Waazzzzup!

So considering my other grows have come to an end, might as well start a new grow diary!

I have the following Ethos strains which I am busy growing out: Inzane in the Membrane, Grape Diamonds, Mandarin Cookies & Early Lemon Berry.

I also have Zweet OG, Mystery Cookies and Citradelic Sunset which I shall be growing later on.

Most of the ones I am growing have now been put into flower, so the boring veg part has at least been cut out! 😄 Some were started from clones, some from seeds. Plan on using some STS as well so every plant is from a different seed in essence.

First off, the Early Lemon Berry.

This is the clone I got, thinking of actually using it to get pollen from as I dislike the way it has been growing and I have not done any training on it. Excuse the burnt leaves at the bottom, it's from a pyrol & neem spray.

The Lemon Berry which has been grown from seed, probably going to put into a 20L pot and use this one to bear the seeds.

I started it in soil and have since transplanted to coco & perlite. Have mainlined the plant, will probably start doing some LST as well to ensure a flat canopy.

So far I am not very impressed with the Early Lemon Berry, growth seems to be slow but hopefully it shines in flower and the bud is worth it.

Next up is the Grape Diamonds, I have literally just put the one into flower tonight (19 November) and boy oh boy I am loving this plant so far! Growth has been amazing and explosive. I know @Master_G pulled an awesome amount of bud from his Grape Diamond. The colour which came through on his was also super sexy and extremely frosty! Cannot wait to harvest! 😄

The Grape Diamond plant I will be using to get pollen from:

This is one of my Mandarin Cookies which was grown from clone, she will just be giving me bud. No seeds on her, I have another 2 Mandarin Cookies being grown from seeds of which one will bear seeds and the other give pollen. Also very nice growth and an easy plant to work with so far, although from what I have seen from @Master_G's one he had in flower... does not appear to be anything too special - I guess we shall find out come harvest time though. This one shall be referred to as Mandarin Cookies #1

Put her into flower on 8 November.

Next up is a strain I have been wanting for a while, Inzane in the Membrane! The growth on this plant is really explosive, more so than the Grape Diamond. Very nice thick stems, easy to train and the rated THC % is spectacular at 30 - 35% on average, obviously depending on how well you grow her and the pheno. Put her into flower 15 November.

Looks like you are using some of those blumat wortels. How are they working for you? It's on my Christmas list.

Firstly this is the Tropf Blumat system, so it works like a dripper - the other blumat systems work on the basis that the carrot is full of water / nutes and then as the medium (soil, coco etc.) dries up, it draws the water through the clay carrot - which is then refilled either via a bottle on top of the carrot or a small tube, depending on which one you have.

The Tropf uses the carrot and the medium to draw water out of it, to trigger when it starts to drip the water / nute solution from a res (or tap). As the soil gets wet then the clay carrot draws water / nutes  back inside of it and stops dripping water.

Well, I am in the process of switching over from soil to Coco & Perlite and have done a bit of a half arsed job, still need to expand the drippers a bit on the larger 20L pots but so far it seems to be working very nice! The fact that you can adjust each carrot individually is awesome and the fact that each plant only gets water when needed is also brilliant. On a traditional drip system, each plant would get water at the same time and the plants not drinking as much are kinda screwed. In soil that can negatively affect your plants. Growth seems to be improved as well, I only set it up on Saturday I think but so far loving it. Still need to set it up in my flowering tent.

I feel the coco & perlite combined with the blumat system will be fantastic! I am expecting quicker growth too and the fact that I no longer need to water by hand is very welcome. Such a tedious task!

Can see someone doesn't like dem larfies. Quite interested in seeing how that grape diamonds flowers out now that you've focused all the growth to those tops.

Nah, I also did some schwartzing in my previous grow if you'd like to go and see how that went. Still get a few here and there but this time I am changing things a bit.

Main reason I clean the plants so much is to avoid trimming the small shitty nugs, although I have now gone into flower with larger plants and am aiming for 6 to 8 main colas, previously I feel I had too many which negatively affected light penetration in my limited flowering space. I feel having fewer colas will help in this regard.

I will also be defoliating a bit more and a bit earlier. I am going to play around a bit with a few other things and see how it turns out and if it will help increase my yield.

Back to the thread, I have found the dates I put the plants into flower and have edited the original post as well to refelct these dates for those interested.

