  1. You can definitely mainline clones, although it won't be as symmetrical as a plant grown from seed because clones would stagger their nodes as they are not the main stem of the plant. You'll notice on a normal, untrained cannabis plant that the nodes on the main stem are symmetrical and the nodes on the branches are staggered.
So I rate you just gotta choose the top two nodes, of which one will be lower than the other, and just train them to grow level at the canopy.
    I agree...

    At the OP
You could still do it, it will just take a bit more effort... Go with Nebula Haze's method if you want to shave a week off the veg period...

  2. Would be worth adding that I did some digging and found some 1W led diodes that look identical to the 3W ones... So it's possible that there are 100 1W diodes there... So it all makes sense again

  3. Man to be honest I love the idea of a full mainline with a nice equal canopy spread. But with my limited lighting initially my hand was forced to an extent. So the next run will be a full 8 cola mainline on 6 ladies. (Learnt a lot from this 1st indoor grow)
I got some additional 300w from @growopz while in flower and that made a crapload of difference. So that will make it 400W for the next run.
The only problem with the training would be the different strains reacting differently and on the next run I am not doing myself any favours
     Next run will be:
Franco's lemon cheese,  wedding gelato, glookies, purple queen,  upper cut and old school. So quite a challenge for a tent..

Aah, I get you. Yeah I just try to make the most of my lights also, hence the training method... I found this way is the easiest and most rewarding for me.

I agree with the strains reacting a bit differently, but the basics is all the same... The only issue I've had is when the strain has early staggered growth (not symmetrical)... Kind of messes up the training a bit but its still manageable.

Will definitely be following your next grow.

  4.  Shit I know this should probably go to the grow diary space but I just wanna share the rest of the ladies even though they didn't make the flux mainline cut while vegging under the 100w. They still followed the same topping and training schedule though.

  5. Thought I'd update a bit on my 2 flux mainline flowering ladies. Shoutout to all the forum farmers that gave some input and for @TheUltimateNoob for the initial spark.
Both ladies have exceptional quality with the Washing Machine growing like mad and some big bud development. Then on the other hand the peyote WiFi is building some tricome like mad. I am currently on day 53 since 12/12 flip.

    Thanks for the update bro!
Very impressive couldn't have done it better.

Do you think you would continue to use the method? And did you encounter any issues with the training?

Also, hook us up with a link to your journal if you have one going. I'm not sure if I'm subbed or not, would be a nice read.

  7. I also have a bright star one, got from Takealot a while back.

One died, then takealot swapped it out. The other is quite noisy but still working.

I got another one from I cannot remember where and that died within 3 months.

Damn, I guess quality control is a bit bad.
Mine is also from takealot and it doesn't make much noise either.

  8. Clip fans can be convenient, although price and lifespan is what has put me off.
The clip fans I have had, have not lasted long. How old are your clip fans, I assume they also run 24/7 ?

I see Hydroponic have a RAM clip fan, wonder if that may not last longer. Its like R600 though.
I've just got the Safeway ones recently so I can't comment much about their lifespan... I've been running one for a few weeks now, will update on the lifespan when it dies.

My other clip fan though, made by bright star lighting, has been running 24/7 for the past 8 months or more... Except load shedding hours

  9. Those smaller  clip on type of fans generally do not last all that long.
I also prefer the larger box fans or oscillating fans, lots of options available with those - just need to become creative with how to mount them.
Yeah I was considering a box fan next.

These clip fans were a steal at 50% off 4 or more, so I couldn't pass the offer

  10. I mostly buy from @Biltong and Budz Link
Then if I'm looking for Dinafem seeds I buy from Overgrow Link, but they don't really communicate which can make a dude nervous.
I've completely moved away from Green Smoke Room Seeds. Still waiting on seeds that a mate and I bought in April. I know right.
Damn... That's a long wait... Giving Cannabist some competition there

  11. Hey thanks bud. I've got the QB75 bar in the flower 1m x1m cabinet, eventually I want 3 or 4 of them in there.
This no name light was thinking of veg only in the long term.
Considered putting it with the QB75 but won't I end up with an uneven grow unless I constantly rotate the plants. Which will not be a problem as I won't be using any specific grow training.
I'll be starting @Bay Seeds test grow and wanting to get optimal light in the flower cabinet. I'll be putting 2 in the cabinet.

    No problemo

You can put it with the QB75 but yes, you will have to rotate your plants.

You'll find that one side will stretch towards one of the lights more, so you gotta even it out.

  12. Yo @TheUltimateNoob , does your friends aunt know the origins of where she originally found the beans.
Do you have any information about the male that pollinated the bud? Is it a pure inbred line, any chance of hybridization.
Pure DP should already be a bit more stable in my opinion and would probably require less work than imagined, if it is actuallt DP.
The thread you mentioned is on the breeders group, here is the link

    Thanks for the feedback!

I'll try to get my mate to ask him and then get back to the landrace thread.
My suspicion is that it got pollinated by a male in her yard... Will have to find out though..

    Thanks again.

  13. So this pumps out 100w and uses 130w from the plug, is that correct. Only good for veg.

Sent from my DRA-LX5 using Tapatalk

    Correct.

And not really bro, you can flower with it as well - its better at flowering than cfls.

It will veg really well and flower decently.

I would expect around 80g dry bud if flowering using that light by itself in a space about 60cm x 60cm.

    I agree with@PsyCLown

Let them grow out a bit.

You can expect a height increase by a factor of around 2.7x from flip to end of flower stretch - so plan accordingly.

I always defoliate at the flip, then at least 2 more times in flower.

  15.

    What's up fam.

So I got a bunch of seeds from what is supposedly DP.

My mate got some bud from his neighbor who said that he got it from his aunt. She has cancer and grows her own stuff.

The bud was full of seeds, and I didn't expect much from it... 2 bongs later I would realise that this outdoor gave me a head buzz like some less potent indoor strains I've smoked in the past.

Like, the bud looked terrible, but the high was so surprising.

I'm not so sure that I have the space or sufficient knowledge to effectively grow, breed and stabilise this strain, so I'm willing to send out just over half of the seeds to whoever is interested.

If you could end up feminizing it, that would be amazing.

I wanted to give the guy some seeds back to give his aunt, or maybe some bud as well.

I've picked out the best looking seeds from the bunch and I'd like to develop this strain.

    @Totemic

    @420SA

    @1000Hills Nursery

I remember seeing a Landrace Sativa appreciation thread on 420sa somewhere, maybe some of those guys would be interested... If you have a link to the thread, please drop it here... I'll go over there and fill them in.
