  1. Nice one... Will be following along...

I must state though, and sorry for the bad news -

The light you have has a true wattage of about 185w from what I've seen online.

It does have a nice spectrum though.

  2. Hey all. Got this from a friend and wondering if it's worth while replacing my 200w worth of cfl's with it.Is there any way of checking the true wattage for idiots without a meter. Without me burning the reservation down please d1f14be886da74989b33be59809a3b64.jpg257a3e2e89d020a18dfdc44ab062ee91.jpg41448b17f4a7e9ba74b1a570b8ed8281.jpg4337b88b14732942bf5c422713402521.jpg Sent from my DRA-LX5 using Tapatalk

Definitely use this... If its low wattage, I suggest running it with some cfls as well (cfls being supplementary to it)... The spectrum of this kind of light really does something for the plants... Cfls are meant to give a lot of visible light and not much photosynthetic active radiation (PAR)  These red&blue grow lights on the other hand are meant for plants as these spectrums have been proven to help root and foliage development. I could go on about efficiency and things but just know that it's better for cannabis. The cfls can be used to light up the corners or for side lighting very well - could also veg quite nicely with them - but they aren't that grand for flowering.

    .......

As for true wattage, I see 10 rows of 10 led's.

The LEDs look to be 3w epiled chips, and there are 100 of them, which implies a 300w draw by all of the diodes.

    BUT

The driver has an input current of 0.52A max... We run ~230V at 50Hz is SA, so input wattage of the driver is about 120w.

The DC output of the driver states 60-90V at a constant 550ma... Which means it's just under 50w output for the diodes at 90V... Less as the voltage goes down.

The 12V output should run only the fans in the light and draw about 10w I feel - probably less.

So it seems like it's a 50w light output fixture.

Not sure if they're using cheap led's or under-powering the leds with the low current (not sure about the second bit because I don't know what current and voltage the leds normally run at)

The true wattage can really only be tested with a meter but that's what I can tell from the driver details.

Does it have 1 or 2 drivers in it?

I'd try to incorporate it into the grow somehow and use some like half of the cfls as well if I were in your situation... Then I'd have some cfls for germination or something.

Myself... Their strains grow really well from what I've seen online and experienced with my Blue Dream.

  4. My post wasn't in competition or in bad manner, I see how it can be considered as such and will remove them.
    No bad vibes hopefully,
No no I don't mind bro.

Hence I said I would only post if you haven't already.

I really dig the fact that you're willing to share the free seeds with the group here!... I can't really afford new genetics whenever I need to get seeds so the freebies will really help me.

I'll giveaway what I can, no doubt.

Just didn't want to make it seem like I don't want anyone else posting affiliate links definitely no hard feelings bro. Didn't mean to be rude or anything.

  5. They still aren't in their final pots yet, but I'm not sure when I should transplant.
I was going to do it next week so that it was a week before flower but now my veg is going to take a bit longer because of all the topping and training.. Not sure on whether to wait longer or transplant before I start LST next week
I transplant just before flipping to 12/12 as well. Found it works out quite well with the 10L fabric pots, the roots should be filling up the space well and will hold most of the soil in place by end of week 6 in veg.

  6. Day 51
Took off all the training bras so the ladies can swing in the wind during flowering

    Looking good

You'll want to tie them down again once flower stretch begins... Some will appear to move to the area with higher par because the base stems will get more rigid and tend to be more bent upwards as it grows if it isn't secured at a point.

Keeping them tied down just at the current bend will ensure the colas grow straight upwards from that point.

  7. My guess would be that you were hitting the maximum respiration of your plants around the 19-20hr mark of lights on, and they were becoming CO2 limited.

The VPD may have still been in a good range, so the plant will close up the stomata and droop leaves to avoid losing excessive water while respiration isn't taking place.

    I stand to be corrected.

Edit: I know that the leaves droop a bit during night cycle, just taking a jab at an alternate reason.

  8. Thanks man Could well be the problem aswell , I’m using a thick layer of sand to keep them at bay and haven’t seen any gnats on the top or on the sticky traps. I’m growing in coco so I’m watering everyday so will definitely also take a look at diatomaceous earth

I had a similar issue with some gnats a year or so ago... A nice layer or Perlite on top helped with it also.

Seems like if you cut them off at the surface, you'll win the fight.

  9. Awe awe... Welcome bro, finally someone else from Durban! Lol

Came to the show a bit late here so I'm kinda lost but I'll see if anything comes up that I can help with.

  10. Awe guys, since @StickyD420 also has an affiliate link, if I spot a sale that I want to post, I'll only do so with my link if he hasn't posted the same sale - just to keep things fair...

I'm not gonna sit and wait for everything so I can post it before him, lol, but if any sales are missed or aren't posted after a bit, I will post them.
