I found that most cultivars need at least 10 weeks to mature. My Cheese and White Widow is the only ones I have grown that matured faster.

    100%

The quickest growing plants I have found are ready after week 9, most are ready after week 10 and a few strains requires more than 10 weeks.

Generally speaking, the heavy sativa strains require longer.

Give it another week or two and you should be good I reckon, but best to continue to monitor the trichomes. Always make sure you check the trichomes on the bud and not on the sugar leaves as they trichomes seem to mature quicker on the sugar leaves and may lead to you harvesting a bit early if you are checking the sugar leaves and not the bud.

  2. Welcome to the forum!

You certainly need a larger light for that sized area. I would also recommend going with a tried and tested soil to avoid possible issues and frustrations with your first few grows. Once you get the hang of it, then you can start to play around and amend yourself.

If you are growing in hydro, perhaps consider coco instead of soil for your grows in pots. Far more similar to a hydro grow.

Hello all... EHG really is rubbish. I am a licenced commercial grower and have tried and tested almost every 'weed' nutrient out there. And I will tell you with all honesty that the best out there and an all rounder is called Easygro...it comes in Starter,Vegetative and Fruit&Flower. It costs about R800 for a 25kg...little less for the Starter and a little more for the fruit and flower. It also comes in 1kg bags for around R60. It is far stronger in values than most other produces on the shelf and comes with a water buffer added to balance the PH. You can get it from any farmers co-op. It has no harmful heavy metals and no harsh chemicals. I know this because every harvest gets sent for full analysis. There is another product called Multifeed which is very similar but far more expensive. I hope this helps someone.

This Easygro sounds quite similar to Hortimix:

Although lots of nutes are rather similar I guess. Very common to have a 2 or 3 part nutrient.

How quickly does the powder dissolve in the water?

    Yeah, you are right, 3/4 year ^^ i smoke 6 joints a day on average hehehe 1.5g per joint.. 8-10g a day.. about 250-300g a month 😁

Smoking that much, I feel one needs to grow themselves. Waaay too costly otherwise, especially if its indoor.

I've search it online and found that it's a Arizona Blister Beetle, which can cause blisters on your skin, so better use glove or any protective when going near it.

You sure? Arizona is quite far from us though.

Yep seeing similar reports for pancake stomper, that's gonna be fun, my current grow is around 80% of them.

Eh, what is a seed or 100 in your bud... right?

  7. Everyone getting hermies are you sure you don't have light leaks or interruption of dark cycles?
Seems its quite widespread, so doubt that's the case.

Possibly but unlikely I feel. Seems more likely the pancakes line is a bit of an issue, unfortunately.

Ah... I see you frequent a familiar spot in Gauteng. Nice!

I won't lie... I did make an exception for 1 customer who just wanted 2 packs for a pheno hunt. He paid R1200 for both packs.

I do not frequent the place I got the sticker from, but saw the stickers there and decided to take one as I saw this thread first.

There was some good feedback about the parents for the cross.

Want to get 2 packs of seeds, but not ready to pull the trigger yet. Seems I will likely miss out on the Pineapple Chem - such is life I guess.

I hope someone on the forum gets a pack and does a grow diary on it though 😄

If pappa spliff can recall if the seeds where still whole (not crushed or cracked) when dropping them in the soil I think it will be safe to say the seeds where not the problem if they where in good condition when you recieved them. Totemic is reputed through and through, 420sa is not going to take you for a ride either.

One thing bout the fridge storage, I used to preach fridge storage that lead to many a arguement and a bunch of conclusions. You can test it for yourself. A fridge that gets opened and closed a lot, like a communal house fridge, fluctuates a lot in temperatures. If your seeds are not sealed and air gets trapped inside of where your seeds are kept, there is a minute chance of air condensing inside the container and forming droplets of water or high moisture. a Fridge is not the place you wana sprout seeds cause they likely wont do anything, so high RH and low temp might cause more kak than good. The key to fridge storing is to keep them bone dry and airtight sealed. even better if it's in a fridge that's not being opened all the time.

It would be in pappa spliffs best interest to share more detail with us on his germing method, stuffing more seeds in someones hand who already lost 11 seeds is not going to solve anything.

    100%

I store my seeds in the fridge with silica desiccant to help control the humidity and inside a zip lock bag (they're not 100% airtight).

It is also a smaller fridge which is seldom opened and not the main fridge. I think the humidity is the bigger issue though.

@PapaSpliff Everyone has their own preference with popping seeds but I really love the paper towel method.

Into water for 12 to 24 hours, then into paper towel until there is a tap root and then I plant it into the medium (I plant near the surface, to make it easier for the seedling to emerge). If the seed husk gets stuck on the seedling I will carefully help it out and remove the seed husk.

@PsyCLown it's the bioleaf specialized growing medium that I have buffered.

Feeding nutriplex and doing well so far.

Think I will get some biobizz cause looking at a 500ml bottle it's not that much more than Nitrosol or Seagrow.

I know you a coco grower I have read before that you can't really keep moms in coco for a extended time is that true?

Ahh ok, I've been using the Bioleaf coco as well but been using GHE nutes instead. Nutriplex is GT Hydro's "clone" of GHE.

You can keep moms in coco for just as long as you can in soil. I personally do not keep moms though as I feel it is a waste of space - so I take cuttings before I flower. So there is always a bit of risk that if none of the cuttings root I lose the strain but there are others with the same strains so worst case I can get a cut from them again and so far have always had at least one cutting root.

  11. My bad, I must have misunderstood the post then.

Best keep an eye on the pancake stompers once they go into flower.
Rather disappointing. Although pics I've seen of the pancake stomper don't look as wow as I'd have liked anyways.

May be an easy choice to not keep any of them in my rotation then.

Curious to see how the rest of your loud cakes turn out.

It seems as if the pancakes line is very unstable

Have others running the pancakes line had issues?

This was the Dirty Kush Breath which hermied, not the loud cake (not pancakes line).

    i dont know,

my coveted Sugarcane Hermies (with Nanners) in high heat situations... i havent been able to pin point the exact temp, but my guess is anything over 29 and she shits herself a bit.

but as for herming like yours are, expressing legit make flowers and fem flowers, then yea thats a shit show and no amount of experience or knowledge or equipment will make those plants not herm

sorry for your hard luck man!

Nanners and hermies, not quite the same I guess and your nanners seem to be stress based as I have not had nanners on the sugarcane but my temps never exceed 27C inside the tent.

I've never had a single hermie on inhouse genetics and I've grown over 10 different strains. Exotic Genetix and Ethos are the worst for hermies, look at theme funny and they throw balls.

Yeah, popped many In House Genetics seeds and have not had any hermie issues.

Maybe it's luck. Seth Meyers Whatever GIF by Late Night with Seth Meyers

  15. I use a 10ml beaker and a 100ml beaker.

10ml for the smaller quantities, 100ml for the larger quantities.

I use to use syringes, but honestly you do not need to be THAT precise with the nutes and it takes a lot of time, not to mention when the bottle starts to run empty it can be a bit of an issue. If I mix 41ml instead of 40ml, it really is not the end of the world.

congratulations on your win @mantisI think I will sit out the next one if it’s fem seeds. Having to many Herm issues. And need to grow out some of my own genetics. (I have been pollin chucking.

    Hermies? Eish, not ideal.

It happens, but not something I come across all that often and I personally much prefer fems over regulars.

You got almost a year at least until the next one though 😄
