  1. Welcome! Your name is awfully close to mine A carbon filter is to help mask the smell of the plants, especially once they start flowering. The air passes through the carbon, the smell basically attaches to the carbon and what comes out is air which is smell free (or heavily reduced). So whether it is required or not will depend on you and your situation etc. As for the sized fan, well, with LED lighting heat is not an issue, you could likely get away with a 4" fan, otherwise a 6" fan and run it on a lower setting for less noise should work well too. I'd personally go for a 6" fan as its more common and you can always increase the speed if need be. As for the size of the filter, well, its a small grow space so do not need a large one. Probably between 30 to 50cm long is fine but also keep in mind the larger the carbon filter the more carbon and therefore the longer it could possibly last. Not sure what you are asking about with regards to plastic vs metal? For what exactly? The fans and/or filter? Either or really... My fans are made from plastic, its common. The filters are generally metal, although I have seen some difference designs. I would not bother with plastic vs metal as a deciding factor.
  2. Yes, breeding outdoors isn't ideal anymore. Breeding indoors, space is often the problem and a limiting factor. Sent from my Redmi Note 7 Pro using Tapatalk
  3. It's quite sad actually and that's always been my thing... Is it really a true landrace? When people talk about Durban Poison, is it the original strain? Sent from my Redmi Note 7 Pro using Tapatalk
  4. You're gonna be smoking DP for a loooong time, if it's even true DP. Curious to see the mother though. Sent from my Redmi Note 7 Pro using Tapatalk
  5. Without a doubt, lots of shit out there I feel. Although with that being said, what I look for in a strain may differ to what you look for. Sent from my Redmi Note 7 Pro using Tapatalk
  6. Well, it's not terribly high per say. Check the humidity outside and compare to what it is inside the room and then you'll have an idea as to whether the room is keeping humidity in or whether its more or less the same as the outside ambient humidity. The difference in humidity between your room and inside the tent is more of the problem I reckon. I doubt the room is that far off from outside, unless there is no ventilation inside the room, but chances are it would then increase quite a bit too after a few days.
  7. Best not to use that pollen as the offspring have a higher chance of becoming a hermie too.
  8. @Prom how does it work with customs and the value of the items? Do Planet Express require invoices / proof of payment for each item they receive and then they send the total value of the items through to customs or do you simply state what you paid and they take your word for it? Also the Planet Mail Express shipping option is the cheapest, is this courier or via the post offices?
  9. I'd also rather use jiffys or plugs. I personally prefer jiffys. For seeds I prefer to start them in paper towel, then put them into my medium. For cuttings jiffys are cool. I have never removed the outer cloth from the jiffy pellets either, the roots grow through without issues.
  10. In a small tent like that, hanging it from the ceiling or at an angle from the top and let it blow downwards. Sent from my Redmi Note 7 Pro using Tapatalk
  11. Very nice! Coming along nicely, although what is up with the tips of the leaves?
  12. Thanks, have sent an email to that email address as well basically stating the same. Although it bounced back. WTF.
  13. Wonder if it will make any difference, we can hope.
  14. Ahh ok, makes more sense. I have nothing against crypto, infact I own a bit myself of various crypto's. Don't think I hold any BTC at the moment though, lol. I think your situation may be the exception though.
  15. I also have a bright star one, got from Takealot a while back. One died, then takealot swapped it out. The other is quite noisy but still working. I got another one from I cannot remember where and that died within 3 months. Sent from my Redmi Note 7 Pro using Tapatalk
  16. Clip fans can be convenient, although price and lifespan is what has put me off. The clip fans I have had, have not lasted long. How old are your clip fans, I assume they also run 24/7 ? I see Hydroponic have a RAM clip fan, wonder if that may not last longer. Its like R600 though.
  17. But why? What is the appeal to using BTC to buy seeds? If you're buying KG's of some illicit substance or trying to launder money, I could maybe see the appeal to using cryptos for certain things... But Bitcoin... for cannabis seeds. I do not see why. Bitcoin isn't anonymous, it can be traced. Also there are additional fees, not sure what they are now and it takes time and if you are buying it with fiat you automatically lose out a bit and would need the price of BTC to go up to "break even" on your purchase.
  18. Do you have a carbon filter as this does effect the extraction, especially when humidity is involved. If there is limited passive air intake, that too can make a huge difference!
  19. Those smaller clip on type of fans generally do not last all that long. I also prefer the larger box fans or oscillating fans, lots of options available with those - just need to become creative with how to mount them.
  20. With crypto there are loads of wallets out there and many different ways to buy crypto and such. Luno is probably the easiest way if someone really wants to pay with BTC but not sure why you'd want to do that when purchasing seeds...
  21. It's a weed war and the aliens just die. Sent from my Redmi Note 7 Pro using Tapatalk
  22. Welcome and enjoy your stay! The rainbow is very cool, aliens look a bit creepy but remind me of a song. Hopefully those aliens aren't going to try steal our weed! lol
  23. I do not see much bud at all, mostly leaves. I reckon you still have a while to go, you will ultimately need to get a microscope / loupe to check the trichomes and then base your decision as to when to harvest based on that. It will start off clear, then turn milk and then eventually turn an amber / orange colour. If you want to flush, you can start flushing when you see a bit of amber coming through. You will then gain a bit of insight and experience and next time can try a different amber ratio and see what you prefer.
  24. I am not doing any breeding. Currently happy using GHE nutes - simple and effortless. Just works well.
  25. As @SkunkPharm mentioned, we'd need more info. If the RH in the room is high, then you can add as much extraction as you want, the RH will not drop as the air being sucked in still has the same RH. In such a case, you'd need to look at a dehumidifier.
