  1. Glass of water for 24 - 36 hours then into soil. I don't seem to have much success with the paper towel method. Glass of water then into jiffy plugs have also worked in the past. Just a mission to get plugs out on the reservation hence water then soil now. 43 from 45 seeds germinated last planting from water into soil. Sent from my DRA-LX5 using Tapatalk
  2. Understandable, life tends to take over sometimes. Sent from my DRA-LX5 using Tapatalk
  3. So I have taken 2 seeds and put them out there for free as part of an opening promotion on a business venture I've started. Remaining 3 will be planted in due time. One will become a mother plant and the others will be left to flower. Sent from my DRA-LX5 using Tapatalk
  4. Not the best pics but here we are. First pic is CG x GTH in 10l pots. Short but bushy. Should be showing its sex soon by the looks of things. Pic 2 & 3 is the CG x Slurricane in the 20l pot. Tried taking a pic of the one in the 10l but the damn plant just blends into the plants behind it. Nice and bushy it is though. Sent from my DRA-LX5 using Tapatalk
  5. Thanks@Cannabist for the freebies. I've always been wary of ordering online, this delivery has changed my mind. You can add this future customer to your mailing list. [emoji109] Sent from my DRA-LX5 using Tapatalk
  6. Those are the lessons you never forget hey. Another little bit of useless information we use at our nursery is: After you've done your research and test area as above is to spray in the afternoon after the heat of the day if outdoors. Then spray down the next morning while watering. This prevents residual build up and avoids all sorts of heat/sun chemical reaction damage to the plants. Sent from my DRA-LX5 using Tapatalk
  7. Spoke to soon. The 1.3m in the 20l pot got composted this morning. Two left in 10l pots looking good, no predictions, just looking good. Sent from my DRA-LX5 using Tapatalk
  8. Week 1. Pic 1&2 indoor. Pic 3&4 outdoor. Original 30 seeds planted have all sprouted. Two of them are stragglers but I'm hoping there's a bit of fight in them. Some people enjoy the flowering stage. I love watching these little buggers develope and the way they just fok voort. Of the following 15 seeds planted they went from glass into pot and straight outdoors. Nine have sprouted. Plants are a bit stretchy due to my light being a bit to high but they seem happy.
  9. [emoji1690] Thanks. Sent from my DRA-LX5 using Tapatalk
  10. Update and pic time. For those who don't know this grow was moved to the shade house from indoors. The grow in the cabinet is still 100% South African, a little project pheno hunting GTH#1 x OKC for @Totemic. I'm not sure how to link the thread so some help here please moderators, @CreX, anyone. Thanks in advance. Pic #1. African Buddha 800mm. Pic #2. Master Lester. Pic #3. Glamberry x Lemon Jedi OG. Must say that the plants are enjoying the shade house.
  11. A quick update. Think I can say the ladies (early signs of being female) are healthy and happy. Plants in the 20l pots have topped out at 1.3m and the 10l pots are at 700mm.
  12. Back dated pics. I'll be sticking to a routine and updating on Sundays.
  13. @CreX thanks for bringing the upload limit up again. Used duckduckgo and hey presto. Don't know what I did but hey, success. Maybe it's because I haven't had a puff in 2 days. Maybe I should change my name to goofballdave.
  14. Hey all. I spotted the beginning of spider mites on my outdoors. Clipped the affected leaves and everytime I water I give the whole plant a light spray when watering. As backup I crushed 2 garlic cloves, 2 chillies, half an onion and let it sit in 3l of water for 3 days then sieve. Usually use (spray the leaves and stem) this for mealybugs on our palm trees. Was gonna try it on the plants but Murphy's Law, the light spraying seems to have worked for me as plants are tip top now. Sent from my DRA-LX5 using Tapatalk
  15. I think it's the word LITE after the name. Sent from my DRA-LX5 using Tapatalk
  16. In-store as well. Sent from my DRA-LX5 using Tapatalk

  18. They spending the week indoors to give them a head start then into the shade house. Sent from my DRA-LX5 using Tapatalk
  19. Firstly I hope this is the right place@Totemic. So I have been entrusted to be part of the Pheno hunt and I am feeling privileged, excited and nervous all at the same time. Thanks for the trust@Totemic. 30 seeds popped into to glass 22/1 @ 16H30. 23/1 @ 18H30 27 out of the 30 showed their tails. 24/1 @ 08H00 seeds put into 3l pots including the 3 hopefully late comers. 25/1 @ 16H00 11 had broken the surface. 26/1 @ 08H00 27 from the 30 broke surface. Under 4 days from opening the seed pack. Then there are 15 more in water been planted tomorrow. Sorry guys, no pics till the end of month. Used up my allocated uploads. 20. Mr Nice. Met the legend years ago in London through a friend. Greeted the guy and small talk during the evening. If only I knew then what I know now. You got me wanting to read the book again. Anyone who hasn't should. Sent from my DRA-LX5 using Tapatalk
  21. Yeah, routine is the key. I pop seeds into water Thursday evening/Friday that way I can usually pop into pot come Monday. I actually enjoy watching the seedling to veg stage. Tough little buggers these plants are. Sent from my DRA-LX5 using Tapatalk
  22. Hey bud you well. What exactly is it that one looks for in a grow diary. I try and do diaries to the best of my limited knowledge. Growdiaries.com have a good set-up but i grow in soil and don't use nutes yet so for me it just becomes a log. Plant, water, photo, harvest. I'm sure a lot of us have tried to google a diary template, say no more. As you may have noticed that my hand is always the first to raise in class when a test grow is up for grabs. I've learnt a lot from the forum on the grow front. Now I need help keeping a diary on our great SA breeder's and strain's. Need pointers guys. [emoji109] Sent from my DRA-LX5 using Tapatalk
  23. Local is lekker and I back up that phrase with my wallet. Although I've been growing for some time I am new to the science of growing so this is a personal opinion with absolutely no scientific fact. It's like the what came first, egg or chicken, question. International breeder takes two seeds and does his magic. I see no reason why local breeders cannot do the same with good results. Yeah California is the birth place and miles ahead in the marijuana game but I don't think that should give them a monopoly of the mindset that you can't get better anywhere else. This year I am only growing local genetics and have been fortunate enough to help a local breeder with a pheno hunt. You know who you are, thanks bud. My second project for the year is that I'm gonna attempt to establish a library of local genetics bonsai mother plants. I have space and it looks like another year of no work or income for our small family business so plenty of time on hand as well. So far I have multiple strains from 3 breeder's and will be adding another from Lesotho shortly. Exciting year to keep it local I say. [emoji109] Sent from my DRA-LX5 using Tapatalk
