  1. The guns are the bigger problem IMO.

The comment by that David guy at the bottom of the article really grinds me the wrong way. What about alcohol and cigarettes, where many deaths are directly related to these substances which are addictive.

Those bags look like plants not bud, are they shipping it to add to a compost heap!?

Majority of law enforcement have very little knowledge on illegal drugs. Majority of people have a very big misunderstanding of drugs in general, both the legal ones from the pharmacies and the illegal ones as well as why they are illegal in the first place.

Boggles the mind as to how something as natural as a plant (cannabis) or a mushroom which naturally grows in nature is illegal? How people justify that, especially when it leads to very little to no harm. Yet many other unnatural things which cause lots of harm you can literally purchase off a shop shelf without anyone blinking an eye.

Anyways, things are changing and people are slowly starting to realize these things... slowly.

  2. Optimal temp is around 20 - 26?

Cooler when they're sleeping, aka lights are off?

Not too difficult to try and keep the temps up and if it increases the speed of growing its then we'll worth it, not so?

  3. Hmm, I'll see if my LED's produce enough heat for my grow area.

I guess a fan heater would warm a small area pretty quickly, probably quicker than those wall units and might be safer than one of those bar heaters?
Get one with the safety for if it falls over somehow, just incase I guess.

Noted on the red light, didn't even think of that.
Probably best to have the fan heater pointed away from the plants too.

Do you guys leave your fans on inside your tent for air movement and circulation still?

  4. Hey all,

So with winter coming, I am concerned that my grow area might be too cold as I am going to be using Quantum Board LED's.

What type of heater may be the best, one of those wall panels heaters? The ones with a fan perhaps? Or the bar type heaters?

I think I will probably automate the heat with an Arduino and a relay for the heater to have it turn on / off according to the room temperature.

I assume the heater will dry out the air as well, so will probably need to stick my humidifier in there too and once again link it up to an arduino with a RH sensor.

So which type of heater have you found the best for indoor grows?

How many LED's per board / bar / strip, the full spectrum 300k boards, 288?

Did you build these yourself? If so, where did you source the heatsink from or what did you do for a headsink?

  6. Very nice, never thought of that. I literally purchased some fabric bags earlier today.

I wish I had seen this sooner, next time I will rather go this route and DIY some.

I assume most nurseries will stock the weed shield? They seem to love Cultera products...

  7. Hi, i am new to this forum. has anyone used "SACRED SEEDS". Chris is super helpful and extends himself, and is very prompt, however i am also very sceptical being new to the internet buying scene.
Curious about whether anyone here has tried them?

I decided to pull the trigger and order seeds from them, Chris was super helpful and quick to respond and ship.

I'll check the container of seeds once they arrive, although I guess I'll only truly know once I grow them out?

Reassurance from fellow forum members will be appreciated.

Seems ridiculous though. For the next 12 months people can now sell these products across SA wherever they want. Correct me if I'm wrong there. Who will be regulating/testing these products for compliance? Who's gonna test oom Willie's CBD oil being sold at the monthly farmers market in Vryheid? Seems like they're trying to exercise control over something that can't be controlled and they're not sure how to go about it. Same goes for the whole CBD workaround/smokescreen thing in general

This is a very valid point, who will actually enforce this - it probably won't be.

It costs resources to enforce this and test it all. I do not think it will be enforced much, more of a wild west type of situation to keep people happy until they can try decide on a proper way to enforce and regulate it or decide how they want to approach the situation.

I guess this is what happens when things change quickly and people are not prepared for the changes.

I also found this topic quite strange

Besides the 20mG per day and the doctors and prescriptions etc - does anyone here know of a strain that produces 0.001 % THC and 0.0075 % CBD ? 🤷🏻‍♂️

I have not looked into it, although what about CBD hemp when it comes to THC content?

I think we might get the international pharma companies bringing their products in and selling them here?

  10. Hey everyone.

I am Psy, been wanting to dabble in growing cannabis for quite a while now and have finally decided to pull the trigger.

I've learnt a lot in the past few days and still got tons more to learn. You'll certainly be seeing some grow logs from me in the near future.

Having a local forum is quite nice as the products we tend to get locally are often limited to what the peeps across the ocean have access to unfortunately and that can often make things more difficult for a beginner.

    See ya'll around!

Sounds like they are ''guinea pigging'' a system.

If you think about it...(and the more you think about it the effed up it sounds)
What doctor(cause you need to see the doc to get the script-schedule 4)
is going to write a prescription for a cbd treatment that doesn't treat ''any specific condition'' only for ''general health benefits''
Consultation fee of around R500+cost of meds that will have little or no effect at that dosage???

Think I will self medicate and watch that space...puff, puff...

Well, depends on the Dr and their knowledge and willingness to try various medicines for off the book treatments. For example one medicine which may be used to generally treat kidney stones could have a side effect or be useful in treating cluster headaches for example. That medicine not specifically being manufactured or listed as treating cluster headaches.

Just an example. Certainly not everyone doc is going to be willing to want to prescribe CBD.

  12. Quite the thread revival, I know.

So who all is using this soil and how is it performing?

Do you just chuck the ingredients together in a big bin and close it and leave it outside? Does it need sun or heat?

Any modifications to the recipe? Freedom Farms soil has become popular, perhaps that's instead or?
