    Howsit bro!

I have used a mammoth tent in the past, a small one, quality is pretty decent but mine also had some light leaks on the zipper. If you properly line up the zipper strip in the inside(not sure if you know what i am referring too) then it solves the issue. Didn't really come with any extras either.

I have recently bought a mars hydro tent, I see they have a new version available which is the one I got. I love this tent. Feels super solid and much better than the Mammoth.

When I was looking I was deciding between, Mammoth, Mars and Secret Jardin and BudBox

SJ was too expensive for me so I went with Mars over the mammoth as the Mars had extra height. I am so glad I went with the new spec Mars tent, I really love it.

Came with 2 floor liners(Don't know if I just got lucky), a patch repair kit and a hangable pouch for inside the tent and some awesome stickers lol

I also like that the mars has metal connectors vs the plastic ones that come with the mammoth.

I have no advice on the budbox though, was also an option for me but could not get any solid recommendations so decided against taking a chance.

This is great info also, so it basically this is going to come down to the minor difference of the 2 tents then seeing that the build quality on both is pretty good.

@The_StonedTrooper and @PsyCLown, they claim the white reflective of the BudBox runs cooler than conventional mylar, have you noticed this at all with your tents?

  2. Thanks guys, I was leaning more towards the BudBox and it's cool to get some confirmation. I was looking at the Secret Jardin and but I couldn't justify the price vs the actual difference between the other tents.

  3. Hey guys! I'm looking to upgrade my flower tent because I'm a little concerned about the material letting in pinhole lights and light coming in through the seams/zips. They were bought from Green Thumb Hydro a while ago and they are now overdue for an upgrade. I honestly don't think they were the best quality to start off with but it got me through boot camp. I'll still keep the 1 to veg and the other to dry but I'm looking for a decent flower tent.

After a little research and browsing I've narrowed it down to a choice of 2. Are these choices any good and does anyone have any experience or insights they could share?

    1. BudBox PRO White XXL (1.2m x 2.4m x 2m)

    2. Mars Grow Tent (1.2m x 2.4m x 2m)

  4. Week 12 Update / Flower Week 6

There's not much to report on this week. It has been  really cold lately and the girls looked slightly stressed, except Ms Organic, she definitely took it a lot better than the other 2, she didn't even show the slightest sign of stress. Got a few buds on the leaves  even some on fan leaf stems. Other than that everything seems to be going okay. Serious stretch on T2 though, I'm contemplating supercropping the long branches 🤔

  5. Yea, we can collectively set parameters that I would adhere to, even if it is a different set for each soil. I can then collect as much data as I can throughout the grow and record specific measurables

    Hey Fam,

Hope you all are well today, peace and blessings to you all.

Many of you may already know, that I am in partnership with a very close and good friend, and are building an Eastern Cape (PE) based craft cannabis company, that for a while, and for now, has been making a organic living soil, that you all have seen me using for a while now, all without and or very little input other that water.

Now for me, it would be easy to run a side by side, and compare and give actual honest and transparent feedback, although I still feel this wouldnt be fair and not at all right in terms of who I am as a person.

I've spoken to @donnob and he has agreed to the following...

I will give him the sample soil of @Thrive and the same size sample soil of mine.

Donate 2 or 3 of the same clones, pheno and size. These will be rooted in my soil, on its second run, in small pots.

It will be up to @donnobto decide if he will run 2 or 3 and purchase another brand of soil, one which the forum could decide on together, probably FF green bag, and he can, when the grow off is done.

    Do this side by side?

How do we feel and vote on this family...

    You know my vote 🤣

I'm ecstatic about doing this and I think it would yield invaluable information.

  7. Hey @Martin7318, welcome to our glorious family! Plenty of mistakes have already been made on your behalf so just plug in and play.

I may need some convincing to spend the extra R70 on a bag haha.

By the time you're convinced you'd have spent well over R70 and lost valuable grow time in tried and tested soil. The medium is where you can't skimp and have to give that extra attention because at the end of the day that is literally the lifeblood of your magic plant. In the grand scheme of things, a good soil will give you a happier plant and a happier plant will give you a bigger yield, a difference in yield worth way more than R70 😉

Still having fun this side and the differences in the phenos are getting accentuated now. From the wispy thin sativa-ish leaves of T1, to the tall and vigorous T2 and the short and stocky T3.

Fo sho. Think I went to 15 koppies between 96 and about 08. Best times ever.

We were about 15 people from the roadblock sharing a piss stained cell in Northam that Thursday night. Swapping stories and having a raucous time. Quick swing by Brits court, R500 admission of guilt and I was baked at koppie by lunch that Friday

Brilliant!  exactly what koppi was, crazy experiences and the most awesome likeminded strangers congregated in buttfuck nowhere stumbling around looking for their tents in a haze of smoke and dust 😂. The music, the people, the hype, the venue, it was all just really good times we'll never see the likes of again.

Sound alike a trip to oppikoppi I had about 20 years ago. One night In the tjoekie, drop by the court. R500 fine and on to the festival. Which had a extra level on it that time

That sounds like a koppi you'll never forget! We probably went to the same Koppi if it was around that time, that was the time Oppikoppi was still Oppikoppi. Hack your way through veld to make your campsite, good times, never missed a year :-hilarious

  11. Week 10 Update / Flower Week 4

It has been a joy opening the tent every day to find something new. It also really cool to see that all 3 plants are very different.

    The hydro girls

They love to eat and drink, they're loving their EC a little higher now during flower between 1.8-2 seems to be golden. Anything less and they go pale green, anything more and the tips burn a little. These plants grow like crazy, thick thick stems with older fans much bigger than my hand.

    Ms Organic

Classic and dainty, she grows out perfectly with beautiful buds. If she were a person she'd be calm, collected and walk with class and grace.

  12. I also run my lights at night and I was trying to suss out if there is a correlation between the light cycles and some plants starting to show bloom a little later than others?

Looking good , loving the side by side between organic and hydro . That organic plant is looking extremely happy. The organic one has better bud development but smaller ,  Looks like you have a nice indica dominant baby there . How's the watering style change working out for you ?

Ms Organic stole my heart from the beginning 😂 but ya, her buds are looking beautiful. I'm glad I have a copy

The watering works amazingly well, no more drooping of leaves afterwards and she loves the soak.

Thanks @mantis, yea I know, they are little behind on the bud development side, which is weird and it's been bugging me as well. After my update they have eventually begun to show bud sites, I'll post a pic if I get in there early enough tomorrow morning

Could be pH too definitely, but signs of magnesium

If there's already a PH lockout adding Mg might not help until it's sorted. Are you using RO water?
