay in the same areas as Gt Hydro ?:P I wonder if we live in the same complex.
Master_G
@greenkush yup I was there just this morning. we could very possibly stay in the same complex. @Pat999 I decided to transplant and went straight to a woolworths shopping bag. I’m happy if it takes a while to establish as I’m going to pop some more seeds (the autos I received just yesterday from Biltong & Budz) So what happened today after spending some hard earned cash. I got a budget hood and I also managed to get some pullies. Must say I’m pleasantly surprised with the pully quality. Im contemplating buying my mates almost new LED 600w grow light as he bought 2 x 450w cobs. Still in 2 minds about it. So order my own cob light 450w from amazon and pay around R1600.00 or buy the 600w Led system for 2k??? feel free to comment which route you would take
Budwizer
You can take the propagator lid off now. The key difference between transplanting into a small pot or a big pot, is how much moisture you expose the seedling to. You can water to saturation in a small cup, and it’ll dry out in two or three days, no problem. Water too much in that Woollies pot, and it’ll stay wet for weeks, which could cause issues. So only pour a half cup of water around the seedling, for now. Get the temperature up in the propagator. I run 27.5 C. My seeds are up in two to three days. Get a 400w HID setup. MH for veg, HPS for flower. You’ll get the best results overall from that, provided you can manage temps and air exchange. Progress to LED. Your next move is airflow. Fresh in, stale out.
Budwizer
Oh yeah looking at your jiffy’s, they’re too wet. You gotta give them a little shake to drop some water after you expand them. See that dark colour the cover makes where it touches the peat? You only wanna see that on the bottom third of the jiffy. Add water with a spray bottle everyday if you don’t see that darkness on the bottom third, but don’t let the peat get saturated like in your pics. I give my jiffys a good squeeze to get rid of most of the water, moist is enough girls like it that waySent from my G3312 using Tapatalk
greenkush
I've always had such bad luck with jiffy pellets from my chillies to cannabis. So i just plant direct into the pot these days.

Master_G
Hmmm. Ok ok I think I went all wrong with this lady. Let’s see how she goes. tonight I’m putting my bubblegum and AK in water to start them germinating. I will follow everything y’all said. i might add that the reason I made the jiffies wetter is due to the fact that I popped the dry seed straight into the jiffy. I didn’t do the water/toilet paper thing

Master_G
On 2/18/2019 at 8:31 AM, greenkush said: What all went wrong? TO be honest.. Nothing. The Super Lemon haze is pushing its initial 2 real leaves quite dramatically under the 150w CFL. temps are around 30ish degrees and humidity staying over 60% ( not those 2 original round leafs). The seed popped in 3 days straight from dry pip in my over watered Jiffy, and the Jiffy dried out well too. I am either FCKN lucky or just accidentally did it oksih. The soil in the woollies bag seems to have dried well and the wetness is far from the actual plant at this stage and i'm not watering it at the moment. Just letting things settle in a little. I haven't yet done anything with those Autos I received from Biltong and Budz, as i have been speaking quite a bit with a Certain grower/breeder and now i am going to make some drastic changes which will end up with me popping those 2 autos in 2 x 5L FF soil containers and just let them do their thing on their own as i wont be focusing on Autos. After that i will be doing mainly fems and Cloning. I I'll start with the Lemon haze and see if i can clone it haha. ( maybe just add an auto in my tent from time to time to give me some "Get you by" buds or to ease the pain of expected Fckups) BIG NEWS If all goes according to plan i will be changing to a QB. ( 9 days and counting) which then brings about a WHOLE new kettle of fish. CFL will become a propagation light for all the clones i will be making. I will attempt scrogging with the female SLH from Cape ape seeds hopefully which will be my attempt at it. YES i am going to need a TON of assistance as I literally am using terms i know nothing of and only read up here and saw pics. The only thing that is going to remain the same is that i will still just grow in FF soil and will be adding Bio-Bloom ONLY from week 3 onward.
Master_G
Seeing that this is my first grow, herewith my contribution of “Plant of the Month” That is a sure winner... pmsl. So the Humidity went to 40% with the soil being very dry at the top and still some moisture left at the bottom of the bag. i watered the lady with 500mil of the liquid stuff. I will have to monitor how fast things dry out. I also placed a fan in the tent to see if it cools things down slightly. No extraction or cold air feed at this stage. Master_G
Last night I popped my Auto AK and Bubblegum seeds into water. This am they sunk to the bottom and they got placed into wet toilet paper in saucers. May as well get some bud from these seeds I guess.
Master_G
So a big update today. Payday finally came around and I got my 320w QB. Thanks @greenkush much appreciated for everything. So I have a few clones now that needs to be helped back into veg after which I will clone off them and hopefully be successful. With the new light I think the plants will grow nicely. Watering and possibly adding some fish mix just for a little nitrogen, transplanting clones to decent pots whilst my autos can do their thing. Now for the lovely images Not the greatest bud pic and yes it’s dry but tonight is watering time. In the tent we now have 1 x Super Lemon Haze fem 1 x Girl Scout cookies fem 1 x Royal Gorilla Fem 1 x Cinderella 99 Fem 1 x AK Auto 1 x Bubblegum extra Auto Hooefully this addition and the extraction etc I am putting In this weekend will make the plants happy. 4

