Week 9 Update / Flower Week 3
There was an explosion of growth this week although the bud development seems to be a little behind. Don't know if it's the cold, or something else but it just seems a little more delayed than usual. There are definitive signs of flowering albeit slower on the bud development side. Besides that they look really healthy and full and I'm looking forward to seeing them bloom:

Welcome, welcome, step inside.. I'm sure you'll find info and advise about anything that you're into here... cannabis-related of course

Opinions on the 240w QB from Light It Up?
Those are solid lights. Like you I wanted to upgrade from shitty old tech lights and bit the bullet and bought a 240 QB from @Light It Up. They did such magic to my grow that I somma bought another one for my other tent. You won't be disappointed dude.

A little sneak peak - we're busy with it!
There have been some delays unfortunately but it's happening and is in progress.
Got some other things in the pipeline too
Awesome!! A little sneak peak of the pipeline maybe?

@CreX thanks for tagging us.
We have provided @Slartibarfast with the information he requested. We are in the process of making some custom PPFD maps and will publish this along with some additional information on our website once complete.
Since we include a dimmer, we will provide distances for different power levels as well and for different stages of growth.
Waiting in anticipation for this info

I thought the yellowing leaves would fall off but they are turning green again.

Lekka @Pants! Those girls look real happy now! I guess ventilation is overlooked because you can't see the air exchange but it's such a critical component of a grow op

Week 8 Update / Flower Week 2
Morning fam, this week was defol time for me to remove the lower stuff that won't make the cut (intentional lame pun ) and to give some light to the stragglers that just might push through to the tops. Last time I'm touching the leaves until much later.
Ms Organic is a beautiful steady growing plant. I followed the great advice of @Green Leaf Organics and was mindful of saturating all of the media to runoff and following up with another saturation 20min later. As predicted she looked a bit droopy initially but not too bad, she bounced back quickly and was soon up and about with more vigor than before. Pics to follow
All the ladies before defol:
Ladies immediately defol:
Some pics of what they currently look like:
Ms Organic getting a good soak and looking a little droopy:
But snapped out of it very quickly:
Have a great weekend!

I would just like to give a shout out to an artist that I think is currently creating the best cannabis strain art in south Africa.
I have had the privilege to have 4 strains commissioned so far and plan to do a lot more . Here some examples of his work and you can find him on Facebook and IG under Rheecemoonjava.art
Let's so some support for local amazing talent.
NB please note these images where commissioned for varies cultivators and the imagines remain the property of the cultivators , I have permission so share them as long as it's not for commercial use
Really really cool art! I love that he has a uniform style inherent in each image

@Green Leaf Organics @The Grass Baas @The_StonedTrooper
Thanks for all the advice guys, I wouldn't have thought much about saturating the complete media had this bit of insight crossed not crossed my path. I'll report back on my next watering

Hi bud looking good .
One slight thing I have noticed in your soil pot is that you never seem so saturate the medium . I may be wrong about this but it always seems like you just watering around the base of the plant . By doing this you are limiting root growth . You need to saturate the entire pot and then let the medium cycle through a wet dry cycle. As I said I may be wrong and I an just going off the pics shared . If you refine your watering in the soil you will have a largely increased yield as the tlroot ball will be much bigger .
Just my 2 cents
Thanks GLO, I normally take her out to water, I have a bucket with a grid and water until I can see runoff coming out of the pot. I haven't been focusing on where I'm watering though, so I'll take your advice and be mindful about trying to saturate all of the medium right through.

if anything towards your lesson.
you must always remember that hot air rises. so trying to expel the hot air from the bottom of your tent is gonna take a lot more effort than expelling it from the top of your tent.
bringing air in from the bottom of the tent makes sense because often, that is where the coolest air is, also, carbon dioxide sinks, but i think thats a much over muchness.
Exactly that, in my very limited knowledge of air flow dynamics I pictured the fresh cool air coming in from the top, sinking to the bottom and getting sucked out straight away without having the time to fill the tent with fresh goodness. Definitely not much of a muchness, the effect on the plants is dramatic. I think if left unchecked a improper ventilated system could prohibit growth and it would read like deficiencies.

Looking real good there bro. Your canopy training looks excellent and I am excited to see what the stretch will bring.
Thanks JS! Yea, it's going to be interesting to see if the stretch will be uniform amongst all 3 girls

Week 7 Update / Flower Week 1
All the ladies are doing well and they're busy pushing out their new green shoots so there is not too much to report on. I would like to share something that I've learnt the hard way though. For a week or 2 now these plants have had me scratching my head. They were starting to show signs of deficiencies that I couldn't explain. I changed my res, my PH wasn't the problem, temp wise I've sort of got it under control by having my lights on during the night so I couldn't understand what was happening and it was giving me sleepless nights . I eventually had a look at my ventilation set up and I realised that my intake was coming in from the top and my exhaust, or link to my other tent, is going out from the bottom. I swapped that around and in a matter of hours the plants started to get their colour back and slowly the deficiencies started diminishing, they're still getting there but a big swing for the better. I was shocked at what a big impact an incorrect air flow could have. Even though there was ventilation, just having it set up wrong caused havoc. Had to share, maybe someone could make use of my lesson learnt..
I also added a submersible heater to my res to keep those low temps at bay in the root zone.
So these are the girls as they are now:

That is a dominant trait that goes all they way back to the Afghani line Northern Lights, that also expresses frequently in the chocolope NL line, and would also express here. Sometimes it's just the leaflet, sometimes it's a bud too
That's really interesting, I'm going to let it be just to see what happens

Week 6 Update / Veg Week 5
I guess this is the last report before we need to flip to 12/12. I tried getting as much vegging and training done as I could and I hope I didn't put them through too much stress. This week consisted mostly of keeping the canopy flat (well, trying to) and mid-week defoliation before heading towards flower, except for the organic lady, I just let her be and her side growth has almost caught up to the topped growth so I'm happy about that. All in all I think I'm okay with going into flower.
Before defoliation:
T1 - Alyssa:
T2 - Amy:
After defoliation and a little more training:
T1 - Alyssa (sadly couldn't save the one stem and it needed to come off ):
T2 - Amy:
The girls are now:
T1 - Alyssa:
T2 - Amy:
T3 - Janis:
Current tent view - @The_StonedTrooper's clones will have to be shifted around between outside and tent to stay in veg while I wait for my other tent to finish up :
Have a great weekend fam, good luck all with the next stage of our adventure
