I use 1.2x1.2 trays and if I have run off, I just drop a few sponges in the tray and remove after a few minutes. No need to raise the tray to drain and picking up the sponges isn't really hard work ^^ If you put a slight angle on the tray, one sponge per corner will do the trick. Just angle to where you can easy access.
That's a cool hack, nice one!

Week 16 Update / Flower Week 10
I've changed my mind on who to bring forward. The tall, strong and beautiful T2 has grown on me. He flowers are so colorful and resinous, she has really astounded me. Also realised I don't have a clone of her for some reason so I monstercropped one of the budlets on the the lower growth, really hope I can get something rooted of this baby
I'm hoping to give these girls the axe the weekend, trichomes will tell closer to the time though. They could easily go a lot longer but I don't enjoy the effect of a belated harvest even though that's when they pack on the pounds.
With bringing T2 to the sacrificial judgment altar I went ahead and started trimming the fans off T1 and T3 getting them harvest ready and letting them buds soak up as many rays as they can until D-Day..
Caution: barrage of photos below:

Getting there but still needs time

Clear trichs still prevalent

You know all about it when you buy bud box. That tent weighs 4 x a normal tent maybe more. Good solid kit.
Tell me about it, it's kak heavy

Looking good!
How big are those pots? They look huge, but then not so big compared to the multiplug. For some reason my sense of scale always gets messed up when I'm looking at plants in a tent.
Those are 20l fabric pots

Nice socks dude
Can't see properly but it almost looks like the pots are only half filled?

So I received some beautiful clones a while back from @The_StonedTrooper and have been nurturing them into submission ever since . At the time I was in between tents I had to make a makeshift plan but, alas, they ended up starting to bloom on me so it has been a bit of a revegging session as well. But they're all trained, trimmed and ready to rock and roll now .
Keen to test out my new BudBox so they will be the first ladies in that new flower tent. I'll give them a week or 2 to recover from the trimming and to administer some IPM before heading into flower. It'll also give me some time to se the new tent up after the comp tent is free to move that out of the way, I have a hydro setup in there so it's not practical to move around.
Okay here goes...
Strains:
- Dirty Banana
- Crescendo
- Gorilla Glue
Next I potted them in 20L fabric pots with Freedom Farms Premium Classic soil and added some Mycoroot to the holes:
Cleaned them up and did some LST:
Vegged/Revegged them for a while until they were healthy:
Did a big defoliation and adjusted the LST a bit:
Now we wait for recovery and for me to finish my new setup...

Those plants, got fried bad, and my very first grow too.
Was the Jack HERER with GSC before the UV
Ouch, that must've been a heartbreaker man!

Give it a bash and document it here, even if it doesn't work for your grow it's still a handy gadget to have around

What does it do to your plants though? As far as I know the UVC damages DNA which is how it kills the pathogen but does it not also destroy the plant's DNA?

Hi all, this is my first grow so please bear with me if I need an extraordinary amount of guidance
Here are the main details.
- Strains: Dinamed Kush and UK Cheese (both autos)
- Space: Outdoor on my apartment balcony (north facing)
- Medium: FF Premium Classic Soil
- Nutrients: Bio-Bizz Grow, Bio-Bizz Bloom, Seagro, Kelpak, Wurmbosch worm castings (I won't necessarily use all of these nutrients, but I have them at my disposal)
- Pots: 2 x 9l plastic pots and 2 x 10l FF fabric pots. I'm planning to grow one seed from each strain in each type of pot (for science). I know these pots are on the smaller side, but I don't mind if my plants are a little small.
- Extra stuff: A soil PH and moisture reader, which probably won't be necessary since I'm using living soil.
I'm realising now that I planted my seeds a couple weeks early, but oh well. I put them in peat plugs a 4 days ago and was concerned that I hadn't seen any signs of germination yet. This probably wasn't the best idea but I was impatient this morning and gently removed a little soil from the plugs with a chopstick this morning. I see signs of life in 3/4 seeds so far. They were surprisingly deep in there! Will post some photos in the next day or two once they're peeking out of the soil.
So my first question: Should I wait until they're a certain size before I get them outside an into their pots, or is sooner better?
And second question: When preparing the pots should I add anything to the FF Premium Classic Soil? I'm planning to add a sprinkling of red clover seeds as a companion, and am considering adding a small amount of diatomaceous earth to the mix, mainly because I have some and I don't think it could hurt. I also have worm castings available but I'm cautious of adding nutrients at the start because I know the soil already has what the plants need for the first few weeks.
I would keep the peat pellets in a dome (if you have one) until they germinate, then I'd fill the pot with just FF soil and put the pellet into a hole with some Mycoroot at the bottom. Don't add any other nutrients and don't overwater. You're going to have to be extra careful because you're in your final pot and it's easy to misjudge the watering, especially when they're babies. Good luck and welcome to the club

I'll check at home, but this is the BudBox I ordered so I don't think there'll be anything broken

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone!
I'll definitely be posting some pics soon. Will probably start a grow diary as soon as these seeds sprout
On that note - it's been almost 3 days since I put them in the peat pellets. I made a small blunder and didn't use warm water when preparing the pellets.. hopefully that doesn't significantly reduce the likelihood of germination.
Nah, they should be okay just give them a little more time. Did you soak them in water before putting them into the pellet?

My understanding as well, so according to how I normally count the days of flower is (from first day of pistils not 12/12 )10 weeks would be on point for this lady
...and a beautiful lady at that, kudos man

So today is due day
Would definitely benefit from another week of flower, fade is only starting to happen now, and she needs a good flush
what do you guys think? From what I understand is that if you flipped before the 3 July you're allowed to flower your plants until you're happy

Week 17 Update / Flower Week 11 / Harvest
Thanks to 420sa fam for this experience. Being a part of this competition has pushed me to be better and pushed my hardware budget also
Thanks to everyone involved and thank you all for allowing me to enter late. Overall I'm pretty happy with the result even with the 16 day handicap.
This girl stole my heart right at the end with her colour and vigor.
So the time of reckoning is upon us (or me).. I bring forth Tortoni #2 for your judgment and viewing pleasure..