Mandarin Cookies #1 (I plan to add a 2nd one into flower later, hence the numbering): 8 Nov 2019

Inzane In the Membrane: 15 Nov 2019

Grape Diamond: 19 Nov 2019

So Man Cookies #1 has started showing some pistils, nothing yet on the others.

Man Cookies #2 still has a bit of vegging to do before I will put her into flower, want her a bit bigger than she currently is.

For those who may be interested, it is the following:

Mandarin Cookies R2
Grape Diamonds R2
Early Lemon Berry R1

I believe there is a Man Cookies R1, not sure about any variations on the Early Lemon Berry and Grape Diamonds.

So the plants are coming along nicely, the ones I have in the flowering tent.

I gave them a spray with some milk & AQ sf as a precaution as another plant of mine has PM, so excuse the ugly white spots on the leaves. Rather spray them before the bud starts forming and getting dense.

The pole is a 1.2m pole, to give you an idea of the height of the plants.

I did a bit of defoliation after taking these pictures.

A bit of an update, all the Ethos plants are looking good and doing well.

IMG_20191212_072637.jpg.e25e59bc46b147350fb5e0af026ee55c.jpg

Man Cookies #1:

Inzane:

The plants which have been sprayed with STS are forming pollen sacs, so I should be able to pollinate the Grape and Inzane within the next week or 2.

I must put the donor Man Cookies into flower and start spraying her with some STS as well - only for the Man Cookies #2 though which is still busy stretching, not much in terms of pistils yet.

A quick update pic, need to do some defoliation.

I pollinated the Inzane on Tuesday night, after hosing her down before putting her back in the tent she got a bit top heavy. I will need to get some steaks to support her.

Tried to take a few more pictures but was struggling and was in a hurry so left it.

EDIT: A quick update on how far along the plants are.

Man Cookies #1: 41 days into flower (around 3 - 4 weeks left)

Inzane in the Membrane: 34 days into flower (around 5 weeks left)

Grape Diamonds: 30 days into flower (around 5 weeks left)

Man Cookies #2: 16 days into flower (around 7 weeks left)

I will not be flowering the Early Lemon Berry, these will most likely be going to @CreX and he can do a grow diary for them if he so desires.

The Grape Diamonds will be pollinated within the next few days, the pollen sacs appear to be almost ready.

The Man Cookies #2 will still be a while before she gets pollinated.

So last night I finally got around to pollinating the Grape Diamonds with some Grape Diamonds pollen and hosed her down this morning - a bit gentler this time so she does not need any additional support for now. 😄

All plants looking good, the Inzane is coming along nicely with the seeds forming.

Man Cookies #1 looking hella frosty! I wish my phone was better at taking pics of bud.

MC1.thumb.jpg.08ab6991172aab477cd9d681288251c4.jpg

The Man Cookies #2 has stretched a looot, a lot more than I anticipated as well so I had to bend some of the branches and tie them down to try and even out the canopy a bit.

Before any additional training on the Man Cookies #2

One branch done:

All the branches done:

I must admit I have been neglecting this grow a bit due to life, however so far the results still appear to be decent.

I have started giving 2 of the plants ripening nutes and will probably start flushing the Man Cookies #1 in a week or so and will be using some Florakleen to flush.

So I have been seriously slacking with updates on this grow, it has not been an ideal grow at all.

I have hardly been home, so have really neglected the grow, I got some PM earlier on which was treated but I took my time to treat the PM and then I was a few days late with multiple waterings which the plants were not too happy about. I also got thrips which I did not notice right away and they pretty much wrecked the leaves on some of the plants (especially Man Cookies #2). Hopefully Man Cookies #2 will pull through.

I have pollinated the Man Cookies #2 and the Grape Diamond. I have harvested the Man Cookies #1 and am waiting for the Inzane and her seeds to mature before I harvest.

I have not even had time to trim the harvested Man Cookies #1 so will be forced to do a dry trim. The bud looks alright still, decent frost but I do not feel these plants have reached their full potential unfortunately and it is all my fault.

I just want this grow to be over, will need to give the tent a good clean due to the pests and PM and then will start a new grow... But only once everything has been harvested. The Man Cookies #2 is looking super frosty but I am getting worried and thinking the thrip damage on the leaves is perhaps too severe and stunting the plant. Will give it a bit more time and then decide whether to scrap it or try and see what I can get out of the plant and whether it's worth while or not.
