  1. @MambawanaI felt like the turtle in finding Nemo when Merlin freaks out when the turtles kid falls out of the EAC now now... Let's see how Lil Smokey does solo We got his back if shit goes south.
  2. I'd still like to know where the perlite came from lol
  3. LOL slow down bro beans, he has the tea. Give it a few days and he should be fine. Trust in the power of microbes!! I have been in his shoes and root rot is sad bad news... But with the tea, it's all win Win win. He has a control plant so let's see the difference in a few days.
  4. Oh, I just wanted to find out why there is perlite in the res? Did this plant not start life in DWC?
  5. Sweet!! Keen to see the results! The loadshedding can affect the tea negatively, but it's not the end of the world... The more important factor would be the use of water that has been left to sit for a few days as fresh tap water will kill all the microbes and make your tea smell like actual shit. Rainforest is good! Did you use it all? If not how are you storing the extra tea? I find storing it in the fridge really prolongs the teas life, but I got into trouble the one day when the bottle leaked in the fridge... Lol I never heard the end of it, so now I use the whole amount, any excess I chuck in my outside garden to also benifit... Or offer it to others who might want a splash
  6. Looks like perlite to me... Or am I looking at the wrong things lol
  7. Hehehe she loves helping me with the "flowers" hehehe. She's an excellent watererer and digger She's almost big enough to have her own veggie patch that I can help her with. Start her off on some tomatoes
  8. First tip would be to use a stronger mix. Minimum 3% solution, 5-8%would be better with a water spray 20 min after peroxide application... if you do decide on a higher strength. Okay so you put 3ml(@50%) into 5000ml of water (@0%) That gives you a final percentage of 0.0003% Practically water again sadly 5l is a loooooot of spray for your ladies. I would maybe mix smaller batches, 2l at the max and go from there. For a 3% solution you would need 120ml hydrogen peroxide per every 2000ml Or 300ml in 5000ml water. But for pm... I have never had luck with hydrogen peroxide. I have had the best luck with milk. A milk and humic acid spray to be exact. I dilute milk about 50 50 into water, and add a good sploosh of humic acids and I'm good to go. Fresh milk works just fine, but iv found that slightly off milk works way better. It leaves the leaves looking a bit funky, which is easily sorted with a water spray... but it sorts out the PM chop chop. And is way less dangerous than H2O2
  9. Alright!! 2020 here I come!!! In this picture, you will see everything that my life revolves around Making her daddy proud
  10. Sweet!! I am really gobsmacked at how beautiful she became... I would love to get a cutting some time if that's cool
  11. Beautiful plants man!! Really has me blown away!! But, I notice you posted the weights... I was expecting closer to 80g per plant!! Do you have any cuts of the OKC?
  12. There is a lot of controversy about this. I used to take into account, but kept making the mistake of putting the tea in the fresh res with the fresh nutes!! Turns out it's not that much of a mistake... I have never noticed any negative reactions or a foul stench from my res or anything bad... Only good. There is some truth to the other half of the story, but it only applies if you have stupidly high EC, standard 1 to 2 EC is not a stress. As for the cleaning... You will be surprised at how clean the res stays... I cannot remember the last time I had to actually wash a res... I literally just rinse the bucket with fresh water and then start adding my sat water and nutes and tea. And remember, tea is not a nutrient source... I mean... It has a few... But you shouldn't count it in your feeding due to the small doses you give the plant. I mean at full strength, EC might be 0.3, But when you take 200ml and put it into 50 000mls res water, it really is almost a drop in the ocean. After they have innoculated the roots, the plant will begin to dump carbohydrates into the water that the microbes feed on to stay alive, or in soil they would start breaking down the nutes and feed on that or also the additional carbs from the plant In a few days you will notice an off white slime develop on your air tubing... This is the mycorrhizal fungi colonizing everything. It's not really slimy... But it's not to be confused with cyanobacteria which is a darker brown slime... And is slimey
  13. Not sure that's a problem at the moment... You still have decent new root tips and growth. I have found that teas make the roots go browner and not at all appealing to be honest... But I really couldn't care when the performance is great
  14. Excellent!! That's the good stuff right there!! I smell the soils I like to use... I like to think I'm able to smell if it's bacteria Dom or fungi Dom... The fungi one is easy.... The soil will smell like earthy mushrooms And the bacteria one I'm still figuring out... But I do know that less mushroom smell is an indication, as well as the... Musty earthy smell... It must smell like dank soil samples! Hit us up with the results! To be brutal but not hurtful I have not yet found a pre packed soil that I like the smell of enough to use it in my teas... Most have a very weak earthy smell... Just cannabis smelt the closest, but it looked like it was packed with slow release ferts so I didn't use it
  15. I like the liquid from green thumb, but the granules are pretty cheap and it's the same thing for the most part. Nice!! I need to eventually get around to making some.... My ladies love it when I give them alil milk to their diet... And I rate that's mostly part to the proteins... I like the results best from off milk, the more off, the better lol and that is due to some bacteria action happening partial lab brews hehe..
