  1. Micropropagation is super effective in a lab environment. Without that environment it comes with a plethora of issues. Before media you need to have all the required equipment... How far are you with getting these items? What have you got right now? I have tried in a SAB but I only grew contams. I've also tried with a flow hood in a "clean room with some success, but it wasn't worth the effort other than trying something new.

Looking forward to seeing the updates here, coincides nicely with my own auto grow :-trip

With LST what i'm thinking of doing with mine is LST half of them and leave the others untouched to compare them at the end, you could try something like that if it sounds good. From what i've read LST works better with some strains and not so much with others, but there's a lot of conflicting information and very little strain specific information so i don't know for certain, another thing i've read is where they use LST only ONCE, pulling down the main stem and leaving it at that, which is what i'm thinking of doing.

My experience was that the lst work is never over. It's a daily affair because the plants move quickly

  3. I have been breeding ornamental flowering species, Clivia in particular for the last 12years. My mantra has ALWAYS been, start with the best you can afford. Buy fewer better quality plants/crosses for higher likely hood of hitting that genetic combination for desirable outcomes. Using this methodology fits to any breeding programs, be it dogs, cats, Kudu you name it.  So yes, odds are dramatically improved because our local breeders are starting with top shelf parent plants released by breeders with a long heritage in the industry. This is not the end of it though, it also comes down to the breeders ability to weed[lol] out the desirable phenotypes to move forward with. That ability is only really  developed by spending loads of the seriously passionate breeders time. I will be supporting the local cats in future for sure.

I would say yes, a 1x1 isn't small. You should exchange the air about 6 times a minute.. and with proper ventilation, your chance to run into PM is way lower. Just check your dark times when the air cools down and releases the stored moisture. When the lamps are on, you fight usually more with temperature. You might want fans you can change the speed and just let em run on half. Uses about same energy with two, but you have a decent flow in and out.

My IN side, i use both air streams to vent the plants, one high, directable, one low entry. Both have HEPA filters on the intake.

2 OUT. One with carbon filter goes outside the flat, the other goes to the climat room to get cooked again.

Hey @Prom thanks for the pic's dude, they offer everything need. Muchos Dank-ies.

It should work to move air out of the tent as the pressure builds up. If you turn your fan onto the fastest setting and go feel the other end of the exhaust ducting, you should feel a bit of a breeze.

I will be running fans for intake and exhaust though as I have filters on both fans - intake filter to keep the dust and such out and then carbon filter on exhaust fan to keep the smell at bay. If you are unhappy with the way it is currently working, then consider another fan for the exhaust.

    What size tent is that?

Dude! Thanks for your assistance, I appreciate your time. Guess there is a second fan my future.

I like that water tray thing you have in your tent, what is it and where'd you get it from?

So the air in take is from outside (literally), you have a filter there to ensure no bugs and dust get into your tent from outside? The airintake goes into the top of the tent?

    6" fan with 4" ducting?

Then at the bottom I see some more, larger ducting - this is to get the air out your tent and there is no fan connected? So working on the positive pressure build up in the tent to exhaust air out of your tent?

Thank you for your reply @PsyCLown the plastic tray on the floor I got from GTHydro. It was quite dear, but worth it for the long run.

The fan runs a 6inch duct into the top of tent. The larger ducting on the bottom left is 150mm which I want to function as the exhaust. The plan was positive pressure to do this ,but i'm not sure if this will work. Do I need to add a fan the to the exhaust? This space also has a 110mm hole at knee height that can be use to push "used air" out of the space to the outdoors.

    Thanks Again.

  7. I realise now that I could use with some advice please. This is where I'm at..

    1) fan with filter and silencer.

    2) through the wall into top of tent.

    3) exhaust Duct 20cm(or there about) into garage. Or I've put a 110mm hole through the wall at knee height. The original plan was to use a smaller duct to exhaust straight out of the space...But, I don't think the 110mm Duct can handle the amount of air the fan is pumping in even on its lowest setting.

    4) I'm trying to make it super tidy in a less is more way. Lol.

    ___________

I've not bought any of the equipment in these images, so I've got budget should I need a second fan. As above and always, your advise, crit, opinion and guidance is always appreciated.

I live with China parts and a tupperware box 😂 2 ventilation setup, one in, one out for each. The box handles 4 6inch inliners.

Tent was dark when i took the picture.. but still easy to read. Humidity handling inside the tent. Temp i cook outside the tent. The humidity handling inside is only to not run into PM issues. I avoid anything over 60% during flower on the inside.

I don't think I can do this with my 1m² tent. I've upgraded to a HIT Centrifugal fan blasting fresh air in from outside, and using the positive pressure to exhaust(also outside). should I be considering a second HIT fan for the exhaust?

I have one like those, it just sits and does its thing.

But my pride and joy is Sonoff Th16 switch I think it is. You can connect it to a heater and it has a probe that measure temperature and humidity, So you can actually regulate a desired temperature or humidity through this nifty WIFI switch. (depending on what you connect it too)

Available at Communica... Thanks to this forum.

Thanks man. I'll look into it.

I have the below unit which I purchased last year. I used for this last auto grow which turned out okay, but there is room for improvement.  On the whole this unit seems a little flimsy and I'm not sure if it is accurate . Is there any way to test its accuracy? I have some super fire genes coming from the some friends in the USA, so for the the next two months I am going on a mission to get my tent dialed in to perfect parameters for the cultivation of these wonderful plants. I don't have an issue spending some tin(within reason), provided it is going to further me on my quest for the perfect environment.  What are you using in your tents? What product would you spend on if you had the means?

Yeah, does not seem right... Might infact be a photoperiod.

Not unheard of or all that uncommon. I have personally purchased autoflower seeds and ended up with photoperiods and so have a few others, or a mix of photoperiods and autos.

It could come down to genetics and breeding, or as simple as the seeds getting mixed up.

Put it on 12/12 and force it to show? Surely 8 weeks for a photo is also a long time to show sex?
