Here's a thorough scientific look at it. A commercial farmer isnt the right place to ask questions about gravity or spacial bodies...

While this paper doesnt address planting by the moon directly, it goes and delves deeper into the actual observed interactions

Lunisolar tidal force and the growth of plant roots, and some other of its effects on plant movements

    It's a long paper

    First clip

    Abstract

    Background

Correlative evidence has often suggested that the lunisolar tidal force, to which the Sun contributes 30 % and the Moon 60 % of the combined gravitational acceleration, regulates a number of features of plant growth upon Earth. The time scales of the effects studied have ranged from the lunar day, with a period of approx. 24·8 h, to longer, monthly or seasonal variations.

    Scope

We review evidence for a lunar involvement with plant growth. In particular, we describe experimental observations which indicate a putative lunar-based relationship with the rate of elongation of roots of Arabidopsis thaliana maintained in constant light. The evidence suggests that there may be continuous modulation of root elongation growth by the lunisolar tidal force. In order to provide further supportive evidence for a more general hypothesis of a lunisolar regulation of growth, we highlight similarly suggestive evidence from the time courses of (a) bean leaf movements obtained from kymographic observations; (b) dilatation cycles of tree stems obtained from dendrograms; and (c) the diurnal changes of wood–water relationships in a living tree obtained by reflectometry.

    Conclusions

At present, the evidence for a lunar or a lunisolar influence on root growth or, indeed, on any other plant system, is correlative, and therefore circumstantial. Although it is not possible to alter the lunisolar gravitational force experienced by living organisms on Earth, it is possible to predict how this putative lunisolar influence will vary at times in the near future. This may offer ways of testing predictions about possible Moon–plant relationships. As for a hypothesis about how the three-body system of Earth–Sun–Moon could interact with biological systems to produce a specific growth response, this remains a challenge for the future. Plant growth responses are mainly brought about by differential movement of water across protoplasmic membranes in conjunction with water movement in the super-symplasm. It may be in this realm of water movements, or even in the physical forms which water adopts within cells, that the lunisolar tidal force has an impact upon living growth systems.

I'll read this as soon as i get done with the morning chaos. Thank you for your thoughtful reply.

Haha ok, when I talk about vape I am referring to vapes which take dry herb.

Although nothing wrong with pens which take cartridges, but never tried that myself to be honest.

lol! I've tried neither,  hoping the order arrives on Friday so i can give it a whirl.

Edit: whats the dry herb vape like? I

Howzit bro. Yeah in theres alot of back and forth with training Autos.

My first grow. I let her just grow. On the 2nd grow now. And decided to LST 1 auto and let the other 2 grow. So that i could compare the grows.

As mentioned above. Autos start pre flowering early.

However another member is growing some autos and doing some topping.

@SoloKush. Im waiting to see how his plants turn out. To get an idea.

The 2 autos i started for the experiement were started the same time.

Normal grow is into flowering already. I only did a defoil.

The lst grow is barely starting pre-flower.

Same genetics. Not sure if the lst slowed it down.

Pics 1 and 2 is the LST

Pics 3 and 4 is the normal grow.

    Started same time.

Thanks for the response. I'v e got another week to do the research. i am leaning toward LST for 3 of the 4 and topping one, just to see what happens. I have topped photos in the past with good results .image.png.9aa14505dd7771718f376b9352288de1.png

  4. Thanks for the replies dudes, @Roasty and @PsyCLown

I just read on the Royal Queen Seed page that Amnesia Haze automatic does lend itself to topping.

    https://www.royalqueenseeds.com/blog-can-topping-and-training-be-used-on-autoflowering-marijuana-n387

I just popped an AH from Victory seeds, I'll see how she develops over the next 10 days and make a decision based on how the seedling performs. These are the first automatic plants I've ever grown/seen. LOL!🤣

Thanks again for the contributions. This forum has some solid members willing to share the knowledge. RESPECT!!

  5. I've done a fair amount of reading into training autos for MAX yield with these  short duration plants. There are loads of vids and documents covering this topic, but there seems to be conflicting opinion particularly in the newwer information when it comes to topping Autos. Some say topping shouldn't be used with autos, but others seem to think it is fine. Whats the deal?

What methods have you tried? What has worked for you?

  6. My humble experience. I don't do the vape thing at all, so only joints/blunts and edibles. My partner had never experienced cannabis when we met. She was interested, but didn't want to smoke as she is a serious long distance runner. So one Saturday morning i made some canna-butter and proceeded to whip up a batch of french toast with crispy bacon and honey. GREAT IDEA, i thought... Wrong, the meal was potent! and she had a really hard time. It took months before she was prepared to try again. I feel that if she had just had a few hits then like she does now, it is easier to feel out how baked she's getting '. Eds are difficult to dose, especially if you don't know what the content is. Guess the same goes for vapes, you can control how baked you're getting. Cool topic, i hope to read more peoples ecxperience.

  7. Coming together slowly. I'm now stuck on the ventilation component, but I have time this afternoon to do some reading. If any of you have a good link or two to share, I'd be most appreciative.  Thanks for all the assistance and advice so far! This community is very different to the 'various FB pages I look at.

  8. Greetings growers of every creed,

I am looking for an affordable 150mm 6” Desk & Tent Clip Fan in jhb. I am aware there are suppliers in other regions who have them, but my desire to pay more courier fee's is waning.

    • Do you know of any Jozi based suppliers who have these items in stock?
    • Any alternative item you would recommend for a 1m x 1m tent? I'm not keen on a rechargeable unit.

    Thanks in advance

    Felix.