  16. There are a few off the top of my head... UV in late flower MPK boosters Fuck.... Stoned is kicking in and I can't remember any more lol. CO2 HST techniques Custom light timings with longer dark periods close to harvest Microscope to keep track of the Amber's so you harvest on the perfect day Temperature is the key, keep the Temps at a constant cool temperature with little fluctuations is best Gotta get that VPD right Im sure others can help out with others I may have skipped. Im also here for the best I can grow!! But damn finances just never play ball a d support my habit.... Uh, I mean hobby
  17. Perfect, you seem to be on top of your game so that's tops
  18. I think I may have listed the ingredients I use... But not what the American version of it is. Most important would be to read some of heisenbergs posts on some of the international forums... Your mind will be blown But if I had to give you the most basic ingredients, they would be. Humic acids - up to 5%of the tea mix, which is a fuck truckload.. I barely ever go above 0.001% of the mix or 20ml per 20l of water Molasses - a hearty table spoon full of unsulphated blackstrap mollasses *MUST be unsulphated Mycorrhizal fungi - mycoroot from Green thumb or Organics matter, about 20-30mls of the spore stones Heisenbergs recommends ancient Forrest compost as a good base for the tea, but iv found that any compost will suffice.... Even better is a cup of soil from a nearby Forrest and a cup from a different location, but also from under healthy growing plants. Another good add is EMProSoil from GThydro as it has a ton of microbes to add diversity to the brew. This stuff doesn't have a long shelf life, so I tend to use quite a bit each time, roughly 100mls And that's it!! Boom!! You can add other things like Kelpak Rock dust Oats Coffee beans Actual teabags(like one per 20l) Brown sugar And the list goes on and on!
  19. Very nice man!! I must point out that for soil, ideal pH is around 6.0 to 6.8 But your plants are looking good so I think the medium balances itself out for you... Lucky fish Do you have a pH pen and EC meter? I assume yes
  20. Hell yes you can!! Grow diaries are different to grow reports... Grow reports need to be done nicely so peeps can benifit from your experience... Also helps with identifying strains you want to grow. Diaries though... Are pretty much blogs... And the help ouens give when there are issues is remarkable! I saw you posted a diary!! Good on you man!
  21. A lot of guys have rolling dairies that don't end... Which is a cool thing to have to keep track of your grow... What do you use to keep track of your grows?
  22. You my friend, have never experienced cyanobacteria at its worst!! I used to be a meticulous res cleaner and kept my res as sparkly as I could and as sterile as I could!! Then I was silly... I told a friend that I can help her poor plant by sticking it in the res... So I washed the roots off nicely and put it in the res.... Boom... Within one week... I was crippled without hope of recovery. I scoured the net and got little info on what to do.... Mostly was advised to pack up... Buy new res buckets and move home lol. That's when I found out about Heisenberg tea. And it changed my life!! His brew is full of American additives that are not available in SA... So I researched like a mofo... Read up on every ingredient and found something similar in SA... Went out and bought the stuff, @GreenthumbHydro hooked me up with all that I needed, and so I started my journey with teas.... Within 3 days I was seeing signs of recovery, and within a week I was seeing new growth on all my DWC plants. Not only recovery.... Fuck booooi iv never seen growth like that before... It was amazing!!! But to answer your question.... I brew that 18l and it could probably be diluted to cover an entire hectare.... But I have played around and nowadays I go full strength... But quantity... Mmm I use a 250ml container to add tea to the buckets. And go one 250ml dose in a 30l DWC bucket. In the plants I have in coco, I went a full 1.5l per 20l Fibre pot and they loved it
  23. Shit son!!! Why haven't you got a diary up!? Plants are looking gawjus!!!
