  1. Week 15 Update / Flower Week 9

Had some PM creep in in a few spots and decided to use PapaJ's KHCO3 and it seems to have been effective, I realise it will rear it's ugly head again but I hope to keep it under control until harvest. So far so good... 🤞

Also made a 2x rookie mistakes this past week in the hydro res and it could come back to haunt me, 1) I bought the wrong Micro for my water. I use RO water but bought the hard water Micro which has less cal/mag in, caught it in the end and countered with CalMag, 2) On top of that I swapped the Micro and Grow dosages and only realised 10 days later. Eish, I guess it is what it is. I did a flush with FlashKleen over the weekend and changed the res to Ripen.

The ladies are doing good overall and I think it's the last little dash to the finish line. T3 has had such a good run though. If the end result is as good as she grows I'd love to do a grow of just her and be able to get the light where I need it. The hydro ladies are still going to need some time to finish off but again, T2 is such a strong plant she has big node spacing but if you could concentrate your efforts into just her needs she could easily stack those spaces.

Enough rant, let's get to it:

    I have a 1,5 x 1,5 BUD Box Pro, a Secret Jardin 160 Lodge and a Mars Hydro 60cmx1,2m.
My bud box is amazing especially because it has side windows, so unlike the others, you can partially open and access the inside without unzipping the entire frikkin tent. This is my major gripe about the SJ and Mars. ( in fairness they were cheaper)
The Mars was bought just as a drying tent and I must say I’m impressed with the build quality.
The bud box was replaced under warranty as the main front zip broke during my first grow. The supplier was very good about it and swapped it for a new one.
The replacement is on its second grow and the main front zip on the new one is also a bit iffy so I mostly avoid unzipping it completely.
I can’t speak to light leaks since my room is pitch black and I grow auto’s.
Overall I really like the bud box pro, love the white interior and the side access windows.

Thanks man, this seems to be the general consensus all around.. the Mars is a solidly built tent but the BudBox reigns champ

Not sure how much space you have, but there is a 2nd hand 2.4 x 2.4 Budbox tent up for sale in the classified at a really good price.

Yea I saw that, bummer it's too wide for me. I have a 3m x 3m space and I also want to keep my other 2 tents for vegging and drying, but that is a good deal though

We're inching closer to the finish line but still a fair way off, T3 will definitely be first in line although she is also been pushing out new flowers recently:

@donnob, hows some more pics of the hydro lady? sounds like she is doing a similar thing my lady is doing.... and one pic

my plant seems to want to reveg or something but shes going strong, but will flower long

No probs man, I did a big defol on them a few nights ago, it was just getting too leafy in there. I've got 3 distinctly different plants in the making here...

T1, this is the pheno I think looks like yours:

  6. The only real benefit I see is if they take onus upon themselves to replace any seed that doesn't germinate, sort of like an insurance policy. Otherwise, popping seeds is all part of the adventure. At that price tag you could just buy more seeds instead of the service and even the inexperienced should be able to get sprouting

  7. The only way to counter that as a small guy would be to grow the dankest bud that everybody wants a piece of and sell it boutique style. Commercialization comes with uniformity and meh-ness. As a small time grower you would have the ability to focus on the finer details and not on scale, outclassing big commerce. Grow the best damn niche shit you can and put the utmost focus on absolute quality so that you can have people banging on your door for more.  My :-2cents

  8. Week 13 Update / Flower Week 7

I still got some vertical growth from T2 this week so I had to super crop the 2 long stems to at least be a little shorter. I didn't want to lift my light any more because of the other 2 shorter girls. She seems to be going strong after that which I'm happy for. No end in sight for the 2 hydro girls, looks like they're going to flowering for a while. Ms Organic is going along nicely as well. Getting nice delicous smelling plump buds and she is still just as short and stocky

  9. @The Grass Baas we were at the same show 😅 I managed to score Kirk Hammet's pick that day, also remember that the power tripped half way through Collective Soul's set and that the beer ran out before darkness hit 😆. Did you go to the coke fest after that with Muse and Korn, etc? And Iron Maiden when they were here?

  11. Back in the day I used to be in a band called Suck Like Malcolm and we used to play with likes of Pestroy and Wickhead, The Narrow, etc. Koppis were an annual thing until I became too commercial to enjoy. I remember 16Stitch also, was always in awe of 2 bassists in one band 🤣

Thanks for the comments guys, definitely been an exciting 2 days now. All 3 looking pretty good, only the 1 with some pretty sad looking first leaves. I'm wondering if the Evironoc did that to them, possibly got some on the leaves while watering. I don't know. New growth looks healthy so I'm not concerned about it any more.

    Here's to a new week! 🤘😁🤘

Have fun endlessly staring at your younglings wondering what else you can do to make it better 🤣. Patience is born...

@donnob I have not really looked to see whether there is any difference in temps between the Budbox and Mammoth tent.

The Budbox comes with metal corners and the polesall clip and lock into place - very nice and easy to setup and the poles are powder coated black and are thicker than what the Mammoth and Secret Jardin came with.

I have seen the Pinelab tents for sale, but recall them being really expensive. Would be curious as to how they compare to a Budbox for instance. Never seen one in person.

The things which frustrate me on my Budbox are mainly the pull ties, it is not as easy to pull them as the one material seems to be a grippy material. Not the end of the world as it is not something I adjust often.

Then the zip to open the right side completely can be a bit frustrating to work with - I see there is a metal zip version and a plastic zip version. The plastic zip version is easier to work with compared to the metal zip version. When I say frustrating to work with, to unzip is easy and to zip up is easy, it is aligning both sides of the tent to be able to start zipping it up. For some reason the plastic zip is just easier to get aligned.

The price is pretty steep for the PineLabs and I think the shipping threw me off a little too even though it seems minor in the bigger scheme of things. It's like you're already groaning about the big investment but you're still all in and wiling to bite the bullet but then they smash you with a shipping that just pushes your mind into a different direction, "the straw that broke the camel's back" scenario.

I understand the quality of the PineLabs looks amazing but I think I should be aiming for a good all-rounder and bang for buck is part of that criteria for me. The BudBox looks like good value for money, despite the little nuances that piss you off 🤣
