  1. So I decided to measure the differences between the 240w and my 2 x 75w @growopz lights that I have rigged up. Bearing in mind I'm using a phone app 500mm under the centre of the lights. Not accurate but a guideline. First 2 pics the 240w. Pic 3 & 4 the 75w's. I dialled the 240w down to 140w and measured in the cabinet so reflection from the walls help. Not sure. The 75w's are dialled in at 130w - 140w and no reflecting walls. So if anything the two lights are on par with the 240w slightly ahead. Let's see how the plants like them. I'll keep you all updated.
  2. They were thirsty. I read somewhere the seed has all it needs to get through the first couple of weeks food/nutrient wise. Seeing that I plant directly into a 10l pot I try and do as little as possible and let the plant tell me when it's thirsty. Sunday will be day 1 of veg stage and flip to flower 29 june working on 70 day flower time. So from Sunday everything changes. I usually water round the edge of the pot mainly using the knuckle test which should be every 3-4 days in my cabinet. I do prefer under watering than to much. Feeding I'm not sure about. Got a bottle of Seagrow sitting on the shelf ???? Training I've got a week or two to see if I can learn an easy method watching other grows. Probably gonna stick with bog standard LST. 3. Great community. I keep passing it forward as much as I can out here on the West Coast. Sent from my LM-X210(G) using Tapatalk
  4. Yeah. The first two weeks I don't give much water as I find the jiffy retains enough moisture for the seedling once it's in the soil. From this weekend I'll be watering the way you mentioned not only to encourage the roots to spread but to also minimize the risk of drowning the roots seen I've planted directly into the final pot. Thanks for the heads up as it's useful info in case someone didn't know about it or forgot. Sent from my DRA-LX5 using Tapatalk
  5. Pic's of the little girls. Giving them a little water round the base every other day. Sent from my DRA-LX5 using Tapatalk
  6. Almost reaching the end of seedling stage for me. I've given 2 weeks for the plants to do their own thing and sometime this weekend will be day 1 of veg. I seem to be one of the lucky one's that have had minimal stretch. The @Light It Up light is 600mm above @Totemic genetics and dialled down to 160w. Using various apps on two phones I am averaging what I think are good numbers on not so precise instruments. DLI - 27 PPFD - 390 Lux - 23 Having problems uploading pics out in the bush today. I'll try again later.
  7. Nice little tutorial. For us newbies every bit of info helps. I say newbie because I'm new to indoor (lockdown grower) but I have been growing outdoor for some time. Some may agree with what you say or disagree but there is useful information for people to sort through and make their own decisions. Nice, big up and keep spreading the info.[emoji109] Sent from my LM-X210(G) using Tapatalk

  9. Thanks man. Thanks to@Totemic for letting me grow this although I must admit I am still in the learning stage. This was a late plant in small pots and I still can't get over how easy the trim was. I might have a couple of seeds left which I'll put into bigger pots come spring and try some training. 10. Got soil ready and a better area cleared in the shade house waiting for spring. 10l pots this time.[emoji16] Sent from my LM-X210(G) using Tapatalk
  11. I thought that was gonna be a problem but this light is unbelievably balanced. Now that you mention it though I think a couple more ratchet ropes is a good idea. Sent from my LM-X210(G) using Tapatalk
  12. Nifty little brackets slide into the heatsink for easy hanging. Unfortunately this is where I find out the hanging wires are missing. Damn. Plan made and light hanging nice and neat with minimal wiring in the cabinet. A power meter finishes off the light. So. I've you what the website says. I've given you what I got. All that's left is to put plants under them and keep you all updated. I'm sure I've missed one or two points I was thinking of mentioning but 'Then I got stoned'. Ah yes. The one point is that @Light It Up is busy with the making of a PPFD map.
  13. Man I suck at this editing. Sent from my LM-X210(G) using Tapatalk
  14. I've unpacked the light and all seems fine, no scratches or dings. The light comes wired for those like me who are electrically challenged which is a bonus. A 3m cable to the light allows you to place the driver in a position of your choice. The heat sink has a raised edge on the diode side for that added protection in case of mishaps.
  15. Just shy of week 16 I've decided it's time to start chopping. The ladies were not gonna survive the next round Mother Nature was sending our way. Decided to do a wet trim which gave me an opportunity to double check for bud rot as these buds are tight man. This little 3l pot grow produced the perfect plant to trim. Easy to hold between buds, hardly any sticky fingers and one very easy trim. Sorry about the bombardment of pics. So many to choose from. Some with flash on and some no flash.
  16. Just a quick peek. Day 7ish and all 3 pretty uniform for now.
  17. I say add 5 points due to someone noticing@Totemic dropping the odd clue here and there. He dropped a valuable one the other day concerning light distance. Sent from my DRA-LX5 using Tapatalk