Also, quite jealous about the QB, cause I'm still saving for mine, but I am glad to see it cause every QB grow just confirms my choice is changing over from HPS.What is your history with Auto's.??? I know they can be full of shit and I see your doing the paper towel method. Not from here or thereNot from now or then
Master_G
@Smelly Joe I have never really used the paper towel method. as this is actually my first ever grow i have no exp in anything. SO i am growing FEMS, CLones and Autos. haha.. one of those plants has to give me at least one good ol TOKE. hahaha Other that that.. Herewith a little pic update of my babies.. So from the left we have: Green bag : Girls scout cookies clone that was in flowering. She pulled out nicely and re-entered veg. (this is astonishing for me but oh well there she is in all her GLORY.) Some yellowing i imagine from the cloning phase however the new growth is looking quite awesome. Left bottom FF Fabric pot : C99 Clone that had a good amount of illness and had some dying leaves which i subsequently AFTER taking this pic removed. i topped this plant and the side branches as pushing nicely now. Plant is also looking quite ok now. Left Top FF Fabric pot : Royal Gorilla CLone, same story as above.. flowering phase.. little sickly but also pulled out nicely and growing now. this one took the longest to respond from what i can see. Next up on the bottom right: RED woolies bag : Super Lemon Haze Fem from seed. This lady is looking awesome. I am astonished at the leaf structure. I was under the impression that sativa dominant plants should have a thin leaf. Anyway.. what do i know right? SHes looking mighty fine in my eyes. leaves healty and flourishing nicely.. I will be cloning her for sure.. Right top: Blue and white bag: THis is my Auto AK, something happened with this plant. it just went apeshit and leaves burnt on sides but i think that was maybe because i was feeding non ph water at 7.8. I recently bought a PH pen from GTH for R750.00 and introduced seagro into my water to add a little nitrogen.. this seems to have made a massive difference. ANyway with that said she pulled out.. she is an auto so i'm waiting for it to grow properly so that i can see what autos does. and last but not least: Blue bag: Auto Bubblegum extra, also starting its thing. seems settled and looking like shes also happy in the tent. I have been running on 24 hours on, tried the timer thing, but it does my head in.. like the stupid thing doesn't want to work. so i need to do some testing over the weekend to see if i can figure this out which is seemingly straight forward but weirdly enough not.
Stinger96
As a NewBee myself with absolutely no experience with indoor, I was wondering if you are not worried about space. You have some nice strains but do you not think it's gonna get a bit crowded in your tent..?