  19. Time to open the box. My editing seems to be pic first then the writing. The parcel got delivered to a family member due to logistics and unfortunately I cannot say if it was courier damaged or after. Wherever or however it got damaged has exposed a weak point in the packaging which I'm sure @Light It Up will look into and rectify. I'm hoping all's OK inside. Once opened there is a thick layer of bubble wrap. Feeling better.Next is a layer of the electronic parts of the light all snug in bubble wrap some of which I removed to take the photo. Sorry about the bits and pieces of info, duty calls, I'll be back shortly.

  21. Are you Cape Town side@Pants ? If so, maybe we can add one of my 75's for the duration of the comp. Or a 300w blurple, probably only 100w max. Sent from my LM-X210(G) using Tapatalk
  22. I agree but must add@growopz is also doing some great stuff price wise. The one imports, assembles and supplies. I'm happy, takes the hassle out off me having to import. The other imports, builds and supplies. Also happy. Supporting two local suppliers. Happy. Sent from my LM-X210(G) using Tapatalk

  24. Howzit Chef. Curious as to what height you at and how many watts you dialled into? Trying to learn and understand a bit more about lighting. Sent from my LM-X210(G) using Tapatalk
  25. So I have recently received a loan light with the option to buy for the @420SA grow off courtesy of @Light It Up with no strings attached. The generosity and kindness on this forum is second to none. I'm what you can consider a lockdown grower so i am pretty new to the indoor game. It started off with a jug of homebrew moonshine, a cabinet and a 9w LED lead light. Next step was 200 odd watts of CFL's and 3 shelving units converted into a grow cabinet. Needless to say the hunt was soon on for LED's but lockdown and no money proved a bit of a challenge. Saving the pennies and MW driver I happened to have it wasn't long before I had a decent light. And now I have a light that is ideal for my flower cabinet thanks to @Light It Up. So I started my research. This is the image available and info given on the website. Description The 240W Quantum Board LED Grow Light lets you grow what you love all year round. This product ensures that your seedlings and plants receive all the necessary light they require to perform photosynthesis regardless of the season, converting the light they capture into sugars necessary for growth. Do not exceed 240W as this may cause damage to the light. TOP FEATURES High efficiency warm white light quantum board Full-spectrum for better yield and results Reliable passive-cooled design Better canopy light penetration with diffused light Ideal for veg and bloom Dimmable power supply included High intensity and even coverage in a grow tent or room Less energy consumption Lifespan of 50 000 hours plus Warranty: 1 year on board | 5 years on driver PRODUCT SPECIFICATIONS Samsung LED LM301B | 2 x QB288 V2 Power: 240W South African three-point plug Spectrum: 3500K Voltage Range: 90-277VAC Meanwell Driver XLG-240-H-AB Flowering footprint: 0.81㎡ Veg footprint: 1,44㎡ CRI: 80 Dimensions: 64cm x 19.5cm x 1.5cm Mounting Height: 35cm – 70cm above canopy WHY GO QUANTUM BOARD? Introducing the latest LED technology to arrive on the grow scene. Samsung’s LM301B diodes are top of the range and include full spectrum warm white LED’s, perfect for veg and flowering stages. The 240W Quantum Board LED Grow Light produces more light than a single ended 400W HPS, while using way less power. A large aluminum heat sink keeps the diodes cool, reducing dust buildup and eliminating noise. The low profile design gives you freedom of placement, while coverage is excellent. A separate Meanwell XLG-240-H-AB driver powers the unit, which can be wall mounted, mounted to the tent poles or placed outside the tent. You have the benefits of a cooler room, less energy consumption, higher yields and more savings in your wallet! WHATS IN THE BOX? 120W QB288 with Heatsink x2 Meanwell XLG-240-H-AB x1 Dimmer x1 Mounting wire & Rope Ratchets x1 Power Meter x1 Wires and connectors x1 I'm just finding my way around on how to post pic then text so you guys might have to put 2 and 2 together yourselves every now and again. More to follow soon.
